    Hey David, I’ve been a fan of your channel since last November when my wife first told me she wanted a cold plunge. While doing my research I came across your content and it definitely saved me some time, money, and hard ache. We started with the Ice Pod Pro with a chiller. That was a great starter plunge. It was a little more than I wanted to spend on our first plunge considering I didn’t know if we would use it. But I didn’t want to fill it with Ice every time we were going to use it because if it was difficult to use we wouldn’t. We absolutely love it and have only missed a few days since November. We wanted to upgrade and were really stuck on what to buy next. We wanted something solid like the Ice Barrel 300 but did not want to DYI it. We also did not want to spend 10k either. We saw your video on the Mod Plunge and thought that was perfect. I decided to sleep on it over night and then saw your video on the Desert Plunge. While they’re very similar the Desert Plunge has an option for an ozone, which is a must. We actually bought the ozone off of Amazon that you recommended and had a great experience with it for our first plunge. We’ve had the Desert Plunge for over a month and we hit the jackpot. It has pretty much everything that the 10k plunges have for $3,400 (after using your code). Thank you very much for the advice and keep up the great content brother!

You’ve given me so many ideas for the future of my health and family’s health. I always refere to your videos first when looking for information. I’m currently torn between I’ve barrel 500 with your chiller diy and the desert plunge...any perspective you could give would be so helpful in helping me decide. Another question I have is in regards to changing the temp and the expected time to meet the temp. Like if I’m going to have it set at 55 F for a first timer and then want to change it to, say…40 F. What would be the expect time to cool the water down? I live in PHX, AZ. So it gets hot. Any advice or info would be much appreciated!

Do I need to keep it on 24 hours so it’ll still be be cold at 6 AM? Or should I just turn the 2 hour system on before bed and should that have it ready to go in the morning? Thanks

  • @DavidMausJr

    @DavidMausJr

    Nice work! I would suggest keeping it on 24/7. That doesnt mean the chiller is on and pulling power that whole time, it only kicks on when the temp rises 2-3 degrees and stays on until it reaches the temp. The pump however will stay on and keep the water circulating and clean put doesnt pull much power.

    Replace that sediment filter with a stainless steel mesh filter. Buy two and swap them every two weeks so you never have to buy filters again. Also add another 2 1/2 inch stainless steel mesh filter for a sink as the pre filter. The holes are tighter and will work better than the plastic 🙏🏻

    Many similarities, but from being able to review both here are the major differences: Modtub has multiple color options on the cooler itself, but they currently dont have a pre-filter and the pump is susceptible to breaking (ive had 3 break) from hair wrapping up around the pump blade. They also use a micron filter which needs to be replaced about every 1-2 weeks for me. Desert Plunge has 2 color options (grey and tan) BUT, has a lid latch to keep the lid from accidentally slamming on you or your kids (mine use the plunges all the time), they come with a pre filter, a better pump (in my opinion), a sediment filter which should last longer, and optional ozone built in which i LOVE. Both are great, I hope this helps.
