I have not found the source for that full comment. I can only find the "The customer is always right" phrase. " It was popularized by pioneering and successful retailers such as Harry Gordon Selfridge, John Wanamaker and Marshall Field. They advocated that customer complaints should be treated seriously so that customers do not feel cheated or deceived. This attitude was novel and influential when misrepresentation was rife and caveat emptor ('let the buyer beware') was a common legal maxim" Meaning take you customer complaints seriously, and be honest with them. This doesn't mean if they are being unreasonable or dishonest you have to believe them or give into them.

Iirc that's an extension that was added later in history so that asshole customers, management, etc. from abusing said saying. Don't really do shit though because that extension is still not used very commonly and is omitted to make it just "the customer is always right"

Her actual key to victory was that fact that Ben's "doctor" is not a customer of this shop, thus he can't be "always right".

Moving to Canada she cut acting ties both with VLDL and others ,and moving back isnt as stable for income as it outta be. That said - being part of a thing like VLDL aint to be taken lightly- VLDL is now a brand, they are a company- so its a full time involvement in logistics, acting and script writing (she is credited for doing those and maybe other things. ) TBH if more people chose to do work from Heart,rather than paycheck, maybe KZread and such would again be replaced by tv...But meh, we dont have cable these days, we sub and sponsor those ,who actually do content we want, rather than pure timefiller.

The original actual saying was "the customer is always right in matters of taste". The point being that a sales assistant shouldn't say "that's not a very good product" or "that hat won't suit you" but should simply accept the customer's taste and sell them whatever they want. The saying was shortened to make it more pithy because people were smart enough to get the implication. Sadly, idiots and Karens came along and started misusing the phrase to suggest they should automatically win arguments even if they are being flat-out moronic.

The full saying is "The customer is always right _in matters of taste_" meaning that if they want a pink PC with sprinkles on top, you're not allowed to call them an idiot for wanting that.

Won't lie I was waiting for Rowan to come out and "what's going on here?" but this was amazing.

Yes but they are not as hilarious and obvious as Ben. Closest I get is once a year maybe is someone that will try to negotiate a lower price and come back 3 times after to see if I changed my mind. I always respond by saying we have the same price for everyone so it is equally fair for all. Some think indie stores operate like garage sales and like all the other stores.

LOL i had one customer trying to return their 1 year old unopened product that they found at their mothers house while spring cleaning. They asked to get a refund since they didnt use it, when i said no, they blamed me for them having to be stuck with it. xD xD. I am going to start calling them Bens instead of Karens xD xD

This is genius! At first I thought she may have had another personality within her but this was actually very clever to use against entitled customers!

I am so glad this wasn't another skit where Rowan just comes out being his Rowan character and gives the customer what they want and playing the idiot manager. Glad you took this in a new direction.
