Palmers FC was peak youtube football. A true representation of a Sunday league team made by a group of mates. No aspiration to be greats, they were better because it wasn't a team made for KZread, just a team that decided to post to KZread. The problem was as more teams came everyone took themselves to seriously and didn't want to harm their reputations. SE Don's spoke about it when they had friendlies with Palmers, other KZread teams were scared of arranging games with top KZread sides due to gear of losing and it harming their brands and viewership, Palmers didn't care. They just showed up and played football, shook hands, drunk pints and went home ready for work the next day.

Rebel were just kind of, nothing to me. Without the competetive edge its hard to get into. With Blud Bruvvas episode 3 was the only one I was interested in. Hashtag and Palmers were the only 2 in my eyes that got the formula exactly right. Love the video essays, they're class viz

UTR literally going under the radar, arguably the second best youtube football team ever. But hashtag are just on another level 🐐

I’d still say Rising Ballers in terms of success is ahead due to their media presence, but Manny has been very consistent for many years fair play to him

UTR kinda have a different feel because the majority of the original founding members came from Manny’s previous team that the name of evades me rn. It felt like a reformation of a different sunday league team with new players coming in over time, rather than a complete original creation like the others

I hate to say that I’m new to the channel but it’s now one of a maximum of 3 channels that I’ll watch every video. I love these documentary style videos and it’s honestly faultless. It’s amazing how many class videos you can make in such a regular and quick way

Hashtag United just made it impossible for anyone else to do it anywhere near as good tbh. They’ve set the bar too high. Also I think some KZreadrs underestimated the amount of commitment that goes into it and thought they could just do it on a whim whereas Spencer had planned it and had the idea for years before executing it.

Watching Palmers FC was great. I’m from Texas, USA, and we don’t have Sunday league culture. It was incredible to watch them grow and get to learn about what grassroots football really is.

Used to watch Palmers now watch fiveguys! Absolute bunch of lads. Well worth a watch!

In Germany some of the biggest football related KZreadrs/Streamers have also started their own football club together. It's called Delay Sports Berlin and they are currently in their first season and are top of the league in the lowest german divison. They are by far the biggest Berlin based football team on social media, doubling the follower count of Hertha or Union and having houndreds of thousands of views on each of their videos. They are rather ambitious and aim to be a professional club as soon as possible (3rd division or higher in Germany).

@@bkak2245 It's called Kreisliga C and it should be the 11th tier if I'm not mistaken (at least thats how it is in Berlin, every state has a slightly different league system).

Fantastic video, being a fan, player and creator of Sunday League content I absolutely loved the video, thought the points you made were spot on as well, AFTV are actually still going they play in the Barnet League but I believe they don't make content anymore, Edmonton Rovers have been going on You Tube for years, but there's is more of a broadcast style.

Palmers were my favourites for the reasons youve outlined. I didn’t care how good/ bad the on pitch quality was I just connected with these lads and wanted them to win each week. I’ve never felt that same connection with any other KZread team. If anything the higher the professionalism the more the point is missed. It should be relatable, for the every man, just like Palmers was. I actually preferred the Hashtag United Sunday league videos for the same reasons. They played on park pitches in games that finished 6-5 with a dodgy ref. Very relatable to me and I loved it.

I do really like the new direction of the channel and think the content is good, I'm just curious do you reach out to the people that you talk about? not as a heads up but as a way of finding information like asking Calfreezy or Reev what happened to Rebel, why it stopped etc rather than stating what happened and speculate why it ended this way, don't get me wrong it is really interesting to see what happened but I think that one step further would elevate this content no end, keep up the great work though

Was a big Palmers fan and used to watch every video so will always be the OG of the scene. For me never been able to get into Hashtag. I cant stand Spencer and Seb and think they come across as arrogant. Love SE Dons now. Whilst arrogant its with a wink and a smile. Love the grassroots of it

Andrew/Donny really has his heart in the right place, which keeps the Dons channel grounded at the end of the day. Palmers the original and best, for me. I don't really watch any of the others anymore since Palmers stopped, come to think of it. I was over the moon for the friendlies this summer!

I got really into DT fc during Bludd Bruvaas season 2. At the time I thought DT did a really great job as manager and it really felt they were a good team. It really felt like DT had redeemed himself from that awful AFTV vs United Stand match. Would have liked to see more but obviously DT ruined all of that.

Palmers walked so other times could run. I miss Palmers

I love how Spencer brought “divisions” from fifa, to real life. Even when they were playing friendly vs comedians 11, Coca Cola, or that one flying horse team (for some reason spencer fc always struggled against them) . It always had a competitive feel like they were playing for something. They took a massive risk joining the football pyramid, but in long term, was perfect decision and they now are very close to another promotion!

I did not expect the Black Ops multiplayer music to start playing lmao

Also I'd mention Kings League, not exactly the same but pretty similar, it's here in Spain and has been pretty succesful

Open Goal Broomhill is one in Scotland But they didn’t start the club they merged with a club that already existed Broomhill
