    There was never a secret with Easy. His position/character as the mascot was already explained by the group. He literally mentioned on record that he didn't write his rhythms. He didn't start as an mc. He grew into one. On the other hand, some rappers pass off the rhymes as their own. That is the big difference.

    Dre was still at Ruthless Records when Easy signed Above the Law in 1989. Dre did some production on their first album, Livin' Like Hustlers, which was released in 1990. I bought it when it first dropped. Excellent album!
