She was not an actress her first husband was a pilot and the second a businessman she was a housewife and then a hostess for her second husbands business associates

she did try to get Edward to call of the engagement and wedding but Edward twisted her arm with I cant go on without you blah. She wasn't a loving person but she did try to get out of it :P She got a little close to the fire and love the connections and attention from Edward. But she ended by being burnt and forced to live the consequences of playing with love :P If anything Meghan is worse then Wallis :P she married harry for the title, fame and jewels, then played the race card when she couldn't get everything she wanted from the royals lol :P It should also be mention Wallis went to a party when Edward was on this death bed and died. She was no where near Edward when he died unlike what the show the crown depicts :P

Remember that Any item is worth Only what someone else is prepared to Pay for it..! No doubt that part of the value of "Wallis's" jewellery collection, was because of the notoriety of the woman. It is considered by many noted commentators that the relationship between Edward Vll and Wallis Simpson was at best a "lop-sided" one. He absolutely doted on her, whilst she treated him with perhaps at best, an amused tolerance, hence his lavish gifts to her, whilst little is actually known of her gifts to him... It is on record that certainly in the post war era,sho0uold one wish to invite the Duke and Duchess to a celebratory event, a lengthy list of criteria to be met b the hosts was returned with the invitation, before acceptance. It was also suggested that some small trinket, preferably from Cartier, Van Cleef and Arpels, etc., should be included as a "mark of respect to, as her husband only, insisted she be referred to solely as, "Her Royal Highness Wallis Duchess of Windsor"

The jewelry was unique. That's what set it aside from so many others who had jewels. Elizabeth Taylor also wore those so well. There are no stars today that wear their own jewels. Sadly, that era has passed.

King Edward VIII had great taste in jewellery, he bought it not her.

After abdication one cannot retain moniker of King. All subsequent titles were bestowed upon Edward by his brother who became King.

It was always how unique her pieces were and how she wore them so well. Still the best for me outside of the Brits.

Without doubt the finest collection of the 20th century. Look who designed the pieces after all!

Actually she had more everyday jewelrty in the catalogue. A few pieces were sold when she was in her twilight years. A huge yellow heart shape diamond was sold to her friend and appeared in auction a few years ago. A few pieces went to the Countess of Ramones and a couple ogf pieces to Princess Micgael of Kent.

They never trashed the Royal family like MM and Hawwy

You're quite right! The Queen mother was mostly for frills and fussy over-dressing, as were most women in that period. Wallis was modern before the times, going for clean cut, very elegant clothes which really drew attention to her jewellery. And yes, she wanted the best of two lives...one, staying married to her husband who she was very fond off, and two, the excitement of having a king as a lover who lavished her with incredible jewellery and attention. But the king was completely besotted with her and even threatened suicide if she didn't marry him. This is probably one of the most interesting love stories of all time (the love being almost completely on the king's side).

Other than the terrible pink fake nails this was a great video although I've seen them elsewhere. Stunning.

The Duke could afford to give her all this because he keep the revenue of the estate usually is own by the Kind, King George VI was really upset when he was told by the Court what the Duke had done. When the Duke died it finally return to Queen Elisabeth II, but by then the finance of the Court was in a far better state.

He adored her, he wanted her to be Queen. He treated her like a Queen, bought her magnificent pieces. Sadly, there was no substance to either of them.

Wallis was NEVER an actress. She was born to an impoverished branch of a prominent southern family. Bessiewallis Warfield. Her birth date is uncertain. Her Uncle Sol financed her education. She married Win Spencer when she was perhaps 17 or 20, depending on her accepted birth date. and they separated while he was serving in the US Navy in China. She remained behind as a "hostess" in a brothel. Read King of Fools.

If I owned them I would spend hours just gazing at them!
