The Criminals Running Our Food Chain | Food Fraud: An Organised Crime? Documentary

Horse meat labelled as beef. Honey diluted with cheap sugar syrups. Counterfeit extra-virgin olive oil. Food crime is a multi-billion dollar industry affecting everything from the cheapest to most expensive ingredient. 10% of what we eat is thought to be adulterated. “What we know for sure is that food fraud is growing exponentially and it’s more and more worrying,” states one consumer advocate.
Criminal syndicates are infiltrating the global food supply chain, undermining the ability of consumers to trust what is on the label and what ends up on their plate. In Italy, entire sectors of the food industry are controlled by the mafia. All over the world, well-organised criminal networks work together to penetrate complex supply chains. Scams range from the intentional mislabelling of inferior products in order to pass them off as premium items, to the substitution of one food stuff for something else entirely. The profits are enormous. But what are the risks to the consumer? How can we identify food fraud? And what can be done to stop it?
In this investigation, we follow the food fraud brigades and reveal how little we know about what we’re eating. From the olive groves of Italy to the fish markets of France and the abattoirs of Poland, this film takes you on a culinary journey of a very different kind. A global investigation into the counterfeit food industry.

People better start growing their own food. My family has been preparing for a shortage by planting fruit trees, growing vegetables and nut trees. I started this about 4 years ago. Most people will likely think I’m insane for saying this, but my Grandmother who passed away in 2008 came to me in a dream and told me that I better prepare for some HARD times. I bought another freezer and refrigerator to deep freeze my harvests. I now want my own livestock.

You have to be careful as you can have lead in your soil, from lead paint. People often grow right next to their building or fences. Those in the past could have been painted with lead paint. Even chain link fence can't be trusted, because before it was there, there may have been a wooden lead painted fence. You simply must test for lead. Also, do not use bone meal as a phosphorus fertilizer source. That will likely be full of lead. Lead is serious. 412,000 American die early from low level lead exposure. That is approaching the number of deaths from tobacco.

When you live right next to the crop dusters, the burning of the fields yearly, the massive pesticide run off into local water ways used for drinking water. In the US a majority of the food industry was bought by tobacco industries. That’s when foods started having addicting chemicals purposely placed in foods. With their access to Government officials through lobbying, makes it easier to pay for laws to include non-food stuff and ingredients. It’s the same tactics the tobacco industry uses. So what needs to happen is to cut lobbying and have term limits for government official.

It's interesting European people in the Auburn's get ahold of good American quality products.. Anheuser-Busch as you mention Bud light, Ben & Jerry ice cream 🍦 are just two of them that European companies have gained control of. Now there's animosity said lease between consumers and these companies. Maybe just maybe part of this one world order thing they've been talking about. United States there is another organized crime syndicate Sicilian families are concerned of. You to call the Texas syndicate. Although they go buy a few other names. It originated out of the Texas penitentiary system over decades. There are other organizations that are criminal organizations as well. I deviated from my initial thought but there is a plan that is being implemented. I picked to respond to yours because your budlight reference. I find it entirely intriguing that you said it. I'm assuming that you're overseas in Europe. And you are overseas in the United States. I don't drink. But to watch a great American brand new flush down the toilet is despicable. Inbev is doing the flushing. I see it as an attack or anything that should we say is manly men and are American. Now Ben & Jerry's European owners haven't called to say that we should give everything back to the Indians. My great-grandmother was one-hundred-percent Indian. She lived on American reservation. I figure I'm a white boy like anybody else. Here tracing your ancestry and it won't all be Italian maybe English may be French or whatever original nationality it will be a mixture in most cases. I look through and I find it very interesting because things and 1/4 world start and spread to other parts. Did you know that our second biggest pork processing plant in the United States is owned by the Chinese government. Because in China there is no separation between government and business. So during the pandemic are talking about how this place was processing more pork. Well then it came out that almost all the poor Chris going to China!! Car shells were sitting empty and we were shipping American fork by groves mainland China. Talk about criminal organizations controlling the food. I will arbitrarily stop there because you did not ask for my comments. If you're from Europe or not I would be greatly appreciative if you tell me. It fascinates me that in this short period of time the Bud light reference comes up. I don't hold it against you for any reason. My wish would be that and either Bush become such a horrible friend that inbev sells it off and it becomes an American brand again. There's something to be said about keeping your culture and traditions alive. Thank you for taking time to read this I'll be glad to reply back and forth if you're interested.

@@CAROLDDISCOVER-FINDER2525 1. IMO we are in a fight for our individual freedom. If we permit the WEF to proceed with their ESG agenda and the Central Banks with their CBDCs then we, the 99% will be truly enslaved for generations to come. No country in the world will be exempt. I referenced BudLight as an example of the power of consumer boycott. I think that it is crucial that all of humanity must take a stand now, in this time, to bring to heel the megalomaniacs in big business and big governments. Alexander Haig is reported to have said " let them march in protest as long as they pay their taxes" So protests don't work but BudLighting them did most effectively. Our greatest weapon we have is if we can bankrupt their companies and destroy their share prices. We as consumers need to vote with our wallets. Similarly we have the power also to Gamestop companies on the right side if righteousness. We have the power to support these company and make them succeed despite big business fixing and manipulating the markets 2. I'm neither from Europe nor the USA. I'm from Africa.

When I was listening the Polish journalist, my ex boyfriend's experience in Melbourne, Australia came to my mind. He was an air-conditioning engineer. He used to see some of kitchens and some Chinese restaurant kitchen he used to tell me and then saw it with my own eyes beyond 3rd word conditions. They were doing the dish washing in plastic container where the water was so dirty. Frozen meat left on the floor. I told my boyfriend then I would inform the authorities for inspection. He said don't bother because the restaurant gets informed before the inspection and probably have been inspected thousands of times already. They pay a little money and keep operating. And he was right, even after 3 years I informed the autorities the restaurant was still operating and still the same, dish washing in plastic container filled with dirty water 😀 Also, not happening only in Europe. The consumer affairs both in the USA and Australia is not looking after the consumers. For example; in the fresh juice section in the supermarket, you would see a cartoon with Blueberry picture with a label "''Blueberry juice "" Turn over to check the ingredients list; majority apple and pear juice and 2 % Bluberry concentrate.. Another eexample again in fresh juice section: a cartoon with spinach and cucumber photo and write up Pure Vegetable Juice. Turn over to read the ingredients; majority is fruit juice made from apple and pear, also little bit carrot and 4 percent spinach and cucumber. How Australian Consumer Affair , Food Safety Standard could allow such thing ! A diabeties patient buying that juice as vegetable juice might end up in the hospital. In Australia, fake food labelling is a common practice.

I live in California, my neighbors grow olives and we help harvest every year. We buy our olive oil from them only, they have the olives pressed by a local press we know. When we first moved here and tasted the oil we realized we had been eating fake oil our whole lives. The flavor is so much stronger than store bought olive oil. Most of that oil is Canola oil, which has little flavor.

Horses, cared for, easily live 25 years. People who breed and sell them have no idea how many owners they'll eventually have and ultimately where they'll end up...often in an auction yard bound for slaughter. The horse racing "industry" is a large contributor to the flow of unwated horses (when they dont win enough races). Much loved family members are sold or given away when kids go off to college. If aging horses can no longer be ridden or are incurring vet costs..once loving owners become fiscally minded and seek a more "appropriate" home..into the hands of "kill buyers" as they're known. These magnificent animals dont deserve this horrific end. First place to start? Horse racing!! It breeds thousands of thoroughbreds every year...all for purposes of gambling. The 3-yr -olds don't do well? Off to the house of horrors. Unconscionable. Everyone should stop attending and/or betting on horses!

People should stop going to all restaurants and stop shopping at all major supermarkets that are filled with highly processed main brand 'food' products.

Food supply is best handled by smaller companies producing the food for local use. Then the people making the food know the people eating the food, and vice versa. Less cheating on food is likely to occur because of it. With global food production, and the food being shipped off to people you'll never know and never see, you'll find more people willing to bend their ethics for cash.

I though i was just stressed from work. I remember not cleaning my face and feel itchy so i got out of bed and took a mirror and surprised to see my face so red down to my neck. Though it was almost midnight i went out and prayed that there still an open store in our place. Thankfully, i bought something sweet, candy and 7 up or sprite and consumed everything. I only went back to bed when relieved. I found out the next day from friends that greedy businessmen store fish in iced water with formalin to lengthen its shelf life.

Like, for instance, since people here seem to not know, there is the The Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FPLA or Act) of 1967 that states nothing can be sold in the US without meeting requirements of that act. Then the fda has to verify they meet those. Pretty simple.

Serial killers have already done this, and have served it up to guests at BBQ's, etc. Straight human flesh would probably taste suspicious, and bad, but mixed, people have enjoyed it, not realizing that human flesh was ground up in the mix. Internal organs as well. Yuck!!! Pure evil.😢
