TOP TIP from a senior ! Go ahead and allow the bar to stretch you at the top, When pulling down try to squeeze your shoulder blades together.
The problem with this is when I reach that final third when the bars close to my chest if I pull more I engage my forearms and shoulders

For lat pull-down, does the bar need to touch my chest or can I leave some space between my chest and the bar?
I have a question is it better to use this type of machine for lat pulldowns? These are the wires ones, but there are other lat pulldown machines that has irreplaceable handles, is it okay to use those as well?

yes, just more focussed on the lats. Pullups are a compound movement that involves a lot of core activation, every muscle in the back (depending on form), biceps, forearms, some chest, and legs (stability). Pullups cause more fatigue per set, but have their own benefits depending on your goals

Not quite, being locked in place on a lat pulldown mostly isolates your lats or lower traps depending on how you do them. Also because of the bar path you can involve less bicep and rear delt in a pulldown. Pull-ups involve more muscles and create more tension on your lats. Both are great exercises for hypertrophy
