I'm with you I started playing Cod since 2007 I'm 43 years old I sucked at cod but I kept playing and I was a 3 KD dude once black ops 2 then I noticed with each yearly release my stats got worse until I eventually just quit sbmm ruins it for good players. And Xdefiant is alot of fun.

According to Steam charts, the game has an average of 75000 players in the last 30 days. And these are the figures for MW2, MW3 and Warzone combined, because everything runs via CoD HQ. So even on Steam you can't say exactly how many players are playing MW3.

We have absolutely been proven right about SBMM. I've had more fun in the past few weeks of XDefiant than I have had in every FPS game I've played in the past 5 years. Hopefully this is the wake up call the gaming industry has been needing for a long while.

And that’s why in my opinion they should make every game that has a casual playlist with disabled SBMM for everyone in general. However they should also have a specific ranked mode for everyone who is taking the game seriously. In Tekken 8 it offers that exact option and I love that game even tho it’s not FPS based.

I refuse to buy another COD again. Xdefiant, on my first game, I fell in love with it instantly. One of the best things about this game is that skill truly is based on performance: if you’re doing bad in-game, it’s because you’re generally doing bad. There’s no feeling of being cheated on a win because a loss is directly tied to you not playing objective, or not getting enough kills, not because of shitty SBMM.

It takes me a minimum of 4 minutes to get into a round the avarage ping is like 80 and I startet recognizing the "One easy round, one round I get steven hawkings as teammates" pattern more than comfortable. Could be a coincidence though. Still enjoy it a lot.

im washed as an older FPS player but 2 things ive noticed about my personal numbers between SBMM CoD and XD: - my Kills per game is 6 kills higher in XD than CoD - Im able to maintain a 1.1+kd in XD while using a variety of weapons than in CoD where i get punished for going off meta guns. CoD would drop my KD if i tried new things. It really makes me think that CoD SBMM is designed to make you feel worse than you actually are.

SBMM just matches you with people your own skill. I have a 2.10 in XD and I have lots of fun. I have a 1.81 in CoD and if I’m feeling froggy and irritated I get on CoD to take out some anger. I do have to carry most of the time in CoD against three of the same player that plays like me. Tolerable but annoying.

I feel also that the culture around multiplayer games has gotten worse. Now, everyone takes normal lobbies way too seriously, only using the most meta weapons and tactics. Gone are the days of old COD public lobbies where people ran either sniper rifles for clips or the most outrageous loadouts that would make the ATF have a brain hemorrhage. I wish people in the COD community did the same thing as Battlefield, where they went back to the old games that were fun and more casual. The OG MW2, MW3, COD4, WAW, BO1, and BO2. But those lobbies are unfortunately dead with barely enough players to have a full lobby.

Cod wants fair games. The ping situation has always been an issue but it also has to do with personal internet providers. They’re not perfect .I pay $120 dollars for my internet and some days is dog shit. So is an excuse. To sell it to the lil kids that believe is that easy to drop 70 kills and win games on your own. He’s a cry baby skill based works fine for people that wanna be in a lobby with same skill as them. Make it make sense bruh How can you get better when you face players better than you, especially with SBMM/EOMM rigging your matches and lobbies disbanding. Also the better you do the worse your connection gets and everything else that goes with it. Not fun playing in a sweat fest every lobby that just draws people away instead of bringing them in.

Of course playing with better players will improve your performance. Playing with shit players all the time won’t. So as you progress the game puts you in games relatively close to your skill level. It makes sense. These KZreadrs just hate that they can’t drop 100kills on a lobby of noobs, edited so that their young audience clicks on their videos therefore they make an xtra buck. And just so we clear, I respect the hustle. Do it. However when it no longer works, don’t come here crying that sbmm is trash and blah blah blah. Nah. You do not get into lobbies fast on X Defiant. That’s one of the issues my friends and I first noticed. It’s takes about 3-4 minutes in between games to load a new one

Bro i had so much fun Playing mw3 without sbmm. I was playing one day and skill based match making was turned off and i saw bad players, ok players, and good players. Then the next day i was put in matchs with people sweating their ----- off. Idk how it happened though

Making too much sense. That's what we have RANKED PLAY for. If you want sweat and want to be a pro, go there. Cant even get on and have regular fun without sbmm throwing us in cheat/sweat lobbies. Also like you said it takes forever to find a damn lobby in COD.

Biggest problem I have with XD is as far as I know XD is not offered for the Xbox One, only XBox Seriex X/S. I know lots of people that really want to try it but they are stuck playing Multi in MW3 because COD still offers their latest games for Xbox One, at least for right now.

Played two matches last night and got top of the boards. Next two games unable to compete. Logged off. This is the recurring pattern.

it does, but it is a very light sbmm. the transition out of the playlist was seamless. it’s just a level locked playlist, and it’s very very light sbmm. I do just as well in the normal playlist as i did in the welcome playlist.

I blame two people for what COD is today that is 1. COD pro league players/KZreadrs 2. Fortnite because nowadays these are what the average COD player think they are a professional players sweating their ass off in casual matches for literally no gain with their 20$ clown or bunny outfit smh this franchise went so far away from what it was it's sad

I like COD for it's Champaign and how the characters impacted you. BO1, BO2, MW3, MW2, Ghost, MW1, WAW. All of which were great to decent. I can't connect with the new CODs it's dry and re-ran. Muiltyplayer was great till 2020 and that's when guns were getting unrealistic attachments on guns that a normal soilder could not and would not handle. Or the case of skins of a gun make it better because the barrel is longer or shorter or the sight change. Just be good at the game and it's base weapons. I like xdefient, the sniper are brutal but I still have fun.

Players that aren't very good, Have a horrible experience in xdefiant. I was so close to quitting after just a few hours. Im not doing terrible now like a 1.0 kd. Getting used to the less aim assist and leveling guns, but some games are just very frustrating.

Xdefiant cons I have is people are just playing to upgrade their weapons. No one is hardly even playing OBJECTIVES. I think WBMM should be in Xdefiant.... meaning Weapons Base Match Making.... so if you have your weapon equal to those you play.... compared to someone that just have started weapon and has just one attachment.....

You're pretty much right on and SBMM made COD a chore. I quit playing because no matter what I did to improver my internet, and even went from PSN to PC, I would ping around 90ms. I was a solid 2-2.5 K/D from MW to BO3. Ping kept getting worse over the years, K/D leveled out at 1.2 with MW 2019 and I literally avoided playing because it felt like a chore. Then the hackers... I picked up XDefiant last week and been having a good time. Yeah, it's basic right now and there is no TDM, but I played for 4 hours yesterday before I got tired. It's a simple and fun FPS to be able to go to.

Get penalized for being good but if you play with buddies not as good as you they’re not having fun either. Quit cod years ago because of SBMM system

People can say what they want but everytime someone challenges my view on SBMM being a huge problem in call of duty I ask them to either 1v1 me or keep up with me when queuing up in my lobbies… bare in mind I only have a 1.12 KD & my games are absolutely back breaking when I do decide to try playing PvP instead of zombies 😂 oh by the way no one ever takes me up on the 1v1. & none of my friends want to play with me because they know the competition will be heavy

The thing is, from my personal experience, is that due to sbmm we get worlds better but don't notice it anymore because lobbies stay difficult. 7 years ago I got oblitareted in og mw3 for example. Played it recently since microsoft forced activision to fix xbox matchmaking in old titles and out of 5 games I played, I got out with 80 - 6 in average without even trying. This is what sbmm does to you

Xdefiant does have SBMM until you reach level 50. Its so players can get used to the mechanics and gameplay. You don’t notice it because it’s not as crazy as COD sbmm.

Is that aim assist in cod ? when they crosshair gets stuck on me until i'm down ?😤 can't go up can't go down can't go left or right ... + they shoot next to me and get hit markers cod is gonna be my death 😅

The only problem i have with XDefiant, it is the lack of hipfire accuracy.

COD just getting hate is actually sad, considering i play their games since MW19, and tbh it has the same gameplay for 5 years. Fortnite and other competitive games have way complicated ranked and skill based modes. Never get bored SBMM/EOMM imo I completely ignore it And its haters simply think the game is bad, but what they are blinded is SBMM and Cheaters. If you include the gameplay and modes, it clearly brought some things back to the game like Map voting,slide canceling,faster movement,OG maps, and OG modes So, imo the games are decent. I dont play the campaign, but Zombies is decent to me, not as good as og zombies. Multiplayer, in the other hand its the same thing on previous cods since 2019, but this one feels better than MW2.Also streamers and CC's dont hate the game they play it few matches then leave wait untill their opinons on the game after its end. Give it a few months until the game feels refreshing

There is only one reason for disbanding of lobbies and it was introduced in 2019 with a controversial patent and the start of sbmm manipulated matchmaking. XDefiant absolutely has sbmm

Having uninstalled cod 3 months ago ( first cod ive quit in 12 years ) I was waiting patiently for this game and it didn’t disappoint. Once you’re out of the welcome playlist you will get into more competitive matches but in a GOOD way with STABLE ping as you said ! It’s a beautiful thing really.

the sbmm in the welcome playlist was basically nothing 💀 i’d argue the normal playlist is more competitive, but not in a sweaty cod sbmm way.

Yeah I’ve realized that in CoD I couldn’t get a win streak above 1 or 2, however in XDefiant I managed to get a streak of 6! This is blatant evidence that CoD has some sort of algorithm that predicts whether you win or lose.

I am high and dumb and sbmm is one of the reason l stopped playing CoD

SBMM is great for ranked play and when you got that rout of “I am getting good at the game, let's test how good I am against better people “. COD would have no problems if SBMM was only used in ranked play, but since it is used in causal play most people who just come home and want to play a quick match or 2 for 30 minutes they have out of their day now have to sweat every game become the game puts you in with CDL professionals or babies holding controllers for the first time.

I was a COD player since 2010. XDefiant has become my favourite game since May 21, 2024. I no longer intend to waste my money on the next COD games. Ping is King!

I think the actual gameplay on cod is galaxies better than xdefiant. BUT at least in xdefiant i fell like maybe i will win this match or maybe not. But i COD i feel like every match outcome is predetermined.

Xdefiant has sbmm in ranked. But not in casual play. Sbmm is not bad in itself. Stuff like latency nerfs, bullets evaporating and all that is something cod added on top of sbmm. The only danger for xdefiant is that it will likely become pay2win because of abilities and all that. The best part about xdefiant is that you can disable crossplay and get rid of modded controller newbs, something you can't do in cod.

Also there is a company aboout to release aimbot and walls for Xdefiant...... coming from the same company that released for COD.

Xdefiant is everything I’ve been wanting in a fps game. They even have ranked coming out. It’s over for cod

If Overwatch and Fortnite had no SBMM, those games would be mega fucked. What about ranked having SBMM in XDefiant?

COD is a special case in my opinion due to the many game systems at hand in the game. Killstreaks are one of the core aspects of the game and incentives the player to stomp the other team. The most memorable cod matches are the ones where you go on crazy killstreaks and spawing chopper gunners and other streaks that decimate the other team. This leads to fairly polarizing game play (think about dogs in black ops 1&2 or chopper gunner>ac130 in mw2). Create a class allows u to make some pretty goofy off meta builds, but its hard to justify using them due to how sweaty matches can be. Cod's addictive gameplay comes from the pub stomp. Sure those moments are more hype when the match is sweaty, but matches in cod become pretty stale when everyones getting around a 1.0 kd(imo). Theres a fundamental disagreement between the sbmm system and the gameplay design of the game. As a fighting game player i dont really mind getting stomped hard for doing off meta strats and stuff, but i get where the COD community is coming from with the whole sbmm discourse.

Never understood why would normals need sbmm. Its perfectly reasonable in ranked but in normals? Why?
