LEAVE US A TIP!

I go over a fishing kayak that has been out for years but nobody is talking about. The 2024 Coosa FD from Jackson Kayak. I go over all the features on the Coosa FD as well as discuss its limitations. I also will go over if it's still as good of a value in 2024 within Jackson Kayaks lineup and in the overall fishing kayak industry.

    Coosa FD is one of those kayaks you have to jump in and pedal to appreciate. What do you all think?

    If it's anything like the Knarr it's a great kayak, that flex drive is top notch

    I love my 2018 Coosa FD. I have upgraded to the new drive, new rudder, and the new seat. I'll be hanging on to this thing until it won't float anymore.

    Biggest issue for me is steering on the Jackson FDs. The need for constant steering adjustments keeps me from buying one. They need to improve the steering controls and components. The upgrades they came out with help but did not eliminate the issue.

    I agree. Jackson's issues are all fixable. They need to be fixed though

    I think I would buy a Native Titan X 12.5 for the same money. More options to rig than the Jackson.

    It's a nice boat but the price and weight that's concerning. I still rooftop my budget kayak at 57lbs and I'm about to purchase a Native Slayer propel 10 at 62lbs. I didn't realize the shop was Arkansas. I did a week long road trip around Arkansas from Ohio. ( about 3hr drive south of Daren Wendell). I went right past the shop couple years ago. I stopped by Lake Leatherwood to check it out. I wish I had a kayak with me that day. Arkansas is a beautiful state. It's the West Virginia west of the Mississippi 😆

    The price is worth it, the flex drive is very fast really makes using the kayak in shallow waters easy, I have the Knarr and it cruises. As for car topping I think rhino rack makes a product called the nautic which is a loader system that would make loading the choosa very easy

    @thebeardedpaddler Aww, I will after I get some spring water and some catfish from BUBBA's Catfish-2-Go food trailer in Hot Springs! We might have good walleye and perch up here in Northern Ohio ,but you all have the killer catfish! Damm

    Is the coosa fd as or more stable than a Hobie outback?

  • @thebeardedpaddler

    @thebeardedpaddler

    2 күн бұрын

    Close. They are different hull designs. The Outback has more of a flat hull design. I would give the edge to the Outback by a little bit. Also the fin drive is going to be faster and more efficient
