Great video I have a question, when you're adding a second camera, the camera must have the app, but can the camera be anywhere? Like another city or does the second camera have to be on the same network?

Wireless iOS cameras need to be on the same WiFi network as your main device. However, if you want to bring in a guest from a remote location, you can use Video Chat to bring in audio and video from another camera from anywhere int he world with an Internet access. This is sick!!!

Really impressed by the tool. I am looking for a system that enables this type of source switching and graphics overlay where users can bring in video sources located outside my location. For example, if I am in Chicago, I want to create a video event with a contact in New York. Are users limited to using video sources connected through the same wifi network?

Can you screen share from a computer, iPad, or iPhone? Like If you wanted to look up and show articles from a browser during the stream? If so, does switcher keep running if you switch apps to screen share from your production iPad?

Q. when you go live does it record the live feed or the recording is done separately. because i use another app and if the internet speed drops it goes straight into my recording. i dont want that. also if i connect a camera to the ipad can the camera record while using the swither. most apps does not allow that feature. is either record from the camera or the switcher

Good news! When you are recording and livestreaming, the recording is actually separate from the livestream. Internet dropping during a livestream would not necessarily show up in the recording (since you're streaming to another platform, like Facebook or KZread), but your Switcher App may be more stable. The only thing that may affect the recording would be if the cameras you are using, are on the same wifi and something happens with that connection, it may be visible in the recording (and the livestream).

I have a question hope you noticed🥺. If I buy the subscription one when I go live in facebook is the logo still there in my livestream????

Thanks for this information. How do I use the mics from my cameras rather than my iPad? I'm using my iPad as the switcher, and I have 3 iPhones that I want to use as my mic audio source, but can't find any information, thanks!

Hi Kevin! You can use additional audio sources for your livestream (other than just the primary iOS device you are using at the Switcher), but may need additional equipment, like a mixer. How did you make this video lower thirds? By switcher or pc software?

Lower Thirds for this video were made in After Effects. This video took a long time to edit together all of the pieces... Maybe if we had just used Switcher Studio, we could have saved ourselves a lot of time.

Hello, i am looking into getting this for my church but i have a question. Can you zoom in on another camera angle before you switch over to it? Like say the pastor is moving and i want to go to the next angle that catches him/her but want to zoom in on that angle before i switch to it so it’s not a wide angle shot… is that possible or do i have to go to that angle and then zoom in?

For an outdoor setup, I would recommend using an LTE WiFi hotspot like the Netgear Nighthawk M1. many users in our user group have had great success with this unit. facebook.com/groups/switcherstudio

can you use camcorders? That are on the same wifi? You cant install a switcher app on a camcorder... will it still work?

Switcher Studio works with iOS devices running the application. We do not have a simple or reliable way to bring in a DSLR at this time. Smartphones are super portable, and we like having a solution that allows to you stay mobile.

Really like this app for broadcasting sports. Can you please put in a timer? That would be great! Thanks.

Hi Lou! Great request - while we have a-built in countdown timer for the stream, and a scoreboard, we have not yet added a Sports Clock in-app for a number of reasons. This includes the bandwidth of the person using Switcher (managing score, switching camera feeds, and adding/updating graphic overlays, etc - it's a lot for one person to handle!). We have a couple of work arounds we recommend, including: 1) Pointing one of your camera feeds at a physical sports clock on site 2) using Switcher Cast to screen share from a device that is running the software you use to keep track of the time Both of these would allow you to show the time clock at your convenience, but not worry about starting/stopping the clock during time outs, etc. and make sure it's as accurate on the livestream as in-person at the game.

@@SwitcherStudio Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've been using a count up timer app with a resized display. I completely agree with your take on task saturation. I hadn't thought about it really due to soccer's just start the clock, no stopping-start-stop requirement. If you could do it, it'd look much cleaner, uniform, and would make ever soccer/futbol stream that much better!

How do I film vertically? You can flip the iPad over so the camera is where the comments by choosing invert device in settings. But how to film vertically?

Currently, we do not have an option for other aspect ratios besides 16x9.However, We are looking into the best ways to offer vertical video as an option for users who would like to create content this way. Stay tuned!

You can use our Custom RTMP option and a service like Castr.io or restream.io to simulcast to both destinations at once.

I have a live streaming event coming up in a few days. Couple of questions. Does the iTouch connect to the iPad via airplay? And can I connect my iPhone to my existing iPad Air 2 with switcher studio to enable live streaming? My set up would look like this. 1. iPad Air 2 with Switcher Studio (ios 11) 2. 2 - itouch devices connected via airplay. Thank you for your time.

Perhaps one day when we have the resources to account for all of the different possible setups with Android, we'll be able to develop that solution. Yes! You can utilize Facebook Crossposting in Switcher Studio without using up more of your multistreaming destinations. You can set up Crossposting on up to 200 Facebook Pages/Groups. Before using Crossposting in Switcher Studio, you will need to set it up on Facebook. It seems like those are both TRRS microphones. This connection should work with any iOS device that has a TRRS combo jack, or by using the combo jack adapter.

Sometimes, for a number of reasons, devices won't show up in the list. If a device doesn't show up in the list, you can manually add it by using the device's unique rlcc:// address. how do you renew a subscription?

Once you choose a subscription at dashboard.switcherstudio.com/subscribe, your subscription will automatically renew at the end of the subscription period. If you choose an Annual Plan, your subscription will automatically renew one year from the date your plan started. Each Plan is billed upfront at the beginning of the subscription period.

Yes! Instead of selecting to stream to Facebook or KZread in the outputs panel, you can select "None" and it will record to your device when you hit the record button.

Hi There! This is an older video, so I believe this is a 6th Generation iPad (we are actually currently in the process of updating this). Our app is compatible with the most recent Apple update (iOS 15), and iPads - in fact, we recommend it for optimal experience, though you can still use a 6th Gen iPad.

In the Outputs tab in the "Wi-Fi Communication" menu, choose "Optimize for > Low Latency". The delay will be 200ms. The other options are 400ms and 600ms respectively. If you are talking about the delay from Switcher to your CDN... the live stream will always have a certain amount of delay when viewing on a your streaming platform. Usually between 10 and 30 seconds. I hope one of these two explanations helps you out. visit support.switcherstudio.com if you need to look for more potential answers.

Hi Calvin, yes! You can use one iOS device to run the Switcher and be the one camera/audio feed, but you can also add up to 9 devices if you prefer in the future. There are a lot of options!
