The Curious Case Of The Velveteen Dream

Ойын-сауық

At one point many touted him to be "the one" now he just remains a what if. The Velveteen Dream came into the WWE and took audiences by storm. At age 22 he had everything. figured out from the character to the storytelling to the presentation. WWE legends were looking at a high ceiling for the young stud. In 2020 allegations were made against Patrick Clark, and from there a downward spiral began for him. This is the curious case of the Velveteen Dream

I think he's done I hate to say it but their is too much dirt on his name, if he's innocent of the texting minors thing then that's a dang shame that he didn't have any proof but innocent or guilty it is his fault because he was the one who (according to Dream) let people know on his IG story that he will open up his dm's. But the ec3 one, both messed up, on hand why didn't EC3 confront Dream about it right then, then on the other hand Dream didn't provide enough answers like (according to ec3) why was the phone propped up selfie style and recording.

I'm one of the few people probably who never believe on the SPEAK OUT movement, a lot of people who got accused and call out there got their careers destroy and many where never prove to be 100% TRUTH, this mess up hard people, and I hate when we see people who are talented get destroy by this, not everyone have the mental attitude to get back up after some real nasty allegations are toss at you, specially on this day and age......I not defend Velveteen for all the others accusations, those actually got more weight coming from people who work with him and he defined had and attitude....but be honest, WHO WRESTLER or big star don't have an attitude, just look at people like HBK or recently CM Punk, this is a business of egos, drugs, alcohol and all that stuff after all, maybe with time he could have turn this around if he was keep working and the company just keep him out or never bring him back as fast as they did....his story now will forever be one of the major What if? in Wrestling and I just hope this story not end in tragedy and he get the help he need now, he clearly have huge internal problems and because of the stupid allegations NO ONE is trying to help him or getting close to make him see that he need the help now.

I had the pleasure of going to NXT Takeover New York in 2019, one of my all time favorite life experiences. I’d have to say that Velveteen Dream got THE biggest pop of the night, watching it on video doesn’t do it justice, he was insanely over with that crowd. A big reason why he got so over was because he was different than everyone else, the character of the Velveteen Dream could’ve been the biggest star in the company. If all these incidents hadn’t happened, I could see Dream being in the spot that LA Knight is in now. But he threw it all away. He is still young so hopefully he can turn things around in his personal life.

So let me get this straight, EC3 found Velveteen's phone in HIS bathroom recording his penis as he used the restroom. Instead of confiscating the phone, deleting recordings, and confronting Dream and kicking him out, he decides to only delete his recording and put the phone back on the counter to potentially record more people? That story doesn't even make sense and it makes EC3 an accessory because he not only found out about the "secret recording," but he actually admitted to putting the phone back to record some more. He's clearly lying about what happened that night.

I was relieved to find out that WWE retained him to get a chance; but I utterly hated the Velveteen Dream gimmick... at first. It brought up way too many memories of Orlando Jordan's gimmick in TNA; and I felt they were saddling the guy with something that'd be an anchor around his neck. Then I saw his feuds with Ricochet, Black and Ciampa and I was totally invested. It's nothing short of tragic for things to end up the way they did.

I always felt that dream could’ve truly been the new face of the company. In my opinion his character was the only one that felt “larger than life”. With the world promoting and accepting the LGBT movement he just always seemed to be the natural choice for this day and age. It sucks that there was a lot more going on than we knew. I hope he pulls himself together and figures himself out. Everyone needs to remember that he is still a young man figuring this strange world just like the rest of us.

Let’s get this straight right - he got fired for allegations that weren’t even true at all? Nor confirmed? The only reason I could see him getting fired was the use of drugs but then again alot of WWE superstars did drug’s and they didn’t get fired, I mean look at Jeff Hardy, After he was caught the first time he continued to still wrestle. So practically it’s hypocritical at this point 🤷‍♂️
