I get that his speech will change depending on his physical state, but him gasping for air is something that was in the original if he begins running out of oxygen. The increased heart rate I do believe is new however.

Gasping for air in low O2 and heartbeat are returning features. What has changed, however, is that it's more seamless. If he enters oxygen again, he'll still gasp a little as he recovers instead of instantaneous recovery. And the heart rate now adjusts based on the stress and physical effort he is experiencing instead of being a stressful background noise that never changes. And they also change how he speaks his lines.

Beat this game the first night it came out. Played from Chapter 1 to Chapter 12 all night. Best horror game I’ve played since RE2 Remake

The alive system is amazing. The sound of his heart rate keeps me on edge every step I take, sooo good.

Soooo excited been waiting for this game to get a remake🤩 so glad Issac original voice actor is playing Issac again and doing the mocap (I believe he did mocap for the remake too idk) it looks beautiful and so advanced looking so excited 🤩😍 definetly alot of improvements since the original I can't wait to get the crap scared out of me again

Isaac already did all that in the first, other than talk. Which I think is mostly fitting other than some points where he could give quick confirmations and responses. I hope Isaac isn’t too chatty in the remake

Everything you need to know if you haven’t played it yet. This game slaps. When I say slaps, I mean my God what a masterpiece. This game is gorgeous. From the graphics, the lighting, the audio, right don’t to all the little things like randomized enemy spawns that change every time you play. Not to mention the story itself is phenomenal. Overall to me it’s an easy 10/10. Only thing I would argue is I wish it was cheaper. Maybe $49.99 but I get it gotta make your money fast lol.

Wish I could get it I only got a PS4 though I hate being poor

No it definitely does. I'm sick of the people I play as being silent puppet errand boys and girls. I'd like my character to actually react to stuff, but never too much. There's a fine line.

This game was incredible. It took everything that was great about the original, cranked it up to 11, and cleaned up the few parts that needed it. I hope they remake the second one next.

Yes, it's a remake, but it's the first time playing it. I'm absolutely enjoying it & I can't wait to replay it again carrying over all the upgrades I was able to obtain the first time around.

I feel like weve reached a point in gaming graphics where we cant get much further. I mean, look at this! This is so realistic its beautiful.

This was exceptional- buy it and get surround sound or headphones 🎧 Tense, fun, demanding and beautiful graphics.

The remake is arguably better than the original which I didn't think was possible.

Honestly, after playing both recently, I gotta say it felt creepier without voice lines for Issac. It was just you and your own head. And Isaac's redesign left a bad taste. The og Issac was standard and shouldn't have been changed.

I mean he used to stumble around ready to fall over in the original when he was low health… nothing really ground breaking happening over here lol

I like that in the original I could run plasma cutter the whole game without needing to buy more ammo for it, only ever using the cutter. But in this remake, even on Easy, the game will find ways to make you use other equipment. It has more of a survival emphasis. I love this remake.

If I remember correctly, I believe isaac would start limping if he was low on health. Not sure what this A.L.I.V.E system is, but I’ll have to check it out.

I just bought this game and so far I have no complaints, it's fun, tense in which the game has literally made me jump and cuss at it sometimes, and an all around great game. Love it.

It also is a good idea to watch the dead space downfall movie which happens right before dead space 1.

Them arent new mechanics, they were in the og DS. When he was hurt he'd groan, and when he was low on air you could hear him gasping.

Is it just me or do the dialogue lines in conversation change with isaacs health bar? I swear he sounds pained as hell when hes talking with >20% HP

The big necromorph fights were way too easy, you could just run in circles around the parts of the room that weren’t breakable and wait till he throws his explosive ball to shoot, also the hunter chases should’ve been more challenging just stasis and blow his legs off and he can’t chase you into the next room, felt more challenge from a room full of normal necromorphs than he hunter

The only reason I'm downloading this is because the original has a mouse sensitivity problem. The mouse doesn't move when issac is moving.

I don’t like that they’ve added dialogue. I want the exact same experience with updated graphics. Isaac’s dialogue later on is great of course but has no place in DS1.

The original was better in my opinion, scarier, you felt more isolated and the levels made you feel small in their vastness, also the enemies were scarier and even tip toed over to sneak up on you 😂

I returned the game after an hour. Just can't play it properly, despite the Ryzen 7 5800x3D and 6950 XT. The frame rate constantly fluctuates between 1 and 120 fps. If I change a setting it immediately crashes.

My only issue so far is Isaac talking, I feel like the silent protagonist worked really well for the first game.

This remake sounds more and more like a flop. It kills me because I remember playing Dead Space when I was in High School back in 2008. It has stood the test of time and is still my favorite horror game of all time. There are so many issues I have with this remake already.
