The conclusion of the CrKt Chogan tomahawk customization project Part 2

In this video I get into the customization process for the tomahawk. Stripping off the company black coating then cold bluing it and adding file accents to it. Off to @tomveff for sharpening. Decorating the hickory handle, stippling, file work and coating using burnt linseed wood oil. Handmade stampped leather masks and literally wrappin it up with leather lace to act as an overstrike collar. Thank you for watching and remember, take a chance and make something unique to you. Have a Knife Day.

My grandfather always said “ any man that brags about his military service is not a man “. I hope you are displaying a loved one’s patch.

Well Tony, your grandfather, “bless his soul” must’ve never been to any of the American Legion or VFW posts. Because there are many plenty that do and plenty that don’t. The Legion Riders, Marine Corps Riders, the 82nd Airborne Association “which I am a part of and have done funerals with while wearing my uniform” are just some that wear their patches on the regular. Of course there was also a time when our country abused their veterans for their military service and some veterans that because of PTSD don’t talk about their time on the military. To each veteran their own. I volunteer in the community through and with my veteran organizations and to be quite honest with you, the government and the civilian population can be quite apathetic to what are happening to both active duty and veteran communities. Love to send us around the world to fight in what they started, step over us and defund us when we get back home. All so they can enjoy their barbecues and holidays as they step over the homeless veterans as they do so. My father “Vietnam era” never kept his patches. Seeing how the civilian population was at the time were with their opinions and how some of the older veterans from other wars treated them. So, there you go. I took off a year and volunteered at my VA to see what was happening there and how the other veterans were being treated. Took veterans in wheelchairs to their appointments, told jokes to alleviate the stress of what they were going through and had an easy camaraderie and banter as only can happen with others that actually served them the county. If your grandfather was at my VA I would’ve also taken him to his appointment and we probably would’ve had a good time talking. So, this is how I state in contact with my community, every veteran being different, talking to them, developing camaraderie and seeing in they need assistance getting in contact with services is what I do. Thank him for his service if he is still vertical and please do Have A Knife Day 👍🏼

@@haveaknifeday How times have changed though. All it takes is one look at a Congressional Hearing regarding the Weaponization of the Deep State FBI/DOJ and their Censorship, spying and persecution of Conservative Americans -for most people with any common sense to know the Unites States is no longer worth serving LOL. Not sure if that was the case back when you served but, it's definitely a fact today! The Government is not your friend.

Totally out of curiosity. Why the bluing instead of forced patina?

Boil a container of full of household vinegar, take it off the heat, then put the tomahawk head in the vinegar for an hour. BAM! Forced patina. Really great protective layer for the steel.
