I'm 55 and have never once thought about suicide, I spent a month with a broken back when I was in my 40's . Relied on the Lord, a good wife and church to bring me through that. Now with a 26 yr old son not serving Christ, I concentrate and pray for his salvation. Keep the Faith, Fear God and give Him Glory

To be clear, I’m not thinking about suicide. But I think a lot of these life troubles hit a man because maybe he wasn’t completely surrendered to the Lord. If a man is surrendered to the Lord, he has no regrets. I’m sure Lot had some regrets and I’m sure Abraham had some as well. I guess that’s what I’m thinking about is the wisdom that comes at the older age, but with wisdom comes perspective and prospective sometimes is truth telling.

Amen and great words. The rain falls on the righteous and the unrighteous. With our hearts surrendered to The Lord is the place we find grace and peace. I’m a new subscriber and have watched 2 of your videos so far. Really enjoying them. God bless you and keep sharing.

You learn more from mistakes than from doing it right without a struggle. Figuring a problem out works the brain and makes the process stick in your mind.

I began praying for wisdom in my teens or so. God gave it to me. It is worth having and also does bring sorrow, because you see the world more as it is. You see the carnality in what you once thought were good Christians. There is a loneliness to wisdom, but it is worth it, and you can find others who are wise.

I asked for wisdom when I was young as well. But just because one asks for wisdom when he’s young does not mean he will receive all the wisdom he will ever have at a young age. There are certain things that I don’t tell my grandchildren because they are not at an age to understand of which I speak, there are certain things that I don’t even talk to my oldest children about because they won’t be able to hear me but when they are appropriate ages, I will talk to them about those things and they will be able to understand what I’m saying. When you’re young, there are wiser than others, of course, but there are things that just come with age in my we of thinking.

@@BacktotheBasics101 I do not mean I have all wisdom. I mean when I began asking for wisdom, I noticed that I began to have new wisdom, and wisdom was noticed in me that was "beyond my years." I do not believe it ever stops. If we stay close to God and he wills it, we go on and on in wisdom growth.

@@BaptistJoshua I completely understand what you’re saying now. I feel the same way in my life, but there were some things I overlooked and just did not see.

Sorry about your friend. I can see the pain in your eyes. So true about a plateau at 40 and wisdom. Don’t fear but embrace the changes wisdom brings. Be mindful to bring your spouse along and be positive and productive. But I’m just paraphrasing the Bible. Be well.

I have started reading the Bible cover to cover every year. Start with the book of John and then go back to the beginning and read straight through. 3 chapters a day and 5 on Sunday will work. Read them aloud to your family. Pray with your family. There is a lot of wisdom in the Bible that doe not sink in right away, and you don't link it together as well just going to church. I've done a lot of things that I had to ask Jesus for forgiveness for, it doesn't erase it from your mind, but the Bible helps you understand what is really important in like.

I feel like I'm going through this in my early 30's, all I care about is what I have control over and getting better be it physically, financially or intellectually. Everything else is a distraction from my goals
