Well for starters, Big Boss wasn't the one put in stasis. That was solidus, Big Boss's exact clone. 2nd, Ocelot was never truly controlled by Liquid's arm, it was all self imposed brainwashing. Decent attempt though, but don't do story recaps if you don't actually know the story. Better luck next time.

i think anyone trying legitimately learn the history of the Metal Gear series will not find this video very helpful but it was extremely entertaining for us who are long time fans

Lmao if I hadn't played these games minus peace walker and the very first 2 metal gears, I wouldn't have been able to follow. Yes it was entertaining and kind of informative the description of the history could've been done better but it was rushed.

Nah the metal gear solid games have gameplay that haven't aged and still hold up pretty well. The og metal gear games are a bit too simple tho.

you will understand the timeline if you play the games. just dont start with 2 and 4. if you want to describe it its hard

I will add something here and very much important. On MSG4 Eva told us how Zero started it all of this and how evil he was, Big Boss ask the question "Did Zero hated me or he feared me?". The asnwers on MGS5: Phantom Pain show it was neither. Zero saw Big Boss as a friend and cared for him, he was the one who saved him and stated the idea of a copy double. There wasnt any rivalry, only a disagreement with no comunication between the parties. It did not help that Paz, on Peace Walker, went further ahead, against, her original orders, further cementing on Big Boss de assumption that Zero became his enemy. The sad reality is that Zero was decomitioned long, long before the construction of the Patriots IA, so that wasnt his fault either. Zero would have never wanted the state the world was in the 2000's. Big Boss died withouth knowing the tragic truth of his friend.

Skull Face being in the backseat of glory was hardly the main reason why he took a villain role. Skull Face resents Zero because his idelogy is the one that, according to Skull Face, is responsible for him losing his face/family/everything. Skull Face is the villain because he STILL deals with the phantom pain of his past, like almost everyone in MGSV. Misinterpreting the Boss' will, Skull Face enacts his plan to create his twisted version of the Boss' will.

Completely omitted several major plot points: Portable Ops, The Boss’s AI sacrifice at the end of Peace Walker which vindicates her, Venom Snake being forced to murder his own soldiers when they become infected with the anti-English virus, Ocelot being The Boss’s son, and EVA who, in addition to being Solid’s and Liquid’s mother, was the exact reason that Big Boss becomes disillusioned with Fox and the CIA and Zero, since she told EVA the truth to tell Big Boss.

As an old fart, my first foray into Metal Gear was the first on the original Nintendo System. I've been a fan ever since. Hideo Kojima should forever be remembered for his gaming and cultural influence on the world. Salute!

While metal gear's narrative is confusing at times it still tells a undstandable story of people affected by war, in my opinion i think kingdom heart's story is far more harder to understand(I love that series btw).

kingdom hearts's story is f'ed up, tetsuya nomura is a brilliant game maker, but not at making story. it's complicated, but not interesting at all, unlike mgs

Metal gear's story is actually a lot more linear in nature while kingdom hearts has a lot of side games that are just as important as the mainline titles that just keeps adding more elements to the lore, its a series that it makes more sense when you play it and it comes together in your head then a person explaining it to you.

​@@glydoughnut9432Exactly. To this day I still wonder who's a hero and who's a villain in the MG world, I came up with my own ideas. Solid Snake is just a pawn in USA's hands. Same for Raiden. Solidus Snake is actually a hero who tried to stop the patriots when he saw that even the US president (himself) couldn't do anything. Big Boss is a ruthless anti-hero. Venom Snake is just a pawn and decoy in the hands of Big Boss and Ocelot. Ocelot is a contorted psycho guy who's really only loyal to Big Boss and literally brainwashed himself multiple times just to follow Big Boss'will. Liquid Snake is a victim of his own biological origins and really is just a depressed psycho rebel who wants to give a meaning to his life and creation. Now I want MGS6, under Kojima's direction, with Solidus as a protagonist

jus finished MGS4 again.. and decided to replay MGS to find out what the hell is going on. started MGS3 and finished it few days after. with the names.. it is confusing, only now i can finally understand them

No. Meryl is Roy’s daughter. This is revealed either during MGS1 if you gave up during the Ocelot torture or in MGS4 when Meryl brings it up

😂 Metal gear is not complicated. the story is super linear. just how the games were released is complicated. If you play the games how they were released it is not complicated and if you play them in the chronological order it is also not complicated.

Its funny how they treat sarcastically the timeline as "totally not complicated" but by doing such a sh*tty summary, they or he made it sound complicated AF. Either make a shorter video with more enfasis on key details but focused or a longer video explaining everything in detail but well documented and better narrates, not some middle ground that its just garbage, like explaining just the beginning and the ending of MGS3.

So I don't want to explain the full series but I don't know what I'm getting into give me likes

Are we just going to pretend that the Metal Gear Solid series' storytelling is good, when it boils down to terrible exposition dumps and with some very cringey, anime-like and overall questionable charracters, nonsensical convoluted plots and so on? Yes, what is good about the series (the gameplay), is really good and inovative, but Kojima's fanboys tend to oversell these games to the moon, like they're some divine gaming revelation. Well, sorry but they're nothing close to that, just a series of good games, and that's it. Only anime emo fanboys think they're masterpieces in storytelling, but these people don't understand good storytelling to begin with, if they think countless exposition dumps is the way to tell a good story.

I highly doubt you can put all the metal gear lore in such a short video 😅
