The Complete METAL GEAR SOLID Timeline Explained!

Ойындар

The Metal Gear Solid franchise features one of the most extensive and elaborate timelines in all of gaming. Konami’s epic espionage series unfurls its dense narrative across 11 games with an alternate history timeline that spans from the height of the cold war in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater all the way through to a neo-futuristic take on the 21st century in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
With a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 on the way as well as remasters of the original Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, what better time to dive back into Hideo Kojima’s iconic franchise.
This is the Metal Gear Solid timeline fully explained.
00:00 - Intro
01:00 - METAL GEAR SOLID 3: SNAKE EATER - 1964
07:31 - METAL GEAR SOLID: PORTABLE OPS - 1970
10:41 - LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES - 1971
12:11 - METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER - 1974
15:49 - SKULL FACE
16:46 - METAL GEAR SOLID 5: GROUND ZEROES - 1975
18:39 - METAL GEAR SOLID 5: THE PHANTOM PAIN - 1984
23:25 - METAL GEAR - 1995
25:30 - METAL GEAR 2: SOLID SNAKE - 1999
27:39 - METAL GEAR SOLID - 2005
32:12 - METAL GEAR SOLID 2: SONS OF LIBERTY - 2007-2009
36:42 - METAL GEAR SOLID 4: GUNS OF THE PATRIOT - 2014
41:39 - METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE - 2018
From the origins of Big Boss and FOXHOUND through to Solid Snake’s pivotal role in the franchise via the shock twists of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, this video breaks down the long and confusing timeline of the Metal Gear Solid franchise.

2 things I think needed mentioned, 1. Not terribly important, but Eva carried liquid and solid to term. 2. Very important liquid was never in Ocelot, Ocelot had his nanomachines imitate liquid the whole time. Other than that, this is a very well done video.

I've played the games in this story that have been more mainstream let's say. Solid, 2, 3 etc. Even with this fantastic explanation it's SO hard to follow, I need someone to make a map. Also, I LOVE the art style on all the cut aways, if someone can tell me the artist I'd really appreciate it. Can't wait to see The Boss in the new Snake Eater remake as she was one of my favourite characters. Great work on this video, I can't imagine the effort you put in

It's not, buts it's referenced. But I'm not gonna go around saying that zone of enders is metal gear canon either. I'm sure some dude with an mgsv profile pic is gonna come in here and defend it with his whole heart😂

Funny how the overarching MGS narrative is a proxy war between two former best friends but you would never get that by playing MGS1 or even 2.

Actually quite a bit happened before the Cold War. During World War 2 when the patriots were formed

Cool games, but the stories & characters were needlessly confusing. Everyone’s a freakin double agent
