ok but the way keaton hit the notes in “doesnt anybody ever get it right and doesnt anybody think that i hear” but still gets anger and emotion in there is absolutely phenomenal. i also love the staging on the end where there is a spotlight on tommy ross and then when that last note plays she snaps his neck and the light goes red shows that she has sympathy and that she is still a human with feelings. using the lights going from bright to dark red symbolizing death is awesome. i also love how they used flashing lights along with the beat to make the scene much more chaotic. BEST PRODUCTION SO FARRR

And THIS is why I prefer it when the actress doesn’t try to make it sound ‘pretty’. Most people try to do a higher piercing note but I think that a louder and lower note just adds that extra bit of pain and anger to the song.

Carrie should've never killed him. He dies by getting hit in the head with the bucket in the original tale. Then making it so she kills him ruins the entire story and makes her the villain. The whole reason she truly breaks is because she sees Tommy is dead. Then she snaps and kills everyone out of rage. She doesn't even truly realize exactly what she it doing. Her CONSCIOUSLY killing Tommy one of the ONLY TWO people who cared for her ruins the entire tales.

  • @derronmendel9650

I love how realistic it looks when Tommy falls to the ground. I know that they would have practiced timing that correctly a lot, but having been in a show where I had to react to essentially telekinesis, that look of being hit and then falling down without bracing yourself is really hard, especially if she isn’t actually hitting you (stage fighting, of course). Well done!

One tiny detail I really like about this is the crown falling off at the start. I don't know if that's meant to happen or not, but the way she caught it and tossed it aside was so smooth.

This is a prime example of how a death scene doesn’t need buckets of blood (pun entirely intended) to be brutal. The deaths of the other promgoers are bloodless, but still brutal and it’s chilling. The singing is legendary, too, and the emotions just pouring out of this entire performance are nuts! I also like that this went the route of her being fully in control of her actions, and enjoying every second of it, as during the second song, she sings how she would bring them to their knees and make them regret ever mocking her, and that’s EXACTLY what’s happening during the rampage! Also, Tommy’s death was heartbreaking! All in all, perfection!

IDK why but I would've loved to see some of the movie deaths translated to the stage. the easy ones could be Tommy (Bucket to the head), various students (Electrocuted), other students (Crushed by falling decorations), Miss Gardiner (Called Desjarden/Collins in the movie; either crushed by backboard or set on fire). Margaret's death was cool to see translated to the stage
