It pissed me off when he laughed at the suggestion Carragher would make the current Liverpool squad. Carra knew how to fight and leave every ounce on the pitch. VVD could learn a lot from Carra’s mentality back then.

They do fight, it's not about bad attitude. I think the reason for their recent failures is the opposite. They wanted it all too much, quadruple dreams, the perfect sendoff for Klopp, and it just made them convulsive in their play. Too many mistakes up front, too many mistakes at the back. Overplayed and exhausted players playing with players post-injury, nobody really has a good rhythm (maybe except for Gakpo who's arguably been our best player these last 3 matches). I'm really sad that those dreams are getting shattered, but I do think Klopp and the team deserve and need our support now more than ever. It's hard to take these results as a fan, but imagine how devastated these ambitious, talented, hard-working guys on the pitch must feel.

Did so well with reserve team when so many key players were out. However the return of these players has had an adverse effect on the team, as they all seem out of form at the same time.

As a Liverpool captain, I’d expect a bit more from this man and I’m starting to see why Liverpool have declined and the way they have in the last couple of weeks. There’s no leadership from this man. He should not be the Liverpool captain, and to be honest this team have really let the fans down over the last couple of weeks with the performances and the manner in which they have behaved as such.

Honestly, I do believe that Trent does have this hunger for more and he is one of the very few players who actually played well (specially considering he came back from a longer injury). Us playing diabolical football is certainly not down to him

For a Side that was trailing by 3 goals and needed at least that to force extra time, they sure did not play like it. I actually thought Liverpool were pathetic, especially for a Team that costs 3 times to build what Atalanta's did.

Last week the damage was done? Dont remember that mentality against Barcelona, how the mighty have fallen. We believed against one of the top teams in the world but not against 6th place in Serie A? Sven's match is what i would prefer to remember about this season , and probably also the heroic efforts of the Academy players , who shone like bright stars of the future .

Awful team selection, awful subs and absolutely disastrous gameplay!! Was really painful and devastating to watch playing passing game in our own half without any urgency. We are too predictable for opponents. I have said it earlier and I wil say it again... Liverpool are much better as a team without Salah. Man hasn't beenn the same this season. Specially... After coming back from injury. Atlanta deserved to go through!! Congratulations to them!!

Liverpool was nowhere near to win this match not decisive at all. Salah clinical miss, soboslai not ready sloppy at times Atalanta joking and teaches liverpool how to get in the box while liverpool cannot even come in the opponent box. Midfield isn't that much better. We brought few players in, and Macca/Dom have shown some good in phases this season. But largely doesn't have any control of the game, no brave ball carriers and not enough creativity.

Not a billion pounds but several hundred pound squad, and they collapsed. VVD and Konate looked out of sorts at times. Attackers barely had an impact, nor did substitutes. Midfield was sloppy. Credit to Atalanta. Solid enough and even cteated a few chances. Pressed really well as well.

Probably a part of fatigue, they’ve had to play all season in 4 different competitions for most of it and have struggled to really maintain a consistent lineup because of the amount of injuries. Not excusing their awful performances at home but there’s gotta be a reason we went from scoring 3-4 goals every game to barely scraping a pen

VVD back to his best, but game already was lost last week. Today was about getting back to winning ways and showing desire and commitment.
