The Curious Case Of The Velveteen Dream
Ойын-сауық
At one point many touted him to be "the one" now he just remains a what if. The Velveteen Dream came into the WWE and took audiences by storm. At age 22 he had everything. figured out from the character to the storytelling to the presentation. WWE legends were looking at a high ceiling for the young stud. In 2020 allegations were made against Patrick Clark, and from there a downward spiral began for him. This is the curious case of the Velveteen Dream

Bro, I agree. I was a huge fan of the character. I still go back and watch his Takeover matches.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone who is extremely talented and knows their talented, choose to make dumb decisions and throw all their talent down the drain. Velveteen Dream will always be one of the biggest "what ifs" in the history of the wrestling business.

I had the pleasure of going to NXT Takeover New York in 2019, one of my all time favorite life experiences. I’d have to say that Velveteen Dream got THE biggest pop of the night, watching it on video doesn’t do it justice, he was insanely over with that crowd. A big reason why he got so over was because he was different than everyone else, the character of the Velveteen Dream could’ve been the biggest star in the company. If all these incidents hadn’t happened, I could see Dream being in the spot that LA Knight is in now. But he threw it all away. He is still young so hopefully he can turn things around in his personal life.
Amazing video would love if you did more😊
Velveteen had that charisma the type of charisma we only saw from steve,Rocky and cena. He was definitely the next big thing.
He's today's Shawn Michaels.
remember just watching a clip of what he was doing in nxt and just thought that man looks like a star already and just different reminded me of how important having a great character is in wrestling rather than being another wrestler he got my attention right away very unique
This is gonna go down as one of the saddest downfalls. The dude had decades of being a main eventer ahead of him. He had it all. Guy was incredible. Now this. I really hope somehow things turn around.
Top 3 what if all time for wrestling
Speaking of him holding the North American Championship,he’s still longest reigning at holding it at 209 days
At one point in time I actually could see dream vs cena at a wrestle mania or summer slam
I want him back on tv. he is the kind of wrestler we need. this man devoted his life to wrestling. it's all he knows. don't take it from him.❤
Velveteen Dream and Johnny Gargano were my favorite wrestlers from that era of black and gold NXT.
I was one of the people that thought he should have won TE… so when I saw him getting an NXT push and everyone co-signing him it felt like a personal win. It’s sad to see that his demons overpowered everything he had going for him.
So let me get this straight, EC3 found Velveteen's phone in HIS bathroom recording his penis as he used the restroom. Instead of confiscating the phone, deleting recordings, and confronting Dream and kicking him out, he decides to only delete his recording and put the phone back on the counter to potentially record more people? That story doesn't even make sense and it makes EC3 an accessory because he not only found out about the "secret recording," but he actually admitted to putting the phone back to record some more. He's clearly lying about what happened that night.

Man, it’s very sad about Velveteen Dream( Patrick Clark) because he definitely would have been world champion, and to headline Wrestlemania. At least at 2:14, MJF is doing well so far. By the start of January 1st 2024, Max could stay at AEW or make the jump. That’s why wrestling is awesome.
Great upload
There have been wrestler who came back from drugs and other bad situations. I hope he can redeem his attitude, and return the Dream back to WWE like others have.
Soon as I saw this I just had to clean because I loved velveteen dream from when he was on Tough Enough. I remember being pissed he got fired after the now Sonya Deville, & I was waiting for him to make it to the main roster where he was destined to become a SUPERSTAR. What a shame his personal life ruined him🤦🏾♂️

He was my favorite wrestler in WWE. So sad to see his downfall. Would love for him to make a comeback
Absolutely loved the persona… such a shame as HHH would’ve likely hired him back if he kept himself clean
I always felt that dream could’ve truly been the new face of the company. In my opinion his character was the only one that felt “larger than life”. With the world promoting and accepting the LGBT movement he just always seemed to be the natural choice for this day and age. It sucks that there was a lot more going on than we knew. I hope he pulls himself together and figures himself out. Everyone needs to remember that he is still a young man figuring this strange world just like the rest of us.
Damn that audition tape just makes it hurt even more
The arrest he could come back from. He could even possibly come back from the allegations, but the ECW story stacked on top of it plus the hard to work with. A few years if people give him a chance then I think he could crawl way back to the top.
If any thing he needs to go indie or underground. Stay away from the drugs, ignore Twitter and get back on his feet. I liked the guy and will miss him despite what others may say
Really sad what happened to this guy. So talented.
He would've been ruling the wrestling world, its a shame what happened with him
Let’s get this straight right - he got fired for allegations that weren’t even true at all? Nor confirmed? The only reason I could see him getting fired was the use of drugs but then again alot of WWE superstars did drug’s and they didn’t get fired, I mean look at Jeff Hardy, After he was caught the first time he continued to still wrestle. So practically it’s hypocritical at this point 🤷♂️
What's interesting is if Dream was around in 2002 around the time Randy Orton was doing similar things he probably would've remained in the company
