The cutscene is a plot armor tradeoff. The chance of injury that will last after usage of healing mechanics exponentially increases, however, you become practically immune to death unless the plot says otherwise

Assuming it auto reloads on death and he has no say in the matter, he has two choices, either keep reliving his death or reload the save he made before the cutscene making him go though the entire thing all over

This is an incredibly creative, well executed, creepy, WALL-E / Toy Story / Metal Gear Solid / Doom / Quake feeling creation that deserves way more credit and recognition IMO. People don't understand the amount of time and work that this 5:00 production requires. This takes AAA studios months and months, with a full team of people working on it around the clock. This is so impressive...SO impressive. Beautifully done!

They do this to the Blender Development Fund, multiple games and animations studios, and now, Corridor Digital.
