The point : There's no beef in games nowadays, everyone is so happy This is so damn true....I can hardly find a game that gives that sense of rivalry, like razor, Ryo, Darius etc in nfs games, even Mercer in heat lol. This is part of what made games so much more alive and entertaining, you felt the rush and anger.....not just relax drive the countryside.....Very unpopular opinion, but i loved dirt 5 which people shat on, just because it made me feel like the old days... Games nowadays has lost the soul, especially by tryharding to be the best MULTIPLAYER game in the gaming industry....single player focus is slowly fading away.....and then there are content creators and other people with opinions so strong, that it feels like a sin to have a completely opposite opinion. You my guy, made a really good video and spoke the truth. This is real content, dont be afraid to say what you have in your mind, all games dont have to be the best....

It is all because of Licenses really. There are Several Car Companies out there who just do not want to be Associated with "Beef" , for it Genuinely Damages their PR images to be seen to be associated with "Gangs" and "Hostility", and that PR Damage really does causes them to Lose Sales in China and the Middle East, which, as sales absolutely Nosedive in the West, are becoming Vital Markets, its why so many now refuse to license to Games that contain Police Chases as well, because "Resistance against authority" is an unspeakable Taboo in China, and in Several of the more Strictly Fundamental Middle Eastern Nations (such as Saudi Arabia, a *Massive* Market for Car Companies Now!), so Games with Police Chases are becoming PR Poison! Several Car Companies are also demanding a 3 Rating (so they are not in Motorfest as a result, even though the Game, going on what beta testers have said, is only really a patch away from a 3 Rating (meaning those Brands would License and the Game would also see increased Sales Numbers) they just need to remove a couple of the Songs!) now as they are worried that the Higher Ratings will Damage their PR Images in Europe, Damage they do not want with Sales in Europe not doing well, and "Beef" is not really allowed at that Rating unless it is handled *very* Carefully, it can be done (F1 2021, GRiD Legends...) but it needs very good Writing indeed to pull it off. The Days of Most Wanted, pretty much, are long gone, for better or worst depending on Personal Stance (I openly admit my own personal stance is "Good Riddance", but YMMV for everyone else) the Car Companies have said No, so, as long as Car Companies remain so PR Paranoid as their big Sales are now in Extremely Strict and very conservative Nations in Asia and the Middle East, it is kind of "Horizon or Bust" in terms of Licenses, as it is the Easiest way to Placate the Car Companies Also, well, with Horizon being a Record Breaking Seller for a Car Racing Game, it is kind of a Win-Win to copy it, the Publisher gets big sales and keeps the Car Companies Happy at the same time! it makes superb Financial Sense! also, TBH, now NFS has scored its Fifth sales *Flop* in a Row, I can well and truly see, if EA's Shareholders do not just order the Series axed due to Unprofitability, even the next NFS Game also being a "Horizon Clone" in order to Increase the Games Sales Potential and to make getting Licenses (as EA have openly admitted that Unbound was a Licensing Nightmare with Multiple Brands Refusing to take Part!) a bit Easier. However, I do agree that the Focus on Multiplayer Everything to the Point Single Player is not even Supported by some Games anymore, which I actually Personally consider to be downright Discriminatory, is absolutely *Ruining* Games, I really am getting fed up of being treated as a 7th Class Citizen and being locked out of Half the Game because Multiplayer's extreme Toxicity is not a good Partner for my Mental Health Issues! and it is getting Me down. Sadly, Licensing means that Festival Racers are here to Stay, but, I would love to see a Single Player Oriented One one day, F1 2021 and F1 2023 have both shown that a Story, so long as the Screenwriter is very talented and can balance the needs for Drama with not upsetting the Car Companies (imagine the damage that would be done if, say, M-B, Refused to License? as their MGU's Power half the Grid!! ) and keeping on the Right Side of the PEGI, can be done at a 3, so there is no real Excuse to Dump Single Player entirely, other than Developers just, for whatever Reason, refusing to hire a Talented Screenwriter and either doing it in House or Hiring a Diversity Hire Writer which is what has resulted in this overdose of "Peppa Pig Dialogue" that has infested Games across *all* Age Ratings, even all the way up at 18 ("My Face is Tired..." who even?), not just 3, in recent Years, and well, you just do not a good campaign with writing like that :( so they just get Lazy and drop the Single Player almost as fast as I lose Interest due to the Game not having Single Player.

Whenever i went into debate with braindead GT, Assetto or Forza fanboys i just said "Would you play GTA to be stuck in traffic jam and work 8 hour shift, go home and repeat, instead of action packed story?" And also why NFS always sells no matter how dead it is; they all want the good part which is, obviously the story no matter how cringey or awful it is, it's still gonna sell and sell because it's THE only racing game that does that kind of thing.

We are talking about a sense of rivalry & competition or the fact that not everyone has to get along perfectly. It seems like there are no characters anymore that are meant to be unlikable, that you want to beat. Those things have absolutely no effect on car sales and they are what all sports, including motorsports, live off.

@@pkslush I mainly wanted to Point out why Festival Racers are here to Stay, and why I think Even NFS is going to turn into a Festival Racer if EA has any Sense! Underground Racers are no longer Profitable, Festival Racers however are a License to Print Money! so it is more Sensible to go Festival Racer for the Next Game. On Beef, it actually is a Licensing issue, as Pointed out, there are some Car companies out there who will not License to Age Ratings above a 3 as they are worried their already poor sales in Europe will be Damaged by being in a Game with too high an Age Rating. Now, although Motorfest is Rated a 12, it is, from what I have seen, pretty clear that Ubisoft was aiming for a 3 like Horizon's, according to beta testers, they just need to patch out some Offending Songs on the Rock and Rap Playlists and they should get down to a 3. One Patch basically! They should do so IMO, the lower age rating would increase the Games sales Potential and Help to gain even more licenses. This is where "Beef" comes in, the PEGI 3 Rating is *Extremely Strict* , threats, over aggressive Characters, overly Harsh Insults, etc, these are all forbidden at that Age Rating, so Your Typical "Razor" like Character of the Old Days is going to result in a 16 under the current, Much Stricter Post 2018 Rules, maybe even an 18 owing to the "Death threats" he gives the Player! This is another Reason why Games are going down the "everyone is your friend" Route, because there is that Risk, with an Extremely Hostile Character, that it could be Placed under an 18 Rating, causing en- masse Licensing Pull Outs and next to no Sales, as Car Racing Game sales drop off Faster than an overheating F1 Pirelli above a 12! Now, Beef *can* be done at a 3 , as I pointed out, F1 2021 and 2023 both Proof that Beef, Argument, Hostility, Aggression, Utterly Vile Characters, etc, *can* be done at a 3, However, it Requires a *very* Talented Writer who can balance the Games need for Drama, with the Extremely Tight Regulations of a 3 (to keep the Car Companies Happy) to Pull it off. Sadly, as Pointed out, Most Developers either write the Script themselves, often having never done so before (so no Experience nor talent for it) or they "Diversity hire" on a Tweet that contains the "Woke" Politikal Rhetorik that the Elites who control the Publishers demand, and often get someone with no Writing Talent at all as a Result! This not only Results in Cringe Dialogue, but it also means they have no Idea how to Balance the need for Drama with the Extremely Tight Restrictions of a 3 Rating as demanded by some of the Car Companies. Basically, Beef has Vanished due to a Lack of Talent among the Writers, meaning they do not know how to Write Conflict between Charachters without Angering the Car Companies and the Publisher by sending the Age Rating Skyrocketing! so, to avoid the Risk of License Removal, or the Publisher Cancelling ("We asked for a 3! not a 16! 16 is Not Profitable!) the Project, they just make everyone super Friendly and Inoffensive, so there is no Risk of Angering the Car Companies or the Publisher due to too High and Age Rating. Game Development is very, very Complicated!

💀 I mean yeah I suppose... can always be a BETTER Forza tho, definitely giving Forza the most competition ever with it's full game, but to jump into the Festival racer rather then try and inovate that space is... unfortunate

not only that its a festival racer, but every single small detail was copied from forza, like the difficulty menu or loading screens or the rewind.. How come if they are gonna add all this why not the auction house? Especially since half the car list in the crew motorfest is just weird random "Edition" cars that can only be obtained once and thats it

I've played both. Forza Horizon and Test Drive unlimited games are not the same. At all. They're both open world and focus on online but that's where the similarities end.

Racing games are getting less creative nowadays. Studios keep recycling the same features or copy other studios ideas for the intention of attracting more players

I noticed some oddities with the handling. Steering the car from one drift into another doesn't really work, even with all assists turned off. It slows the car's rotation and steering once it straightens out. Also, wheelspin doesn't cause the car to slip down slopes. Wheelspin doesn't seem to have real inertia.

Motorfest being a Horizon clone makes it perfect for people who only have a ps5.

And I see this as an absolute win. Forza has been in stagnation for a long time, they felt too safe out there cuz NFS couldn't even be a proper rival to the Horizon series. Maybe now Forza will step up it's game + the more decent racing games we get the better.

Theres seemingly alot of mechanics tht was copied from horzion including ditching the "back on track" for "reverse action" cam. Hell i heard the donut dlc is even coming for tcm...

Only Festival racers I tolerate is Horizon

Mate, what are you talking about? The festival literally already existed in both of The Crew Games. Plus every PlayStation player is very very happy about something similar like Forza. I do agree about the story (keep it more gritty) and I could kinda do without the festival (kinda on the fence)

Copying forza is the best thing they ever did with the game..the crew 2 felt like straight crap with its physics and handling and the city idea was good but it just wasnt it with the visuals and graphics, it felt plain and thats where they new map comes in to give it some life..motorfest is def better than the crew 2 but imo its still shit and needs to copy forza more with the car handling especially…I personally feel like it would be better if they remove the whole drifting class and just make it so that we can drift the regular cars whenever we want Edit: plus how are you going to upgrade from the previous the crew and the mirrors still dont work just like the previous game?? Car games these days is about details, physics and handling although they got the best car sounds

If you’re going to do a festival racer, at least do something to make it more unique from Forza. As far as I’m aware, there’s no storyline or narrative. They should bring back cop chases to the game. I mean they already have intercepter units, including the Crown Victoria in the car list they can make some game modes out of it, like a cops and robbers mode, like the first game did. Not to mention the menus are very annoying. Back in the first game, you didn’t have a pause menu. You had a cellphone, which was PERFECT. And the fact that everything is in one menu. Gone are the days where you go to car dealerships to buy cars, go to part shops to customize/upgrade your cars, like you could in the first game. Instead, everything is in a menu. And on top of that, all of the features are missing from the first game, like the freedrive stunts, finding hidden wrecks, doing certain objectives to unlock special license plates, etc. It just seems like wasted potential, in my opinion.

I was honestly really bored of forza horizon but when i played this i really enjoyed my time. It feels like I actually have to play the game to get my cars but its not hella tedious like in some other games. The map is beautiful and colorful unlike the fh5 map.

still find it funny that Forza Horizon fans call this a FH Clone/Ripoff/ copy, when Forza series in general was a copy itself, Playground games took the inital car game idea was taken from Project Gotham Racing games when its studio *Bizarre Creations* was purschased by Activision, then the open World theme was taken from Test Drive Unlimited because the track focused theme from Project Gotham Racing was already used for their other copy, Forza Motorsport, and the festival concept was taken from NFS Pro Street, talk about who copied who now😬and if you dont belive me, then make your own research to confirm what i said, just like i did my research and found that😂

Festival racing games are so boring

I will be honest, i disagree the game it's a Clone because we have more disciplines than Forza Horizon but the focus feels that the took the game and make their own idea. But what i really see it's that i miss content in this game. Do i need for example PS + for play Demolition Royale and The Grand Race?

I don't get where this notion that we have "too many festival Racers" comes from... It's literally just Forza, I mean If you're on Playstation, what festival racer do you have?

​​@@c01onel I hate to be those guys but if anything, that gameplay really had serious red flags all over it, with the obvious one being having no release date shown whatsoever at the end of the gameplay stream And before you even start with "muh delayed game good rushed game bad" ting an, I'd like to point out the whole showcase generally feels like like a quick way to convince people it's totally not the day before after years of being radio silent about the game, where the developers are currently on protest strike or whatever after being basically crunched like they're chinese romushas back in ww2

In festival and other things? Definitly yes, but it has its unique details that gives it its own identity

I don't think that the game will feel like FH overall. The fact that game has that terrible points system from TC2 already means that grinding will be in the game. Tbh this system was the only think why I hated this game so much but on the other hand it was always more interesting than FH, especially the events, updates etc. Seeing that they improved in this direction is nice to see because you can tell that at least it's not gonna be boring like FH

And motorfest have boats planes bikes and that shit its big advantage and even map is better than horizons bro when u go offroad in the game it feels like irl

I agree when it comes to the festival, dialogue and copied features like rewind but this game does things way better than Forza Horizon. For me personally, I was thoroughly impressed by decent wheel feedback, wheel dynamic range (specific rotation of steering according to type of vehicle) and steering animations beyond a quarter of a turn. This all might not seem like much but to me it was huge! The last time we saw these kind of steering animations in an open-world racing game was in Driver SF back in 2011. This game has a lot of potential and the dev's have done a great job in advancing on certain features in just their 3rd instalment, unlike Forza Horizon which hasn't changed things like Drone mode height since FH3, as a small example. Regardless of all this, you make some really good points in regard to the copy paste nature of certain things.

The only difference from Forza are the visuals , map and a destruction derby , this is as souless as it can get . Atleast there's TDU to look forward too , that doesn't look generic in any way . Another reason I'm not gonna buy Motorfest is the bad optimisation , I don't want to wait a bunch of months for a patch .
