The Current State of GT86 Style Drifting (Machine Check)
I interview GT86 and BRZ drivers to understand why they chose to drift a ZN6 car instead of something more popular like a Nissan 240SX or 350Z. The drivers break down how they chose to style their drift cars and talk about some of the things that inspired the path they chose to take. Would you ever consider drifting an FRS or BRZ? With all of the new aero coming out of Japan, many people are abandoning their plans of drifting a 90s Japanese car to hop on the ZN6 train. This video takes place at Knuckle Up which is a drift club in Houston Texas targeted at people that enjoy the styling of early 2000s D1SL and D1GP Japanese drift cars.

As a 20 yr old 86 owner that wants to get into drifting, this video just hit the spot. s13s are getting expensive and I love the new age looks of the ZN6 as a drift chasis. Good shit man I'm a new fan of this channel for sure. Just don't sell out and buy a silvia when you move to Japan 😂😂

Just to name a few, Origin is dropping new aero, Thrash is currently developing a d style kit and Kabuki mirror is making bolt on ganadors for the zn6. Also there are a lot of parts available in Japan that have never even touched US soil. You can find a lot of cool stuff in Option magazines.

I love looking at these vids, been wanting an FRS since it came out back in the early 2010s. I've owned two WRXs but man It sucked not being able to slide around town like the rest of my friends. The s chassis drift tax is crazy, so this is definitely a great alternative! It's dope that you guys are here in Texas too(I'm a north Texan resident), hopefully I'll see you and these other dudes at knuckle up TX later this year

I recently got into this chassis and am looking to get into my local drifting events in Ohio and am also currently building a simulator setup. This video was everything I needed. It's good to know all these dudes can get it done with such simple setups. I also appreciate that you asked what advice they'd give for people new to the chassis. What advice would you give to someone who just moved to an area and wants to get into the drift scene, but knows no one and has never hit the track before?

Im glad you found the video man that was exactly my purpose of making it! Please watch my "How to drift a GT86" video as it expands further on some of the stuff we talked about in this one! Most of us did not know anyone in drifting and all found each other at a drift practice day or a local event. My advice is to not try too hard to make it in with the cool older guys but to find guys your skill level to hang out and grow together with.

I'm out of Conroe so i go up to speedsportz sometimes. I just got a 86 and the one thing I never hear anybody talk about is reliability. How Long and hard/ Laps can go you go before you start breaking stuff likes axles.. cracked subframe.. Maybe Over heating. what is the main mechanical concern with this car and do people drift their 86 while daily driving it.
do you guys pull the abs fuse to remove the traction control? i dont wanna sit there and pedal dance everytime i spin out and stall my car on the track

Last car was not LS swapped. There were two guys with the same car, color, and bodykit at one point. Noah had an FA20 and Brad is the one with the LS swap. His car is now white and Noah sold his car.
