The thing is, actual high level players are allowed to cry about SBMM. The annoying part is, now everybody and their grandmother blames SBMM for everything. "I miss the good ole days, when I could just have fun!" - Oh really? You enjoyed it when I jumped off of the dome on Dome and 360 quickscoped you? Wait, you actually enjoyed it when I was able to strafe jump onto any building on Crash? So you did enjoy it when I was laying out in the open, gripping my knife, therefore hiding my playername and seeming to be a dead enemy, then suddenly I pop up and COMMANDO knife you in the back? Wait, wait we are true OG's right? So did you enjoy it when I nade jumped from spot to spot and you ate the explosion underneath and died? Anyway... I haven't bought a COD since BO3, so even if MW3 turns out to become a complete stinker, I'm fine with it. You guys have been buying it since 2012 consistently, although everything we have now has been predicted back then.

I said it multiple times I’ll say it again SBMM is literally one of the main reasons why I’ll NEVER touch another cod game ever again.

Played the beta and just isnt for me, not giving out 70 dollars for that "Esports experience" in every match when theres nothing worth gaining from it. I like to run and gun for the fun of or blast people with the shotty.

What the majority of players don't realize is, SBMM only affects the above average or higher players as far as giving them a bad experience. Lower skill level players have a normal experience. Not to mention, the higher tier of SBMM has the most cheaters.

I've been saying this for years. Most are cheaters or have some type of advantage they are using to get those high numbers. i once saw a group of players all using c4 constantly throwing them so the other team could not move, or would die on 1 to 2 hits. they also openly admitted to using cheats when they felt like it. when you checked top ranked list about 9 of the people they played with on a reg basis was between 1 to 100 ranked.

That’s just not correct, for example, I used to play an FPS at the pro level, and a few others at a semi pro level, but I can’t play with my casual friends because SBMM tries to meet halfway between the massive gap in our skill. That means they are getting wrecked, and I’m dropping 75 kills per game. Not fun for anybody tbh.

@@FPSBloodlust I had the same when I was starting with R6 (not playing anymore). My friends had around 1k-1,5k hours in game, had pretty tough games in which they actually had to think what they do but when playing with me they could clown how much they wanted because games were so easy for them. Was I learning anything? Not really because I was either killed before doing anything or enemy team was dead, were people in oposing team learning something? Probably also no because most of the time they were killed before even getting into building.

That sbmm/eomm you felt that was completely different from just your average sbmm, that's exactly what started to kick in on my account in mw2019 and cold war. It's a huge problem when your own sticky grenades stuck to enemies randomly just dont kill them after the game told you that you stuck them. And they explode while stuck to them and they just walk off. It's very different when you see player variables such as health and damage change in real time per player profile in front of your very eyes. It's almost like a mental block gets lifted.

But the system doesn't place you based on skill. The system is using a stategy to try to keep you "engaged" by literally manipulating your player experience. It's not "oh you're gradually raised to a higher skill bracket over time so you may face tougher comp," no it's "you've been winning for a bit, now it is your turn to lose." *That's the whole point.* It isn't to reward your skill or provide you with a better challenge. It literally decides as much as possible when you get to win or lose. It's based on a strategy used in Las Vegas, hence the name "engagement optimization." Problem is, it isn't making it more engaging, it's making players leave. COD isn't some slot machine.

one thing i have noticed about SBMM is that it’s not like you get put in a lobby with equivalent players. it’s like per team there’s one cracked professional no lifer, a couple decent ppl, and a couple trash ppl. no matter how much i improve i am almost always 4th or 5th on scoreboard and it seems it’s just going to be like this forever based on my first few games.

There is literally no other reason to support SBMM unless you are a below average COD player. I don’t understand it, because even when I was young and terrible at COD, my pride wouldn’t let me support SBMM lol. I personally think they should lower the SBMM strength greatly, with super good or super bad players as exceptions.

Nobody who is a skilled player would defend SBMM, since it directly punishes them. It is OKAY for you to like SBMM and support it tho. You just shouldn’t project that you like SBMM for any other reason than the fact that: it protects below average players that are alike to your skill level.

Dude I remember when I had a 4 kdr and a 5 w/l prior to MW2019. The kind of people who love the current eomm don't even know what it's for. It isn't even there to protect bad and average players. So, you'll never get long win streaks as they'll do anything possible like give you worse ping lobbies so you'll be someone else's punching bag. Then, they'll give you that fake high again .9 players. That's what they did to me in mw2 before I uninstall. 15/14 game. 56/3 game. Then 16/16 game against super sweats in France. I was done. Never bought a bundle.

SBMM makes it impossible to play with your friends and makes the connections terrible. It also stagnates player skill and ruins the games flow state. Lastly, if a player gets better they rewarded by moving up where they will get destroyed until they get bumped back down. SBMM is a revolving door of frustration and stagnation - but hey the skins look cool - I’ll buy one of those to make myself look like my Kd is 2.50

What are you talkin about my brother's KDs around 2.5 3k and his friends they play more competitive everytime I play with them my kd is not the high but I do pretty good I just switch up my style and play as a team and make sure my gun is basically On Target and I'm not even tryharding I don't use sliding dolphin diving and other try hard stuff😅

Former pro here... RIGGED GUNFIGHTS is the only thing we need to be talking about in terms of what ruins this game! There is no cap to how much they will rig the fights, as for me, I have FORCE FIELDS around enemies, its BEYOND AIM RESIST! SBMM is barely existent now compared many years ago, its the RIGGING of the gunfights which theyve been doing since black ops 1. They never had patents until the endless lawsuits surrounding ILLUSION OF COMPETITION took place. They named there first rigged gunfight patent BLOOM. Aim resist, dmg rigged, hitbox rigged, speed and animations rigged, footstep audio rigged, i could go on forever... the better you are the harder youll feel these parameters change for you! Its not about the money, that only leads you to the puppets in power positions, not the PUPPET MASTERS who run not just gaming but every MEGA INDUSTRY under the sun... Its darker and deeper then most are ready to comprehend.

I think people that say "skill issue" forgot/dont know what cod was like pre-manipulation aka SBMM

People are using skill issue wrong, idc if its "trolling or satire" the only time you would use skill issue if its someone raging or hating on a game that's challenging or takes skill to play, learning how to play call of duty is the easiest game to get good at, there is no skill issue in call of duty.

I believe it has it's place, if it's not too strict and is optional. I remember on the old fifa games you could turn it on or off. Recent cods have gone overboard with strict sbmm though.

Funny thing is the first weekend of the beta was actually enjoyable. SBMM wasnt as noticeable and my only complaint was constantly getting thrown into Rust (I still played them out and had alot of fun). Weekend2 is where it really started to show and I struggled to get even an ounce of fun during that weekend compared to the first. I really hope SHG continues to listen and at least tone SBMM/EOMM down because this is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best feeling CoD to have released in this post MW2019 era.

Landed on this video by absolute chance. Just the way you smack talk had me rolling. I played the beta, but I had a hard time telling if the game was cranking the sbmm or not because it almost always felt sweaty. Isn't SBMM supposed to have variety to keep me interested? I was always dragging my team or getting absolutely shit on. Just constant sweat with no breaks.

Man, I'm not sure who I like better; you or BT the COD father. You are point blank, and unapologetic. BT is in your face, and theatrical. I enjoy both of you so much, and both of you are correct. I was playing two different games during the MW3 beta. Most games, I was going against CDL championship players, playing on shit PING. The kind of shit PING where from my perspective, I'm melted in 0.3 seconds, but when I watch the kill cam, almost a full second of them firing 1/3 of their clip or more into me goes by before I die. Another example, from my perspective, I see them fire their gun like once or twice, but watching the kill cam, they spam-fired 5+ times...and I swear, there were times where it just seemed like my aim would swing wide for no reason. Some other games were either decently casual, to noob-ish, although, there was one game where by the end of the match, I was the only one in the lobby who had a 4 K/D, and the next highest one was just shy of a 2 K/D. Still, both types had great PING, and my bullets would go where I was aiming, and gunfight outcomes made sense. Hell, I even caught myself saying, "oooooo, good job man", after getting killed a couple of times. The swing back and forth between CDL and good PING lobbies was absurd. Here's a crazy thought. You know what I did back before SBMM became priority #1? When I was in a lobby that was getting too sweaty, or on the VERY rare occasion the lobby got too toxic, I was 19 back when the OG MW2 released, I would simply LEAVE THAT LOBBY, FIND A NEW ONE, AND KEEP PLAYING FOR ANOTHER 3 HOURS! Now, SBMM makes me want to quit playing before I get too heated and throw my controller at my TV screen. It honestly boggles my mind how they can screw up something as simple as "PING is king"...and for what, money? Ok yes, the majority of people still playing the game are beached whales at this point, but if ALL of us were still playing the game to the same extent we were back then, they would be getting more money. Be honest, the vast majority of us complaining about SBMM and the direction COD has gone in these past few years have still looked at a handful of the bundles in the store and gone, (inhales through teeth) "That is kind of cool looking."

Overwatch 2 player here. Stumbled upon your video an it's a breath of fresh air. I wish our community had more people like you. Right now everyone over in OW2 are in denial about their hidden MMR system having the same affect as the one in your game. The worst part about OW2 SBMM is that it isn't even like MW SBMM, where you mostly just get into shitty bogged-down matches with a stomp or two sprinkled in. OW2 is just a constant rollercoaster of Stomp -> Get Stomped -> Stomp -> Get Stomped. Infinitely.

I could deal with it if I didn't have the obligatory person who goes 2-24 giving the other team kill streaks that inevitably kill me like five times in a row.

I've been playing since cod 3. Imagine how i feel.

I knew nothing about the SBMM, but I knew the second I got my kill count up that the matches started getting very intense. Usually after a few good ones they'll put you up against challenging opponents. I'm well off regardless, but I could actually feel this immediately my first few days of playing it. I just got MW2 2022. I don't recall feeling this way about the OG MW2/MW3. Does it extremely bother me? Maybe not, but I definitely don't like the fact the system is rigged this way. I figured all this out about a week in. That's what got me googling and led me here. I knew I wasn't tripping. Hell, some of those matches will feel like cheaters everywhere. You'll sweat your ass off out there. It doesn't matter how good you are. I can hold my own, but if the team isn't working together we'll be down by 30 in no time 😅 Too good to be true at times, but I hate to be a lame and call cheating. I can take some competition. I get better from it. I dont want it to be too easy for me, but they're basically punishing you for being good. Some guys probably think they're really good until they meet seal team 6 😅 I see why people hate it. It's almost like living a lie. The system is designed to play a major role. It should be random.

SBMM isn't what is changing hidden parameters in real time from game to game. That's the real issue. Playing people of your skill level shouldn't be an issue. Now playing people your skill level while being nerfed that's an entirely different animal. And how it doesn't violate ethics laws and regulations is still beyond me because it should be considered match fixing. And people are free to disagree, I just never have had problems with SBMM. It's the EBMM/EOMM that was my problem. Playing people my skill level only made me better. I mean if I'm going spend my time playing a video game. I'm going to try my best. I expect other people to do the same. I've never seen your content, but yeah I'm not getting KoreanSavage vibes or anything like that. I blame pre SBMM CoD for people's perception of the situation and the thought that KD/R translates to skill is why you have people abusing algorithms and geofiltering to exploit the system for a high KD so that it would push views. It's all about money, just like why Activision devised the EBMM/EOMM to drive microtransactions. The only game being played is the CoD community.

Just wanted to add that as important a driver as micro transactions (if not more important) is “user server-optimization time” they want to funnel more daily active users through LESS servers and the way you get to that is through optimization that gets users to log on for a certain time each day. SBMM drives users towards that hour or two of gameplay which is ideal for them. Interested to see how this plays when they are on a bunch of Azure metal in the coming years at budget.

@@adamstern5116 Yes, to shareholders 3 million people playing short amounts of time has a higher probability of increased profits in comparison to 200k people playing eight hours a day. I'm going to laugh if Microsoft doesn't remove all the subversive tactics that are mentally, emotionally, and spiritually harming the community. To which all lead to physical health issues. They can then absolutely inherit the curse that plagues so much as the branding of these franchises. I feel bad for the people having to work on the games having absolutely no clue what is actually going on. However, this is the causation of meddling with things beyond their understanding. Keep an eye out, if they don't publicly disclose all of this nonsense. Grab your popcorn.

I completely agree that Cods SBMM is what is killing it, I started playing COD back in B02 and have been playing sense, but I am so done with these recent cod games over the last 5 years that I am for the first time, not going to be pre ordering a cod game or even buying it at all, because I know it's going to be much of the same shit, like I don't mind going up against my skill level and sweating here and there, but the older you get the more you just want to chill, I don't want to have to get on and face these sweaty fucks all the time that ruin the gaming experience when I just want to chill and frag and have fun.

@@JohnDee633 I don't think that's it at all, you just didn't run into all the good players 247 in older cods, but I do believe the cod community is more competitive than it once was, because players believe they need to be the best in order to be somebody.

I don't think it's a skill issue I think it's more like if you're a good player the game decides your preformance for you..one game you can lock on your target and make good shots get the kill and have a good game but the very next game your aim stops working sometimes your gun won't shoot and if you do manage to make your shot it takes half a mag to get a kill regardless of the skill level of the other player. If you reverse boost on a shitter account your hit reg and aim will be perfect..ask me how I know lol

Well technically it is a skill issue. the better your skill is the harder sbmm and eomm fucks you over. Never thought needing to suck at a game would be the way you need to play.

People saying “skill issue” isn’t exclusive to CoD. It’s used in many multiplayer games. And unfortunately, it’s more often used by under-average players simply trying to get a rise out of above average players.

I don't like having to try as hard as I possibly can every single game for it just to make my next game even harder. It's honestly stressful even opening the game knowing the type of shit I'm going to have to do and experience.

My only issue with it is it’s prioritizing skill over ping

😂 I totally understand bro. Every match I play it’s like I’m in a 100,000 dollar tournament and I have play like my life depends on it. The SBMM is ridiculous.

I dont think they should remove it but definetly turn it down alot. Like widen the skill gap so u have like middle gold tier players playing with like diamond tier just good enought to not get wasted all the time. Having such a narrow Sbmm just makes it frustating when u just wanna kick back n use a diffrent gun like the ebr or sumthin n your just getting shit on bc everyone your skill is just running around with the meta.

No joke, was playing Gungame with a friend a few days ago and a enemy survived the Victus .50BMG to the chest under 78m, then took 2 additional shots from a Deagle and survived. Definitely a skill issue on my part. I'll also mention I direct impact a dude with a drill charge in hardcore, and he survived without EOD. Got to love the fairness.

when I was a kid first playing CoD 2 on the PC, getting shit on by a better player inspired me to invest more time to actually become skilled. The coddling and protecting of people's egos through SBMM just creates weak gamers

I will seriously never understand the point of sbmm in non ranked game modes. That’s the entire point of ranked

I had roughly 5 amazing matches in the beta and then tried to help a friend level up to 30 before the beta ended and it was like I got put in lobbies where I thought people were playing for money IN A BETA. By the end of the night I was just over it, I hope the game is good but with the fact we only got a sliver of the game with the beta, because of none of the MW2 carryover content in the beta, it’s honestly not looking too great imo

I saw a dude say "get good" then brag about "ConSisTAnTLy" getting 20 kills a game 😂 SBMM has actually tricked these guys into thinking they're good

Me: *Dies while using a pistol and gets mad cause none of my shots hit.* Sweats: "Skill Issue." Me: "The issue is the fact that you're sitting in a corner and I mag dumped you but none of my bullets hit despite being pinpoint accurate. Definitely me and not the game upping your health and not registering my shots while you literally killed me with a bullet flying by my head."

I was just playing Al Mazrah resurgence and my teammates were level 4 and 5 (I’m level 1000), and I was matched against players having top 250 in WZ ranked calling cards. Not to mention the apocalypse of cheaters running in Warzone right now, which is ridiculous! Most stuff in MW3 is cool, expect for the plague that hit COD called SBMM. I don’t mind getting matched against some sweaty teams here and there, but not in every game and every engagement. I have to sweat my ass off. It’s the number one reason why I switched to DMZ-to just be able to chill. No fun whatsoever. Side note also the freaking tuning system is super annoying also.

I finally got gigabit and on most of my games I have like 5-9 ping , on cod? Usually 20-30, Ik it’s not a big difference but it shows how much it hurts latency, being punished for doing well especially in a “casual” mode makes no sense. If I want to have a good time I just throw a few matches afk, does that sound like good game design to you?

The cringe defense of SBMM is identical to the cringe defense of *floppy guns, blurry and smoke filled blurry graphics blurry, and the only way to counter that nonsense: Extreme aimbot aim assist.* Most kills in modern COD games look like full-blown aimbot.. People go from barely controlling where the reticle is pointed, to perfectly tracking an enemy through blur at 50m lol..

I feel like playing the beta is just setting yourself up to be burnt out quick on the game. Learned my lesson after playing a ton of mw2 beta and having to regrind content a few weeks later lol

I miss the days of not know everything about a game before you got it. you may have saw a few pics of the game in a magazine or a few commercials. now days you knew every may, every weapon, every secret thing. no reason to even buy a game because people have entire walk throughs online. what a waste of $$ games have become. I think this is also why people hate cod so much, they cant just buy the game and enjoy it for what it is anymore. maybe people should go back to renting the game first before buying it.

I used to play ground war a lot back in 2019 and I'd finish top 5 on the scoreboard every game. but in normal modes im always suffering sweating my ass off at the bottom, somethings not right

These people that support SBMM clearly don't even understand that it is screwing over everyone. As if they don't even understand what it does. I don't understand how anyone that loves gaming can want such a thing in any fps game. We need to be able to rent servers again and SBMM is also one of the main reasons they did away with it. I don't know why they don't do both. This isn't rocket science! Let people that want SBMM have that option and if you don't want it then have a option to turn it off and use a server browser to select your match based on Ping and location.

SBMM has ruined COD for me since 2019, i’m not bad at the game i’m just annoyed that i have to try my hardest every single fucking match We used to do alot of fun things back in the older CODs like trying out weird weapons and loadouts but we can’t do that anymore because everyone tries so hard as if there’s 10 thousand fucking dollars on the line

Im so happy i played CoD during the golden erra, Modern Warfare 2007 to Black Ops 2 in 2012 and after that i never picked up another CoD until Cold War and that made me realize it was all over.

People who complain about SBMM don’t realize how good at the game they actually are. Make an alt account on any game you’re above average at and you will demolish the competition. I’ve played at a high skill level in a lot of games, competitive and non competitive. SBMM frustrates a lot of players because they can’t dominate in the same way anymore. Players don’t want to admit that they have to learn how to outplay a lobby of players just as good as them. It’s like the granny shot in Basketball. It’s a near unmissable free throw shot. However, players think it looks lame and would rather have a horrible free throw %. Players don’t want to learn how to counter play or use different strategies. To them, their failures are 100% the fault of the game and not them refusing to play differently. Who deserves to have a more casual match? The guy who plays for 3 hours a day or the guy who plays for 3 hours a week?

First, its not going away sadly Second, it’s not just cod. I feel like SBMM has completely ruined casual gaming for good players & it’s sad to see. I don’t ever see myself hopping on any game for 7-8 hours no matter what. Maybe a part of it has to do w getting older but I def think SBMM factors into that

Had a good kd in mw2019 sumin like 4.6 and i actually enjoyed that game, didnt feel like my gunfights were getting manipulated but in mw2 i feel like the sbmm is still manageable but the eomm is what gets to me most. It makes me feel like i am not in control and consistent with my gunfights and gameplay.

Sweating 24/7 is exhausting and I’m the type of guy to easily pull an all nighter playin grill my thumbs get sore

At this point, i hope they CRANK IT UP EVEN MORE! Let the defenders feel like garbage for wasting $70+ on this game! Don't forget the other excuse everyone! "WE'RE BROKE" And to add onto all of this, we still have to deal with: HACKERS, REVERSE BOOSTER, THE PATENTS ALREADY DISCOVERED IN THE BETA, SHADOW BANNING OFF THE WALLS ALREADY, GLITCHES/BUGS STILL REMAINING FROM THE OLDER CODS

I don’t like how I would go 24-3 on search and still loose. It also gets annoying when you loose 10 games in a row because you constantly get teammates that can’t get kills while I do all the work.
