The Complete History of Adolf Hitler (1939-40)

Ойын-сауық

On the 1st of September 1939 the biggest war in human history broke out as German troops marched into Poland. More than anyone else's this was Adolf Hitler's war. Then, now and forever will the conflict be associated with him, not Winston Churchill, Stalin or anyone else. But what was Hitler actually up to during those 6 years? I'll be finishing off my series on the life of Adolf Hitler in long form fashion. I'll cover every single year from 1939 till the end in the bunker in 1945, one after the other. This time, in 1939-40, we follow Hitler from Poland to France and then down to Italy and the Spanish border as he rushes between crisis to crisis. Why did Hitler want peace with Britain so badly? Why did Hitler choose to attack the Soviets? Why did Spain refuse to join the Axis? Why did Italy attack Greece and how did Hitler feel about it? I'll be answering all of those questions and far, far more in this video.

    Yes! I had heard that it was Himmler’s job to try to convince wealthy Jews to pay for poorer ones to emigrate to the Holy Land. I have seen commemorative coins with Swastikas in a Holocaust museum - along with pictures of smiling Nazi top brass in what is now Israel. I also heard Himmler was frustrated by their lack of co operation. When asked, “Well - what should we do with them then?”….. The answer was, shall we say, both excessively callous and alarmingly predictive. I do not know the veracity of the above conversation, but the coins and photos are easily checked…. Or, at least, they were last I looked.

    No one who respects Patton treats him like a god. You calling him a "3rd rate general who was good at propaganda" proves you know nothing about the man. He was crap at dealing with the media, he had no political savvy at all. His entire reputation came from his attitude on the field. Read the Patton Papers, and then read what his enemies thought of him. Stop believing wikipedia. I respect Patton literally just because he is the only General who came around after the end of the war, and he paid for it with his life. The man has a checkered past, just look at how he treated the protesting vets after WW1. None of this changes his final actions and opinions. His final actions do not change his sins. He was no god, but he also wasn't a skilled propagandist and 3rd rate general, hahahaha He was the only real general who ever got any publicity, the rest were all jokes. @@zacheltringham8524

    Old Boomer here, you are doing well young man. I was born in1953,The Second World War Overshadowed everything till the late 1970s and every adult over forty from your teacher to the local copper or postman and loco driver had been involved. My own late father was on East Coast Convoys,the first lieutennant(Jimmy the One) on his destroyer for a while was the late Philip Mountbatten (yes him) dad used to tell us he was somtimes as scared as the rest of them average age (22-36). Apparently a fine Naval Officer who is reputed to have saved H M S Wallace and the bulk of her crew off Sicily in 1943 For more information on this inccedent and Wallace I can reccomend 'It was,nt all Mayem,by the late Harry Hargreaves,Harry was The Yeoman of Signals on Wallace. Its a good read and good insight to life onboard a fleet convoy escort in World War11 of The R N. Can you believe most did not know about Ultra and Enigma till a BBC Production on TV in 1972 despite all. My late father can be included in this even though he was trained in radar(Wallace though built as a flotilla leader in 1920 was fitted with the latest sets) at what is now The Sherbrook House Hotel in Pollokshields, Glasgow. Most do not realise the part Glasgow and The Clyde played in World War 11. The Germans did,they sent a U Boat up the river on to what too all intents and purposes was a suicide mission to penetrate the boom(No Chance). She was sunk by H M S Gleaner a Minesweeper with a four inch. Some of the U boats crew a were buried on Clydeside their vessel is in the Clyde off Dunoon before where the boom was.

    @nicksothep8472

    @@hippyjoe @hippyjoe yeah, I don't remember where I read it, and Joe Rogan talked about it sometime ago as well, the situation you describe refers to Mustache visiting the Dux to convince him to remain in the war, as he was seriously considering abandoning the effort. So, the story goes that Mustache was feeling horrible and tired, and asked his doctor to give him something to "wake him up", which resulted in an eroic dose of blow and meth, someone even hypnotizing a sort of speedball, which gave him such a rush that, as you said, he cornered El Dux for hours, apparently 5!, resulting in him agreeing about remaining in the war, possibly the worst decision in recent history. Apparently Mustache was so happy about the results, that he attributed his win to his doctor, as he was perfectly conscious it was his high that won the battle for him. It is a little known fact in the mainstream that Mustache was high as a kite most of the times, certainly when in public, fueled by his personal doctor a mixture of "uppers" such as meth, blow, and every obscure variant you can synthetize in between. In some videos of the era you can definitely see the Phurer shaking from the high, moving like a rabid dog on his chair to suppress the need for running or whatever activity that level of caffeine substitutes makes you crave. It's not an overstatement to say that WWII was the result of amphetamine paranoia, if we can in fact agree that the initial motivations were somewhst agreeable depending on one's viewpoint, the way it escalated into absolute madness and genocide were absolutely not under any circumstance. Regardless what your stance is, there is a right and a wrong way to go about doing things, torture work camps where unfed, dehydrated, unclean, and generally unhealthy prisoners treated like rats are forced to work and killed at the first sign of exhaustion, or medical experiments on prisoners which were literally torture chambers to understand what is the limit of pain for the human body, or used to test drugs, which might seem like nothing in today's world, but could be worse than lethal at the time, as some side effects could last days if not weeks, during which you'd suffer without any chance of being helped as your suffering was basically the test itself, and many similar "activities", were definitely NOT the right way to go about anything. So anyway, I don't think I need to further discuss these aspects of the Reich, as they're very well publicized by "history", but I can't stress enough the fact that the routine amphetamine intake by the Nasis, paired with their strict, order based "philosophy", was a brutal, unapologetic and ruthless couple. The thing is, at the time, the side effects of amphetamines and uppers in general, weren't well understood, if at all, they were simply considered a stronger alternative to coffee, the paranoia, fixation, and generally OCD a-like behavior were ignored or considered irrelevant when the primary purpose was well over achieved, and as a person that lived among drugs his whole life, I can say without the shadow of a doubt that if I were to clean up and arm the group of crack users I used to know when I lived in London, and send them to the front while feeding their addiction with meth, I have no doubt whatsoever they'd be absolute maniacs, which would keep on fighting even if bullet ridden, stopping only when drained of blood or shred to pieces. I've always hated "uppers" for this exact reason, you could never convince me of smoking that shit to become a bloody maniac, standing at the window with an axe, and looking for crack crumbs on the table, ashtray, floor, carpet etc.. to get that last hit, which 100% of the time is gonna consist of anything they picked up BUT crack!😅 Which sounds pretty funny in tale format, but it's an absolute nightmare to witness, and I'd guess to experience first hand, since most of those guys ended up dead or locked up. That's it for today, till next time 👍🏻🏴‍☠️

Are you missing something right now? do you really think that if the allies had united with the nazis the world would be very different today. It would be the same, only LGBT/feminist flags would hang even in Arab and Asian countries. You still would not have been able to change the development of society and abolish the dominance of liberalism and democracy; the Nazis would still have collapsed due to the influence of the United States, since the ideologies of the United States and Germany would have been diametrically opposed. Germany would sooner or later become slave of America, she would experience the stylish cultural influence of the United States, Germany would eventually become just as liberal and tolerant.

Too many tend to go to either "side's" extremes on their views of these events when in reality, they are incredibly detailed, complex and ultimately tragic stories. Given it was the precursor to WW2 & validated the Axis' fears of incoming Communist revolutions, disguised as "democracy" and supported by the "capitalist west", if it wasn't for the Spanish war, WW2 may not have even happened. Similar with the 1936 Xian Incident*, essentially the catalyst of the Asian theatre of WW2, and how the Mukden incident, the nationalist massacres of the "warlord era" of China, and the Japanese victory in the Russo-Japanese war, all precipitated the Xian incident, and thereby the Triparte pact, Japanese expansion into southeast Asia & war on the US. * [Stalin & Mao, as a response to Japan signing the anti-Comintern pact & due to Stalin's fears of a two-front war, arranged for Chiang Kai Shek to be kidnapped by his own generals to end the Chinese civil war against Mao & focus on attacking Japan instead, who was at peace with China up to then, so that Japan couldn't attack the USSR]

    I have, over the decades, grown to suspect and dislike Churchill. I often apologise to Germans for the firebombing. I found your channel by happening upon a detractor of your work. Within five minutes listening to said detractor, I heard things that made me doubt him and I have come to see what you’re saying as a result. I knew about the skullduggery around Poland who behaved (imo) like that nasty little bully who acts with impunity due to the presence of his big, muscly mate. … But I had no idea quite how much effort Hitler put in to trying to avoid war. Nor quite the extent of his affection for Brits in General. I often try to imagine how the world would be if our leadership had not (possibly) been under the thumb of the (possibly) rootless. Your detractor (name forgotten instantly) includes lists of citations. I hope you do to. I’ve been fascinated by WWII since I was born just after and raised on ‘Chocks away Chaps!’ films wherein Germans were totally villainised. And of course I watched the introduction of the Holocaust and became somewhat morbidly fascinated. Naturally, this was what I wanted to research when the internet was first unleashed. Since then….Thousands of hours (albeit amateur), of historical examination has left me much more on ‘your side’ as it were. Fascinating work. I shall watch all of your films with as open a mind as I can muster.

    Quite nterestingly. The Admiralty actually hesitated considerably in sending ANY actual battleships (considered to be effective and not antique float boats) because the luftwaffe would have infact sunk them. Yes sounds weird when the RAF did so well against all odds, but it's the channel we're talking about. The losses would have been so horrific that there was a real possibility the royal navy would fail in the beginning. Well it's speculation but it was interesting to learn.
