THE COPPINS GAP TRACK - INLAND WESTERN AUSTRALIA
If you've been following us for a while now you'd know that we aren't ones for planning. But we do know when we need to switch things up and we are big believers of going with our gut. So after s stint on the coast we were craving an inland adventure and this trip did more than deliver... it blew us away - from start to finish!!
We had NEVER heard of the Coppins Gap and we had never planned to head inland from this location. And it ended up being one of the most incredible tracks we've ever done!
This trip just reminded us of what we truly love doing and that there is a big wide world out there ready for us to explore.

Thanks for the memories - I worked as an exploration geologist in the Pilbara in the early to mid 1970's, just wish we had video cameras back then But I have some really great memories along with some terrible ones, but they all make great stories I can tell.
Falcon has doors which open left and right. holden had a tailgate opening down and a hatch opening up. that looks like an XB Falcon. Great filming guys...
All this country out in the Pilbara is my favourite part of Australia and If a restored XC is worth 44K that one’s got to be worth at least a dollar. 😂 60K followers now hey, word of mouth, yeah my mouth 🙄 I keep telling people and they just look at me like what ever. Your a KZread sensation guys. Don’t you just love how Maxine still loves Karstan even with a Grammy nose, that’s true love isn’t it and this whole bloody video Zuri has been amusing herself quietly with that plat, god she’s an Angel in her little Paisley dress.
Another brilliant adventure. Love how you guys just wing it. thats living. (Ford XB or XC Panel Van - can tell by the tail lights and barn doors). Keep going and show us more so we can dream of our own future adventures.

I also had though an XC from the doors, but the front was kinda munted!!
Awesome tunes! Great couple (and not to forget Zuzu), it's great to see you enjoying what you do. Thanks for the videos
Yep, XC Ford Falcon. You can tell by the door handle spots, fuel filler and rear tail lights. Great vid guys (as always).
When my brother was in his late teens (he is now 71), him and his mates used to drive up to Lake Sumner in North Canterbury (NZ) to go camping and canoeing. One of them had an old Model T Ford. That thing used to go places the Landrovers couldn't even look at. Low gearing and big ground clearance. Your Kombi has the same attributes. Knowing how to drive it helps too.
Thanks for making me feel a little home sick. I lived in Marble Bar as a kid, haven't been back since the early eighties. Must do a trip back soon
Hello from Canada, very good video Thanks for sharing
Karstan - Maxine and Zuri your what adventure is all about legends , you make us 4wheelers in our $10 to $200 thousand dollar lifted- lockers- long range tanks look like woses, keep the good times and adventure going awesome content 🤠
Today April 15 23, The Pilbara has just had a bollocking from Cyclone Isla... Having driven through last year in a VW CARAVELLE, your adventures remind me to go slower next trip and take the long way 'somewhere.'.. Thanks, team

Such a beautiful area!
Wow what an adventure getting to an amazing spot. Inland WA is amazing, you can spend a year or more seeing it, and even then you won't see it all. That panelvan was a Ford XA or XB. The rear barn doors gave it away. Holdens had an upper and lower tail gate, not barn doors. The wind picks up on the coast at this time of year, so spend more time inland. Cheers for sharing another amazing adventure.

Hey guys. Another great episode. Beautiful country through there isn’t it. We live in Port Hedland and lucky enough to be surrounded by it every day. If you ever get the chance to get here after a good wet season I reckon you would be blown away. Coppins gap is a crackin waterhole when it’s full. Glad you enjoyed it. 👌👌. Cheers. Brad & Fi
Great story. I was station mechanic on Mulyie Station in 1978 thanks for the memory. It is just beautiful country but i didn't get to see the places you have been to.
Awesome guys ! Thanks for another inspirational video. It’s really hard work to film constantly and to edit everything together so beautifully every week! Your quality is really consistent. Great soundtrack as well. Cheers 🍺🍺🍺
Thank you, thank you, thank you! The human race has forgotten how to be present....you guys are showing us the way back!
Thanks for your videos - love them. I swam at the Coppin Gap Pool in July last year with my teenage grandkids. It was just stunning and still flowing with crystal clear water, but a little cool that time of the year. I'm so pleased that you showed the road through Kitty's Gap - I always wanted to do that.
Good on you mate set up a crank handle start on a Kombi years ago worked a treat
thankyou for sharing your wonderful travels with us all

Sorry mate it’s a falcon probably more notes to follow
You are so lucky. One of the most beautiful parts of the country out there. I worked at an iron ore mine out there in the 70's. Shay Gap. I saw the name on your map. The town is long gone and the area rehabilitated. By the way, it's Coppins as in Mary Poppins.
Definitely an old Falcon panel van... and what sensational scenery hey, beautiful place!
Good video. Thanks from British Columbia, Canada Gary McAninch
Yes as mentioned that’s an old falcon with barn doors on the back. Keep up the great videos.
Definitely a Falcon, have loved your journey, keep up the great work and enjoy your memories. 😊

Hey guys when you parked the kombi up behind that old bullet ridden old FORD that just looked awesome. The ultimate camouflage. ✌️
We thoroughly enjoy viewing your travelogue. Such fantastic country and the drone footage certainly adds a perspective that is just amazing. The banter is so entertaining. Thank you for sharing. Safe travels.

It’s unbelievable!! We’ve only just touched the surface… such a beautiful area!! And yes we did a quick stop at Barn Hill.
Great vid you guys are fantastic story tellers
Hands down one of your best. A big fan of the unplanned adventures, look at a map and point the car in that direction and fill in the gaps as you go, that destination you guys arrived at, "SENSATIONAL" The car you found with that beautiful patina ( your words ) was a 70s falcon panel van. Keep up the adventure and stay safe.
Its an Ford XB panelvan with barn doors. Possibly a GS by the look of the stripes. Husband is right into fords and can pick them from a mile away (literally).
Awesome vid guys. Well done!
Awesome content 👏 Wow 👌 the greenery was amazing Greetings from south africa 🇿🇦 👏 😀
What an awesome drive
Great stuff guys. Been following and waiting till you travelled through that area. I worked out there 300kms west of Marble Bar over 20 years ago. I was lucky enough to drive in and out numerous times . Hidden jems out there. Keep up the great videos. Reliving my travels around Australia back then.👌

Great video guys top stuff!
At the end the moon shining behind you lot looked like it must be a perfect place
I think this was your best show yet
Brilliant guys ❤
Thanks for another wander through the outback. Plenty out there, all you have to do is go have a look.
Choc top mountains! Yes please...... Ill have one of those!
Cool old XB falcon panel van
Great vid and very nice framing the full-moon in the closing shots, so this upload is dated from about 2 weeks ago?
love your Kombi guys, saw it in Newcastle at the February camp show parked out on the street, blew me away 11:13 is a ford panel van around XB era
Great show. That rusted out Panel van is either an XA OR XB Falcon Panel van.
Coppin gap is amazing, better when full even better when the sun sets and that area just lights up. So much more to explore too. Upper Currawine Gorge and much much more. Glen Herring Gorge? Think I spelt it right, another top camp spot and your Combi will get there too. Enjoy, great time of year up there. If possible Running waters skull rock road, another gem 💎 then into Nullagine for a coldie.
loved it
you do some cool tracks, we liked them so much, we are doing wagga to darwin next sunday, in our old pajero, hope you do plenty more.
Abraços do Brasil
Falcon Panel Van👍 XA-XC Fantastic adventure 🏆🏆
Another awesome chapter. Don't know how far south you are now, can recommend Karara Bushland Park, East of Morawa, for wildflowers.
Mate it’s a Ford Falcon panel van 👍
Its a ford panel van maybe a xc 1978 or possibly xb 74/75 model
Week of firsts for us. We subscribed to your channel, found out you guys were contestants on The Block and introduced us to Rodello’s Machine. You guys produce unique, quality content regularly, keep up the great work. Cheers
Did 70km of cattle fencing out on this station it’s called De Grey station full bush camp styles, we worked with people from the community too and was a wicked experience cool country out there but can be very unforgiving
Hi loving your videos, you guys crack us up every week 😉 just wondering what editing program you guys use and where you get your music from, it's absolutely awesome 👌
PANEL VAN is a FORD XB or XC I think. Holdens dont have Doors at the Back
Yep; ya got me interested again --- welcome back Aussie outback
There's a bit of aviation history around Coppins Gap. It was some time ago but it's worth the research.
Well done for taking the road less travelled!
G'day Karstan, Maxine and lil Zu, loving all the episodes and the sick as Kombi, just have a couple ideas for small episodes in between the trips you do, could you do a bit of a rig run down on how you have set the Kombi up for this travel, your must haves for the trip etc also wondering if you could do a small ep on gates and sign rules for beginners wanting to get into this sorta travel, looking forward to the next episodes, hope all is well 🤙🏽🤙🏽about to hit the road soon for our 7th lap the outback way, well on as much dirt roads as possible 😀

"There's far more to WA than what you see on instagram" If your headed south and need a rest area you MUST see the Albert Tognolini rest area, the landscape is incredible, there are no words to describe it. 100% we are the luckiest humans in the world to call WA home 🙌🙌 west is best 👌 💕

You guys are so inspirational…. This sort of tripping I would love to do !
I've met the Warrawagine cattle station lease owners n enjoyed there company when the family came to muster Mulga Downs near Wittinoom. I worked on Mulga n at auski roadhouse for 5yrs. Wittinoom was our closest swimming hole on a stinking hot fcken day n is the most beautiful spot in WA that I saw. Asbestos was mined there n the town is now abandoned due to the risks involved many people have died after living there .
What a day of travelling and shooting. Every track with it's own surprises !! Magical episode.
Don’t even know what to say. Wow. ❤
Should definitely give millstream point a look while your round them ways

That green grass is there all year round aswel same in marble bar. We was stuck at that river in 2007 on our way to marble bar it was flooded bank to bank.
