My daughter is 15 and has been using DAS since she was 5 years old do to her medical condition. This year they totally kicked her out and it has ruined her entire experience. She has had to fight through her condition just to be able to do a few of their rides and has had to return to our room because of their refusal to accommodate her. We loved Disney and appreciated and thought so highly of them for their support and treatment of our daughter. NOT ANYMORE… this is without a doubt our last trip to their parks. We have a granddaughter that we were intending to bring in the upcoming months, and now that’s a big fat NOPE. We will boycott their products, theme parks and motion picture. Good bye is how we part with friends. Good riddance is how we part with Disney. 😡

It really saddens me to hear your story. It takes a lot of courage to share this! Thanks for sharing! I heard many people aren't going anymore, and there is definitely a possibility the new change has a lot to do with it. In addition to the increasing cost. What are your thoughts on the Universal Studios disability accommodations?

I totally agree. Walt Disney wouldn't approve of what's happening. Especially how the new ride is not amazing and keeps breaking down.

Yes but if you can’t turn around to leave for an emergency fire or restroom. How can you stand in a long line? Hmmmmmmmmmm

I would suggest talking to the cast member at the entrance, and explain your disability, they might let you leave and come back. Or I would suggest schedule a video call with a Disney disability worker to discuss a personalized plan regarding your disability.

Also, the DAS pass is free, you don’t have to pay for it.

It changed unfortunately on May 20th. We have a video on the changes ☺️. I heard that they want it to be mainly for kids with disabilities like autism. I believe it's because the health company that Disney partnered with focuses on Kids with Autism or similar disorders. I also read and heard it's so specific that some people with Autism (kids or adults) don't get it. It's really sad and frustrating.

I pray that it doesn't too! 🙏🏾 I heard some people with Autism or parents of kids with Autism posted on social media that they didn't get approved. It's really scary and frustrating.

@@Loving_theJourney that’s not true. 27yr old and I got accepted very fast under the new guidelines. They want to know why you’re seeking accommodations, what it may look like if you were stuck in a line for a while, where else you seek accommodations out in your day to day life, etc. Disney isn’t making it just for kids, they’re just being more strict about not allowing physical disabilities since they have other accommodations for wheelchair users, those who need to use the bathroom frequently, etc. I highly suspect those that aren’t getting accepted, are just stating diagnosis and not stating why they’re requesting accommodations and what it would look like if they were to wait in a traditional line. Or when they do explain it they’re just saying things like “I don’t like it”.
