I agree. The silhouettes are timeless. I adore the revamped Chanel Suit because it modernized a classic Chanel ensemble.

I was very surprised that a majority of them are Chanel. I thought they would have included Cerrutti 1881 and maybe Ralph Lauren or Gianni Versace. But then, the producers had MASSIVE difficulty getting permission from big names like that to use their clothes because they were terrified of offending the real "Miranda": Anna Wintour. What's funny is Chanel's people seem to know her and said she knew they were just doing it for fun, so they allowed the producers to use many of their outfits. Makes me wonder what other brands are that close to her to be able to parody her personality. Note: source is from various websites and a documentary about the film. I've read the book too. I also like the author's other book "Everyone worth knowing." I'd love to see Anne Hathaway doing that. In the book, Bette quits her dreary job and joins a catering business that plans parties but it isn't at all what she was expecting. If they make that into a movie, I hope they ask Anne or at least Emily Blunt to do it. They're both good at playing stressed out characters, LOL...

I love the two together at the end. Miranda laughs when she realizes that Andy had the courage to walk away from a position that was wrong for her and chase her own dream. Miranda was right about her - they were alike.

Miranda’s gray cashmere robe when she’s in Paris gift Fashion Week deserves a spot in the top 10. It shows that the truly chic are glamorous in private and added so much vulnerability to her character

I’m glad that you guys got the point of her final outfit cause a lot of people don’t. The story is told through fashion, and her last outfit is a blend of the old Andy and the new Andy to make the true Andy.

The makeover reveal outfit is my favorite. Along with her bold bangs, the entire look makes such a statement. How does an assistant afford a whole new couture wardrobe?

The wardrobe budget was over 1M. Fav movie of all time.

I love how her last Paris look parallels the Fontaines de la Concorde. My head cannon was that because the fountain represents the rivers, this was when Andy finally chose which path she would go in the future.

I still dream about those long thigh high boots!

The outfit Andy wears in france that she put together herself that Nigel compliments and the dress she wears the the MET gala

Sometimes everything just works. The cast, the clothes, the script......perfection personified. BUT, Streep is a class act all by herself. 🌹

I love Andrea's outfit when she and Emily got called by Miranda, Andrea was about to leave and go home but Miranda told that both assistants should go to the benefits... Andrea wore a brown blouse with small white polka dots and green belt...So chic ❤

This top 10 is weird

During the Madonna "Vogue" outfit montage, there is one outfit that we only see Andy in for the blink of an eye. It's a brown, leather dress that is, for my money, the best look of the entire movie.

From the moment I saw this movie in the theater to now 18 years later (!), my favorite was and still is Andy's turtleneck and jacket outfit at the end. Not only is it accessible and something I would wear, but it's such a perfect symbol of her character's development--a blend of her true self plus the good things she learned while at Runway.

this, & _Mean Girls_ must be two of the most quotable movies ever made.

I read fanfics about this movie, most of the time they used Nigel not getting the job plot as aside from saving Miranda from getting fired but also saving Nigel from getting into something that will definitely fail in the long run. Your comment is the exact reason that it can be canon, James Holt is not really a great designer lol

Literally, every ensemble in this movie is ICONIC, not to mention timeless. I may suck at fashion, and I fail to keep up with the trends, but even with today's standards, these looks are still fashionable IMO. Edit: That being said, we need at least 4 separate videos - each dedicated to Andy, Emily, Miranda, and Nigel - to cover every iconic look from this movie.

My two favourites are Andrea's dark green with black dress when she was in Paris and Miranda's eggplant dress that was quite simple. Both are elegant and deceptively simple, and not just anyone could pull them off.
