Stops his show to stop a guy from choking another guy… Imagine carrying on a show while TEN PEOPLE are killed from compression asphyxiation. Which I think is absolutely insane!! I was there; the guy who put a chokehold is a complete bully. He was all the way to the front and expected absolutely no one to come in contact with him or the woman he was with(at a rock show!!!). I personally bumped into him and the guy was super aggressive. This is the typical abusive male Karen that constantly goes off on people for no reason. He shouldn’t have been there.

It was his daughter and the long-haired guy that was in the Chokehold was trying to be inappropriate with her and Ian originally did not know that but figured it out and kicked him out.

Saw these guys about 12-13 years ago in San Fran, Ian came off the drum riser funny and broke his leg...after about three minutes conferring with someone off stage, he was helped to sit on the riser, and completed the set. Class act. I think we would've understood if he had bailed to the hospital...

😮 How in the heck he could even see what was going on out there is pretty impressive. That and the fact that he jumps into the crowd and the band just keeps playing like..ok then, he’ll be back. 😅

I saw The Cult open for Metallica back in 1989. Floor seats at Richfield Coliseum, which is gone now. Show was sick and I was this close watching Ian perform. He’s a true showman, hot af, with an awesome sound and band. So I already knew he was cool, but now I’m realizing another reason to love him!!! 💖👩🏼‍🎤✌️

This wonderful person is Ian Astbury. He is not just the lead singer for the legendary band the Cult, but a true gentleman who took it upon himself to intervene when a bully narc. was physically assaulting someone in the crowd. Ian didn't have to do a thing and could have easily called for security, but no he took care of business himself.

Even though it must be very difficult, it is nice to see that bands are starting to pay attention to what goes on in the audience.

I've always enjoyed the Cult and Ian Asburys vocals. Obviously with security around him he wasn't worried about being harmed. It was very considerate and caring.

He clearly cares about the people who support him. Didn't even hesitate, the second he seen it he handled it.

I had this happen to me almost 2years ago by my landlord at the time. He kept asking me out and my repeated refusals almost cost me my life. Later I would learn that he has done this to other people too. He has never been charged even though I tried. If I was to tell you more in depth the things this bully in my town has done and gotten away with too it would make your blood boil!
