My grandpa taught me “ my job is to leave the farm in better shape then when I inherited it” my dad taught me to always plant trees, the trees are for your children and their children. My dad was still planting trees on his property well into his 90’s.

I think you need to turn one of the out buildings into an Orangery for Phillip. It could be his hobby room. ALways love Sundays to see what you guys are up to.

My dad was of Dutch farmer extraction. He was a certified master gardener. He loved planting and moving trees around. He planted ~5k in his lifetime. He also worked at rehabilitating a natural wetland of about 10 acres. He would love your arboretum. In other words, I get the attraction to building it for yourself and the following generations. Congrats on the work done. Just 2 more loads of trees will do it.
Anna's course sounds great. The garden is shaping up beautifully. I adore Ziggy and just about feel how silky his ears are.
Great job on planting the trees, I'm sure the generations to come will be very grateful that someone years ago in the past did such a selfless act which reminds me of that quote: “A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit.”
Ahh! Planting your botanical babies. Each spring I go to my garden to see all the things I planted the year before. It’s been 27 years. My plants and trees etc. have grown up with my children. Now I can enjoy the beauty of both. My youngest son has taken over. He has planted over 400 hardwood trees on our acreage. We’ve also planted flowering trees in memory of friends and family who have passed. Nature is glorious!

Beautiful comment. ♥️♥️♥️
I think a website with the location of the plantings and their names (possibly in Latin, English and French?) is a SPLENDID idea! The thought of going on a virtual Le Fleur garden tour is very appealing indeed. Best of luck with your art academy idea Anna; I think many people would be interested.
I really enjoyed having your neighbor on the channel today! I hope he returns. Benoit is another favorite guest I enjoy.
I know a lot of people take it for granted but take it from me a back support brace belt is an absolute lifesaver
Phillip’s love of gardening warms my heart. I look forward to seeing it grow. The website sounds like a fine idea.
As per usual, Philip’s dry sense of humour is wonderful …. But now times two! Jan (spelling?), the neighbour, is a perfect match! Anna’s course is guaranteed to be a success. Every time she has shared one of her commissions it has been a joy to watch her creative process. She should patent her designs. Wallpaper is making a comeback and rightfully so. But, I must comment that Ziggy has become a most effective supervisor over the Chateau’s proceedings. As my dear departed father used to say, “ It is a damned poor job that can’t afford a proper superintendant” and I think he is right especially as Ziggy will work for dog biscuits.
You guys will have to host a garden party in the spring/summer to thank all of these hard working people who have helped you with removing the dead trees, planting the new trees and cleaning up the garden beds. You could also include the main people who have been helping you rebuild your front entrance gate.

I think they want to keep their home private, as they are not having guests to stay. I am sure they are paying a high price to have all of this work done and most workers these days are just so happy to have a job and making money with the bad economy. People keep telling them to have people on their property, but in one video, they said they wanted to keep the home a family home and private now and only do vlogs. The workers are not volunteers, like some of the Chateaus have workers for free

@@darlenechandler2403 I don't think hosting a one time thanksgiving garden party will be an invasion of their privacy. I believe Phillip and Anna are appreciative of all those who in One or more ways helped make the old chateau into the gem it has become.... Just saying. ✌️

Wonderful. I love the idea of planting two trees for everyone taken down. Bravo! Love this channel. Thank you!

One more fine day at the chateau. You make the most mundane activity worth watching. And it's the kindness, reative and humour that I come back here for -- a pretty big package I'd say.
Very sorry you injured yourself while planting. Love the idea of being able to access the species of plants. Our family enjoys your series so much. Thank you.
Philipp it is amazing how you have a seemingly unlimited ability to get neighbours and friends to work for you. Jan could be competition to Bernard in his ability to roll with your punches. Ziggy sure likes to help and those ears of his are beautiful. Anna your course will be a smashing success.

Yann is a good neighbor and has a fun sense of humor. I hope he at least got an invitation to dinner out of the deal. Great video as usual, thank you!
Loving the idea of mapping out your garden and labeling with trees and horticulture with the current planting as well as for future aspirations (wish list) ;)
The result of your work is going to be spectacular in years to come , and is already bringing so much to the garden and the chateau in general . About thirty years ago I planted a tiny tree I had grown from a seed , just one tree , and now I drive by to see our old house and admire my tree . I can hardly imagine Phillip , how you will feel about all of this in thirty years .
Love how Doggy is always in the midst of everything! He has turned into a very elegant chateau-appropriate dog. Glad to see you putting the cardboard down. It is such a life-saver, back-saver, time-saver. Looking forward to more details on Anna's course.
The new trees and shrubs will look amazing. Good luck Anna on your launch 🎉
I said out "Oh, yes!" when you said the topiaries were for the entrance! Ever since I started watching this channel almost a year ago I thought, "Such a beautiful chateau, and topiaries on either side of the entrance would make it complete!"
Loving the new forest and Phillip's enthusiasm! Neighbor and friend Jan is a treat on these old eyes and lovely English! #Gardening Twins!!! SO EXCITED for the lino printing course....already signed up! Welcome Springs and Happy Mother's Day, Sweet Anna! Cheers!
My dad kept a journal of all his plantings. When to fertilize when to prune ect..same with annual gardens.love the antique golph ball
Philip you have been having another glorious time at the garden centre. They must be so happy to see you when you arrive because they know you are buying lots of plants and trees. Terrible that you put out your back, but all the plantings that were continued look great. It will be so beautiful when all these trees start to grow. Can’t wait to see Anna’s wallpaper designs and her process. Fantastic.
Just a lovely couple that love and work so well together. Love from Australia ❤

Love the new plants and yes a map listing all the beautiful plants would be awesome. Anna best wishes on your new class. It will be interesting to see how you do it. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
Philip is giving in to his addiction again. 😂 Very impressive job with the plants and trees!
I just love your dog! He is a part of everything but never gets in the way.
I love that the puppy dog is helping and present. Adorable doggo.
We started our 1/2 acre garden and food forest, right on top of our lawn of St Augustine grass, by just covering the entire area with cardboard. Overlap the cardboard so no light comes through. Then we covered it with about 15-20cm of fresh wood chips FREE from a local tree service. When it's time to plant, we pull back the mulch and fill in the planting areas with good soil. No till, no dig, very fast, very few weeds, and the cardboard attracts earthworms!
Anna, you are so accomplished. I love how supportive Phillip is, how proud of you he is, & how he expresses that. You are always gracious to express your appreciation for all the work he puts in as well. An undertaking like restoring your chateau is a monumental task, it’s not a sprint but a marathon. Not every couple is cut out for that but it really does seem like you 2 are one another’s biggest fan & are doing exactly what you’re meant to be doing.
Philipp's plant addiction has reached epic proportions, it may be time for him to go to a compulsive gardener's meeting. On the other hand--that grove is really going to look nice in the end, so maybe just another year or so before cold turkey. Anna's new project sounds wonderful & so very creative. We've all admired her wonderful handmade wallpapers--this sounds like a step toward having her own atelier/design college!
Great video! MORE JANN!!!! 🙂 Congratulations on Anna's class. I understand her trepidation at sharing too many secrets. I, too, am a surface designer who created hand printed textiles and papers, and explored numerous ways to create flawless registrations by hand. After years or perfecting your craft, it is hard to just give away that skill that it took you so long to master. Hugs to you. Hopefully I will have a chance to take your course to show my support!
I love the idea of planting for the future. It will be amazing to see how things grow and change in the coming decades.
this is my FAVORITE channel.. and for good reason :)!!
Your designs are already 1st Class Anna. Your course will be excellent, especially with Philp's help! (Without it as well!)
Ziggy is a good assistant.
Philipp, wishing you continued healing for your back injury! Looking forward to seeing your trees bloom!
Yes please, a page/list on your website about the trees, with names and photos! Ja, unbedingt, ich pflanze derzeit auch einige Bäume, ich liebe Bäume! You could even install an "adopt-a-tree" system, to whoever from your beautiful community wants a god-child-tree will pay a certain amount, and in exchange gets a photo of the look and hight of her/his tree every year. Congratulations, Anna, to tackling this online course. I did so many online courses, and know really well, that that's endless work!
6:23 for future reference you can fit around the plant pot with a mallet to help loosen the dirt making the plant easier to pull out
Yes, Philipp you totally should create a page on your website devoted to the trees you’ve planted. Would love to see that!
You are the 2nd KZreadr I follow that did the cardboard with mulch this week
Absolutely an adorable famil ❤ And of course 🐶
Really looking forward to all of those trees to start budding out and growing leaves and getting bigger. I love that you planted so many trees, great job! And thank you Phillip for working in your tight jeans, they looked perfect for gardening!! Have a good week. (from Sandi)
I love how Ziggy is involved with everything. He’s gorgeous!!
Love it! So many young beautiful young trees! I might recommend discreetly setting up large rain cisterns to capture spring rain, or investing some system of water retention and dispersal in the event there is another drought. If this year is only half as bad as last year the young trees will be really vulnerable.
Your neighbor is a trooper!!!! You’re very luck to have him.
I mean, as obsessions go, loving lots of trees and plants, it's not a bad one...
7:24 I guess you can always geo-tag them. 7:53 Clever, that transition to the sponsor was very smooth.
Anna I am so excited about your online course. I use to be a textile artist, then a painter and now a mix of the two. Would totally love to take your course
I use metal plant tags that you "engrave" by writing with a stylus. Learned the hard way not to tie them on tree branches with metal wire (as the tree grows, the wire will cut in). And I take photos of my plants in situ and then tag them on IG or wherever so I can always identify them. I found that's faster than a spreadsheet.
I an so glad Jan was featured in this video. Finally someone with some comedic instincts on this channel to lighten the mood!
Can't wait for Anna's course
two more ;) great gardening job...great looking gardeners... :)
Looking forward to your course!
So exciting the course!
That last drone shot of your home is simply stunning! ❤❤❤❤
Ouch! 😮😮😮Poor Philip! 😢😢😢 you are young enough for a fast recovery. Exercise and be well.
Love your videos!!
You two are so creative!!
Looking forward to Anna's course
Great gardeners. ❤❤ and designer
Love all your gardening !! It looks beautiful!
Ziggy helping every step of the process 😄Lovely job 👍
Love the lino printing course! Great idea and absolutely on brand!!!
So excited to take your course :)
Last year I bought myself a beautiful notebook to keep a record of my garden. A page for each bed withnotes on what worked and what needs to be changed or improved. Useful but a lovely record of the garden development. Wish I had done it from the beginning. 😊
Looking forward to seeing Anna's class on line -- brava!
Hopefully we’ll see more of your friend!
You guys ROCK! Always enjoyable..
There was a time I did that sort of thing. Theorem stencils, bronze powder stenciling, pierced and cut lamp shades, but I’ve reached a stage in my life that I’d rather pay others to do that sort of thing. However, I absolutely adore your design sense. All the best on your new venture. I’m sure it will be a great success.
Your new trees look great! Have you given any thoughts to planting spring flowering bulbs? I could never trust my husband to do a landscaping/garden project on his own, but Philipp it looks spectacular. Well Done
All your friends helping out so much is great! You seem to be part of a lovely community. And I suspect you spend just as much time helping them out, offline! x
I'm intrigued about Anna's course, I'd be signing up for sure!
I always feel sad when these videos end. Now I have to wait another week!
Bravo Anna ❤ you and your online Academy will be sensational 🤩 Your love and support for each other’s projects, and each other, is so heartwarming. Love that Ziggy is also so supportive as project manager. Twins Yan/Jan and Philipp are very cute and stylish together. It really is a fantastic legacy to plant all those beautiful trees for future generations. Another project that keeps on going and going, (very satisfying for an addiction), love it!!) I’m sure you will devise an excellent method to record information on all your plantings. May your addiction continue to flourish. Amazing find of Yan, on the golf ball 🤣 Love your sprinkles of humour throughout all your vlogs. Here it is now Autumn. Autumn here is always a bit weird. Chance of rain 90%; humidity 97%; today 31 degrees Celsius; winds southeasterly 20 to 30 kms/h. There goes the myth that in Queensland it is ‘always’ beautiful one day and perfect the next 🤣🤣😂 Have a great week from your devoted fan, Mary, Central Coast Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺☔️🌧️💧🌈😍❤️🇦🇺
Thank you for helping, good neighbor.❤
PLease look after your back Philipp. Marvellous work going on in your beautiful garden. It's fantastic the number of new trees and plants you are putting in.
I love watching Phillips’s sheepish reaction to you questioning a new load of trees being delivered to the property. It is quite delightful.
Everything looks amazing
Anna, Happy Mother's day I am sure you were treated well and had a fabulous day. Looking forward to hear news on the long houses and their future
Two lovely friends helping each other , awesome
I love the humor you two share. It is so good when having such a busy life as you both have together. Sorry didn't mean to sound like a therapist. You are both so creative. I like seeing the children in your videos sharing in your endeavors.

Careful of that back, Philip! And Anna,.I saw your IG Stories about the online course - congrats and I wish you all the success because you totally deserve it!
Absolutely fantastic. You have improved the environment no end. Keep up the good work.
Two more! Loved all the planting of plants. There’ll be a forest someday with Philipp’s name on it. A very sane obsession, I think. 😊
Nice video - spring is coming.
Philip, I hope you back is better soon. The online course sounds fantastic. ❤
I like the classical music you put with your blog.
You choose wonderful plants! I like very much the combination of betula, prunus and cornus. Now you can help them to grow better with stakes, so that the wind is not able to move them. Than the little roots are able to grow. Without stakes the roots would strip off again and again. You need 2 stakes for every tree or a slanting pole on a bush. After 2 years you can remove the stakes.
