Love that Miranda subtly looks up and down at Andy’s outfit and realizes the similarities in their outfit and how much Andy has grown. Anne and Meryl have both mentioned that wide collar neck was done intentionally to reflect that 🥺✨✨✨

Both dudes were yucky. Nate wasn’t supportive, he mocked her job and shamed her choices. Christian kept hitting on her when he knew she was taken, and was low key sexist when he talked about Miranda. Plus, he had this big ego attitude that (personally) makes him unappealing. Andy needed to be alone for a while before finding her equal. A real man who could offer emotional support, who could cheer for her, and who could talk to her whenever she was in doubt about her job and her choices.

I always thought that this movie could have one more detail in it's ending. Andy wanted to become a writer, and miranda says that on page 6 there'll be sexist comments about her marriage. The movie would have ended more fabulously if they showed miranda reading the magazine page 6 and finding an article about her, written by andy, which states how she's the boss lady and the smartest in the room and calls out sexism, the line by Andy "if Miranda were a man, everyone would praise her work ethics" holds strong with this ending. This would satisfy both the equations well, Andy became a writer, and Miranda is well established as the boss lady. Anyways they did a good job with the ending.

Not bad, except that i don't think putting Andrea working for Page 6, a gossip column, after a prestigious fashion magazine would be sufficient for Andrea. this is an interesting idea because it satisfyingly ties the two stories together, but it would condone Miranda's behaviour as a boss. Andrea does say that if Miranda were a man that all of that would be considered acceptable, but the overall, implies that Andrea leaves because she disagrees with Miranda's abuse and especially her way of betraying and using Nigel to protect her own position at the company. If Andrea ended up writing an article like that, it would be implicitly condoning that sort of backstabbing behaviour.

I’ve met a lot of famous people at various charity, political, fashion, film, etc events. I’m no one special and she was very gracious when I briefly spoke with her. Some of it is misogyny but I bet another part is jealousy. Opportunists like Lauren Weisberger wish they were as fabulous as Anna so they try to minimize her talent by saying how “ mean” she is. The fact that Anna sat down with Meryl Streep for a tapped interview shows what a great sense of humor she has.

Now that I've grown older and wiser, Im curious as to why Andy has such a deep rooted loyalty to someone who treats her awfully, from day one. And also I realize all the times Andy was complaining about how she had to do a work related thing because her boss was making her and she didnt have a choice....Her job WAS and IS her choice. she made a choice to take a job that was incredibly time consuming. Now that I understand the concept of taking full responsibility for your choices, and that your choices are within your control!

She was manipulated by miranda to bend over backwards for this job, lest she get blacklisted by the journalism industry. Andy is also an ambitious person, and can thrive in the high pressure environment, as well as appreciate some aspects of the design world. In the end, though she hates who Miranda is, she also respects her. And in a way, they bonded when Miranda opened up about her divorce, and how she felt sorry for her daughters.

For those who might be wondering, yes, Paris is the most romantic city in the world. The architecture, the lighting on the streets, the pavement (soft to walk on) and just what a walkable town it is. I lived there in my 20s for four years. There isn't a place on Earth more conducive for strolling with someone (any time of day or night), chatting or socializing better than Paris. Every other door is a cafe where you can nurse a coffee, a bottle of wine or a beer with a friend or lover for hours and bullsh-t about anything. It's unreal. It really is.

I moved from a city that had massive skyscrapers to a city built on A Paris model and it took me a week to finally figure out. The dark shadows and blocking of the sun was gone. And of course, visiting Paris a number of times you get to see the absolute beauty that is Paris.
