Efren, learning about you has caused me to fall in love with watching pool. Over 2 years of watching every video of you that I could find and now I'm watching all the tournaments and paying for pay-per-view all thanks to watching you play. It truly amazes me that just a few months from turning 70, you are still playing and dangerous on pool table. Our birthdays are a mere 10 days apart. I am 10 days older than you. You are walking around pool tables and playing strong and I am bedridden. It makes me proud to see someone my age that is still playing extremely well and teaching youngsters and happy to share his lifetime of knowledge.

Everybody has its own fate, everyone has his own destiny, don't feel sad about your condition, you can still enjoy life even when you're lying down and there is still this someone who will stay beside you no matter what, your family and friends.

I played Efren in 2017; the game was the best three out of five in nine ball. Of course he beat me and I enjoyed it. - - - If you are ever in the Huntsville Alabama area just stop by Steve's Cue and Grill - - - as you walk in you will see a picture of Efren and I on the left just outside the entrance of my cue repair shop - - - I'm there every week, if I'm not in my shop just walk up to the bar and look to your right - - - I am normally setting at the first table having coffee or unsweetened tea if I am not teaching someone how to shoot pool - - - if you shoot pool, since I own all the Diamond pool tables in the bar, the table time will be on me and I will let you break!

Grandmaster Efren. I don't know what else to call you since there is no such title for a great pool player like there is in chess. I have watched you over the years, and re-watched many videos over and over and over. Your humility, excellence, coolness under pressure, willingness to take a tough shot and succeed, are an inspiration to anyone in any sport in the world, not just pool. I'm not Filipino, but I am proud of you like you were from my country. May God continue to bless you as you continue to inspire young people to focus on the fundamentals including caroms, the diamond systems, the other variables in the game like cloth and pocket size and shape, and the peculiarity of the rails on the table. You make it look easy. Thank you for all that you have allowed us to witness in your games.

I hallucinated thinking it was Efren Reyes speaking, but his English seemed too good. Then I saw the comments and they confirmed my suspicion. but thank you for this incredible experience. I really enjoyed your video.

I was happy to be alive and interesting in pool while Efren Reyes was doing his thing. Some of the most amazing shots I ever saw in a pool game, were happily captured on video. I am not much into most sports. But pool is different, because I played a lot of it, and the strategies are interesting. The game is almost mathematical in a way.

Before Pacquiao, there was Efren. 😎

I am a filipino but i did not know about cesar morales. I know cesar montano though. I can still remember Efren’s SMB commercial “it is our one true friend” but it doesnt seem as fluent as this guy..

the mighty efren. i asked one of his friends named (jose) why he missed the derby city clasic tournament, i can't remember exactly which one. eiither '15 or '17 when i attended. i was told he dislocated his shoulder patting himself on the back.

In all other sports you can have a debate about the GOAT, but in Billiards there is no debate.

When I was a kid on at least 2 occasions I saw Willie Mosconi play exhibition matches at Jackie Cannons pool hall on Snyder Ave in Brooklyn , I was totally impressed , but got to say , I think Efren is the GOAT and I also have seen almost all the great players( male and female ) live.

Mosconi may be the best who ever was, but Reyes may have eclipsed him. Of course no one will ever beat Mosconis 500+ run in straight pool without missing once ( he just stopped shooting.) Because almost no one plays straights anymore far as I know. So called Minnesota Fats (Wanderone) was an interesting story in itself, because he falsely claimed HE was the Minnesota Fat from the book and movie the Hustler. Walter Tevis (also now famous for Queen's Gambit) probably got tired of telling the truth, that Wanderone stole the name. Anyway, "Fats" was almost certainly not a world class player, and Mosconi crushed him on Wide World of Sports...twice I think.

Not only are you one of the best, but also one of the kindest and nicest.

What I enjoyed about the magician is that he was all moving parts and feel. Cue wobbling all over. It just flowed through him. Canada

Mr. Efren has a human side, but he also has a very calm judgment. I have nothing but respect for him, and to me he is like a god.

I mostly watched Efren play at Hard Times in Bellflower, CA. Many great players but no one came close to The Magician.

Great match by BOTH players! Commentators are ridiculous. The old straight pool shooters used to make these 'miracle' shots all the time.

He had conquered his opponents in the Philippines and started to lay waste to the best in the world. My favorite part here is the look Mr. Rempe gives Reyes at 13:40. He knows the feeling of almost missing the 3-ball shot.

This is a really great match but Efren Reyes is far more superior, he has better kicking skills and most of all the shooting skills especially in the last rack! Hands down to the greatest pool player of all time!

I don’t think that this is really Efren speaking sure sounds like him. There has been a number of people posting videos of his matches. This will fool a lot of people. But I just enjoy watching the games played by the GOAT I would hope that Efren gets a kick back on any revenue.
