After 3 years of reading NT Wright books, and Richard Middleton’s book on New Heaven’s and Earth and listening to the Bible Project Podcasts I finally got comfortable enough to share these views with my friends. Every single one of them shunned me for this. It has caused me to be very lonely because they’ve all blocked me so I’m pretty confused because it’s such good teaching. But I don’t really blame them either because they’re just defending their positions which is okay. Anyway great content here. Carmen Imes, Mike Heiser, the Bible Project and NT Wright.. they’ve opened my heart to the Word in ways I never thought possible. Thanks for this too!

Be encouraged!!!!! Your on the right track with N.T. Wright. I've looked at this eschatology stuff for 50 years and N.T. is spot on!!!! Don't worry about other people saturated with fleeting doctrines that will not stand the test of time!!! I've also been shunned and that's okay!!!!! Be patient and give an answer to whomever asks what is the hope that lies within you. Time is on your side!!!! When all these other end times scenarios crash and burn you'll be left standing!!! And that's an honor!!!!!!

Brothers ans sisters, the Lord showed an extraordinary vision, regarding the DAY OF THE LORD. I saw myself outside, among the people, and suddenly, an immense light, which encompassed everything, coming from above, of an unimaginable force and power, hit us unexpectedly. At that moment, I didn't have time for anything, I just managed to shout: OH MY GOD! I woke up instantly, and I heard a voice in my head (I knew it was the Lord), which told me: GOAL! And then I told him, remembering that in the BIBLE, it is written that the Lord's Day is a day of great auspiciousness, as it has never been before and will never be again, and I asked Him if this is what we must do, when we see this light. The LORD answered me that that LIGHT is HIM and that our GOAL from that moment, for salvation, is to CRY FOR HIM!! What I can tell you, after this experience, is that the ONLY thing we need is FAITH in the LORD. Believe me, nothing will save us on that day, except HIM! Glory to our Lord! AMEN!!

I was telling someone the heaven and the earth will come together and there will be a new earth like the garden of eden and we go there. The other person said , we’ll just for a thousand years and then we go to heaven. I didn’t think that was right. I was thinking God is creating a new earth for us the renewed humans . They did not agree with that. I mean why would God create a new earth and not put humans on it?

Yep. He comes back to rule. The idea that some disembodied existence in "heaven" is better than the new earth is an idea with gnostic roots. Gnostics believed the spirit realm was perfect and superior to the fallible and inferior physical realm. It's why the idea of God come as a man in Jesus was downright odious to them.

The new heaven and new earth is for real!!!!! Soooo, Jesus is on a mission, not to destroy the world but to recreate and rule over it!!! Ps.110 is a part of that future drama!!!! We will win down here!!!!! Jesus will empty out heaven at His 2nd coming! !!! The John 14 crowd will accompany Him as He descends and we who are alive will be met half way by Jesus as He continues His descent to establish, you guessed it, the new heaven and new earth. No such thing concerning a 7 year sabbatical in heaven to avoid a "great tribulation" and a boogieman anti-christ. That's all futurist's hogwash!!!!!!

When in reality, just as Jesus "came down" to us in His 1st coming so He will do the exact same thing in His 2nd coming. Heaven will at that time "empty" itself out and all will take part in the new heaven and new earth experience!!!!! The saints coming from heaven with Jesus are the John 14 crowd. Nothing to do with we who are alive!!!!!!

@@susanna6978 That's because people are being taught an "escapist" catching away scenerio called a "heaven bound" rapture!!!!! There is no such thing as a "heaven bound"rapture!!!!! There is a catching up to meet Jesus in the air and with Him descend earthward to embrace the new heaven and new earth and Ps 110.!!!! No caught up saint from 1Thess.4 will ever spend one second in heaven!!! You can take that' to the bank!!!!!

I was a big Tim fan when he was teaching a my church. As a new Christian it was helpful to find such a good teacher. By the way, we are in the short season of Revelation20

I take classroom online with Tim Mackie and Tim brings up a lot of other authors as well . Bible project podcasts is good as well. It’s a new paradigm now that’s coming out. God interference with cosmology. Its like the old teaching was good but not enough. Good stuff.

I think interpreting prophecy is hard and is only meant to make sense in retrospect. Everyone has an opinion and they might all be wrong. I’m reminded that the Pharisees really and sincerely thought they KNEW what Messiah would be like. They were so convinced that they missed Him. So it is good to familiarize yourself with the scripture-hey, maybe even memorize it. But keep an open heart when looking at current events through the lens of scripture. And keep other scripture in mind as well. Scripture interprets scripture. Love is what characterizes His believers. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. Love one another and you will be ready on the Day of the Lord.

If you descend from a Kong line of farmers did you fall from them or come from them? If Jesus is coming from a higher plane not by hight but by vibration, or holiness, when Jesus descends he "comes" from perfection to the imperfect, not a fall from a high place but a migration from realms.

@@OligosFew the kingdom of heaven is the same as the kingdom of God, and as the kingdom of christ. a kingdom has a king, and subjects. jesus is king, and we who follow him as Lord and king, are faithful servants in his kingdom which is now and forever. we enter that kingdom when we believe and are born again..."having been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of the son". this kingdom will be fully realized in the new jerusalem, new heaven, new earth. jesus ascended to the father and is seated on the throne of david, now, ruling and reigning, and waiting. we are waiting with him, suffering with him, with joy of the holy spirit. i do not look for jesus coming as a political king on earth, in a temple, on an earthly throne, in earthly jerusalem for 1000 yrs, be it literal or not. isn't that just what the jews expected at jesus first coming? that's a puny vision of the king of glory. been there done that. when jesus comes, i am out of here for good. have fun with that.

Exodus 13;16, Rev 13:16 & Matt 5:29 are about the same thing; SIN. What you fill your head with and give your time, money and strength proves who your God is. It's Jesus or the Beast. Well, we will just have to agree to disagree, then. If you listen carefully, thoughtfully and PATIENTLY to NT Wright's LONG and ERUDITE discourses, you will realize that this is THE MOST INFORMED mind on the planet, at this time, when it comes to historical, philosophic, linguistic and theological interpretation of the Canon, the Intertestamental material (including the Dead Sea Scrolls), the Early Church Fathers and contemporaneous Greek/Roman texts. A more saturated mind does not exist at this time. He and Heiser and Mackie serve as my personal 'trinity" in my latter days. I wish you well on your own journey. Really.

I know he's got teachings and I am listening many times. Lots he said here is nonsense. The fall of the elements, or the blood moon, or the sun going black, etc., is not metaphorical. The problem is that he is a cessationist and he is reflecting this view through his teachings and so in this video. Heiser or Tim on the other hand are not a cessationist, so I think when it comes to the supernatural, NT has no place here. Does he have his place in other subjects? Absolutely!

Actually NTW is not a cessationist. Quite the contrary. What is dangerous I suggest is to incorporate gnostic views into our understanding of judeo- christian understandings. I suggest that reading scripture without having regard to what its first hearers would have understood is not " knowledge"

N.T. Wright is absolutely correct in his exegesis of the rapture and other end time familiarities!!!!! The futurist dispensationalists are false at every turn, offering a totally misguided tour of 1st century happenings and deliberately chucking these events out into our time and space!!!!! They've been doing that for nearly 200 years!!!!! Their laughing all the way to the bank!!!!!!
