What a wonderful show; just like all the others from the 50s and 60s. Life will never be this normal again. Dean Martin and Danny Thomas were sensational. It's watching old shows like this, that proves just how disgusting, deplorable, and degenerate our society is today. For the most part it's already destroyed beyond repair.

Egads, this series was part of the phony illusion of what American society was and in no way reflected reality. Life wasn't like this for nearly everyone. Wish it was, but it wasn't. Both of the men you pointed out as great examples were both womanizers who cheated on their spouses. And so on. American society is in constant flux and isn't destroyed (beyond repair). It would be if this false world of this tv series reflected society today. The lid was blown off the social norm this series represented not due to just how disgusting, deplorable, and degenerate is today but because they couldn't sell it anymore. People had moved past it. If I remember right this series was replaced on the schedule by 'All in The Family'. Back then, people said that series was an indicator of the destruction of American society. I'm not a big fan of today's culture and it's complete brain-dead attempt at social enthusiasm. It reflects its lack of energy and motivation. I still can't figure the tattoo culture. It's the ultimate way of saying 'I'm in' without any unique or individual thought. Which, ironically, is what the Thomas show represented: blind adherence to a false standard. That culture and today's culture both have that in common.

Dean Martin had such enormous talent and appeal. He did it all from comedy and drama to singing and entertainment. There is nobody today who can come close.

I love Dean Martin! This is such a treasure. I can't imagine how wonderful it would have been to sit there and be serenaded so sweetly by Dean Martin. I always loved watching him.💖

Daisy. The shows like Make Room for Daddy, Dick van Dyke, and Andy Griffith are treasures!! I love 💞watching the old programs. I guess I’m just old-fashioned - but these shows were great family entertainment. It doesn’t get any better than this!!

Great show. A definite fave. Back in this day, a pack of very cool guys, ruled the entrainment world. Danny & Dean were among them. Fabulous group of men. They all shared the stage with each other, & supported each other. Loyal friends

Watching this episode an realize that not once is it mentioned that both Thomas and Martin were born and raised in Ohio. Steubenville and Toledo, I think. Both came from ethnic families, children of immigrants.

Actor Tommy Ivo's avocation was drag racing. From Wikipedia: "(Ivo) built monster four engined dragsters. Raced 36 cars in 12 different classes, became the first drag racer in the seven-second 1/4 mile before retiring from racing in 1982. Was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America and Don Garlits's International Drag Racing Hall of Fame"

Dean Martin? Back then, teenage girls didn't scream over Dean Martin. So squaresville! They went crazy over Bobby Darin, Paul Anka, Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell? Ricky Nelson had twelve hits between 1958 & 1959! Avalon had more. Fabian! Can't forget the King. (Elvis was busy serving his country. 🇺🇲 )
