I don't see where that comes from, that's a big assumption for how their political ruleset works. Where I am from mayors don't have terms limits, the mayor of my town has been in power for 12 years the mayor before that sat for 20 years. So who says Pauline can't get reelected again and again so long as people like her and keep voting for her.

I noticed none of the RPG's were covered. They actually fit in to this timeline nicely though; Super Mario RPG LOTSS: Adventure Era, Mario & Luigi series: Adventure era with ONE exception; Partners in Time; this one is actually split between eras with the 'present' being the Adventure era and the 'past' being the Infant era, (it should also cement the fact that Mario and Luigi DID grow up in the Mushroom Kingdom.) Now the Paper Mario series is also very special, since the Paper World is revealed not be a different Universe but to be taking place inside a book in Peach's attic in M & L Paper Jam. So in effect 'Paper Mario' is actually a '2nd Mario' but then again almost everyone from Mario's world has Paper counterparts. I also wonder if these games bridge the Adventure and Party Eras? The threats in most of the RPG's are actually external to both the Mushroom and Koopa Kingdoms, leading Mario to often form a shaky alliance with Bowser, I'm wondering if we could even think of this as another era? I also wonder when Mario was a Painter? I think Mario Paint could be either Employment era or Party era and the same for Mario Maker. I need your take on this, and until next time, thanks dood.

Should be noted that Super Mario RPG shows the moment when Mario and Bowser team up for the first time and stop regarding one another as enemies, so this was probably the game that bridges the Adventure Era to the Party Era.

The “party era” is simultaneous with the “adventure era” in the actual timeline. Super Mario RPG is also merely a temporary truce.

Comfy video and it really ties up the loose ends of a part of my childhood.

The true way to be a man among the ashes is to accept that the Kali Yuga is our Party Era.

Daisy was the main princess to save in Sarasaland during Super Mario Land 1 (just before 6 golden coins), that series was interesting because it spun off into Wario Land. I think maybe Wario was off competing with Captain Syrup for treasure throughout the early part of Mario's Adventure era, then during the late Adventure era Wario had an Employment Era of his own when he became a Game developer in the WarioWare series with his friends, that's what he was doing during those eras. Both Daisy and Wario appeared around the same time early in the Adventure era but didn't crop up again until the Party era dood.

29:47 Since Super Mario bros wonder came out, we can put it in adventure era since Bowser is still fighting with Mario. But Daisy joins Mario and his friends, so that means she's not only inclusive to the Party Era but appear beforehand? Also I always assumed Mario Land happened Super Mario bros 1 and SML2 because Mario and Daisy shared a heart so I assumed that this was before he fell in love with Peach, but we can write it off as a temporary affair/gratitude or something.

If somebody who is able to complete the baldurs gate saga with SCS/Ascension installed care's this much about Mario there's got to be something to it, so i have to watch it now.

I think we can conclude that Donkey Kong Jr died or disappeared some time in the party era, but Cranky and III were still around.

Just saw every slide screencaptured and posted like a PowerPoint on /vr/. Came to sub.

Finally, all is revealed. We can at last know the TRUTH.

I’m noticing things I like and also things I really don’t. I like the idea of the sports/party titles taking place years on down the line, in an era where Mario and his enemies have made peace (at least for the moment). That’s a very interesting way to contextualize those games and make sense of the seemingly inappropriate invitation of Bowser, essentially the leader of a terrorist organization. Now, some things I don’t like are this new idea that New Donk replaces Brooklyn. I don’t think Nintendo even planned this, because the movie (canon or not) goes with the classic idea of the Bros being from their version of the normal human world, and being strangers to the Mushroom world. That idea is tainted by the idea that they could always have just taken a plane to the Mushroom Kingdom whenever they wanted. It’s much more interesting if they discover this world and it comes across as very alien to them. And even though you’re technically right about the DK lineage, and I would’ve fully agreed at one time, I’ve decided DK makes more sense as Cranky’s son rather than grandson. If DK as we know him is an adult already, and Cranky is as old as he is relative to Mario, that has some unfortunate implications for DK’s lifespan. Mario as a young adult knew DK Jr as a baby, and apparently Jr had time to grow up, have a kid, disappear, and now that kid is a young adult and Mario doesn’t appear to have aged much at all. At this rate, Mario will know DK VIII and will outlive DK III by many years. And again, even though the movie isn’t canon to the games, it shows Nintendo has abandoned trying to convince people on this whole DK being the son of Jr. thing.

This was great fun. Now.... get on to your buddy Morcar and tell him to crack on with his Mario play throughs.

Hey, I found a couple inconsistencies / questions for you. 1. In super mario bros wonder, mario already knows daisy and she helps fight against bowser who is on bad terms with mario, where would you place this in your timeline since it shouldn't make sense for it to be in the party era since bowser is still hostile towards mario. 2. In dance dance revolution mario mix it has both wario and waluigi despite bowser still being hostile.

I believe that Mario Land was originally *not* a theme park, and the events of SML1 occurred during the Adventure Period. After the defeat of Wario is SML2 that is when Mario decided to convert his castle and the lands granted him by the Mushroom King in reward for saving Peach into a theme park. This is far more logical.

Donkey Kong Jr is playable in Mario Kart Tour, not sure how canon that is though.

We need some Vietnam mario edits

Amazing video that solved it in the Macro scale. I think on a micro scale there's still stuff that doesn't quite fit. 64 DS remake features wario. the party era games seem to take place around the events happening at the time of the adventure era.
