Luke, it's all about leverage. A long handle is handy . There are exceptions closets and coffins . .God bless up north in Christ..... Keep the witness

I use Fiskars hatchets with the non stick coating removed. They stick in the endgrain and allow you to carry wood like a suitcase, one in each hand. I also made a hookaroon from a fiskars axe. Love.the light weight and weather proof construction.

Was thinking about making one from an old axe head I have thanks for the inspiration
