She was iconic for that!! It's hilarious betty took the most offense at the joke about her wedding night and playing dead 45:20 she's like mother freaker you ain't about to lie that big on TV or it could have been he was thr reason they didn't get it on bc that's not the expression of someone that didn't do there part

I randomly sat next to Phyllis on a flight in coach when I was enlisted! I was raised by my grandmother and was star struck. And her assistant even told me after that she was so happy I knew who she was as a 20 year old in the early 2000s.

This brings back so many great memories. I truly miss this era of television 📺 and comedy greats that would get together for these Roasts. Never could you get to see so many great individuals under one roof at the same table. You knew you were in for a great night when Dean Martin was on top of his GAME and FOSTER BROOKS as well. I watched these Roasts especially because of them. The Golden age of television was a special time and we will never see such great comedy like we had in the 60's & 70's.. these were special times and something today's generation will never get to experience. I enjoyed this film 🎥 very much. Well done ✌🏽

in reality, he didn't drink. He always wanted to be at the top of his game and would not drink during the day. He and Brooks were known for their acting drunk, and they would set each other off on stage. He did not like long rehearsals for his weekly show in part because he wanted to make it to dinner with his family every night. He then relied on adlibs and slip ups during the taping of each episode.

I find Dean Martin tedious, annoying, and outright boring. I see someone with no talent, but just happened to be in the right place at the right time with the right people. Otherwise, I don't see him ever making it in show business.

@@Drummerchick2003 Yes he did make it in show business, but my point was that I feel he was just lucky. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time and knew the right people. There are tens of thousands of people in Las Vegas and Los Angeles who are much more talented than he ever was, and I couldn't stand his recorded music either. Just like in high school, there are those who are popular and who can hang with the "in" crowd when they aren't funny or particularly interesting, they just happen to be in the "in" crowd. Martin was popular and in the "in" crowd.

Kind of Rich Little to help out Dean Martin, when he was definitely inebriated, and was stalling the show. Great comradery among comics. RIP Betty, I imagine you're roasting with them all now, outliving Dean and the guests.

Yes the funny pet guy was Charlie Callus. Known by his peers as a hysterically funny human being. He was one of few performers to have made over 50 appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Also known as the voice of Elliott the Dragon in the Disney movie Pete's Dragon
