An underrated classic. I remember reading this way back and wondering why it isn’t usually used as inspiration. Glad Matt Reeves is the first to do so. I constantly bring this up whenever someone uses the idea of “Bruce Wayne is the mask and Batman is the face” too rigidly. Obviously the playboy persona is a mask but the human side of Batman, the man in the Batman, it’s the real Bruce Wayne. It’s the compassion and ideals of justice that makes Batman a hero still, and not just another villain or even anti-hero.

He made two of my favourite comics: this one and "Dc: The New Frontier". I wish we could have seen more of his work, but it's sadly impossible now. May he rest in piece.

Wow, this comic is crazily good, a inner look into the batmans mind, and the art is so good, like the old comics, so good 10/10

The way “Fear” is drawn is so cool it shows you this inhuman monstrous creature that is haunting Bruce for the rest of his life,MASSIVE UPS TO THE WRITER AND THE ARTIST THEY ABSOLUTELY OUTDID THEMSELVES.

This is the comic that influences him ? Badass

This is a really good, that delves into the psyche of Bruce Wayne and his no-kill rule

I remember reading this back in 2011 and I remember hoping someday that we'd see a director take inspiration from this comic, and finally matt Reeves gave me what I as a Batman fan has always wanted,

Okaaaayyy that escalated quickly. Would be cool if matt reeves incorparated this dark twisted psychological "stuff" in his interpretation of the caped crusader. Then it truly would be a NEW take. Bold. Fearless..(slightly demented) ...

So, this is the subtle introduction of Barbatos, and the likely origin of the Batman who Laughs? I mean, he's on his way to kill the Joker, right? And technically fear won, making this a dark dimension.

I hope they don’t plan on including the self analysis between Bruce and his Fear in the movie. I can’t imagine it’d translate to film well at all and would really slow the pace of the movie down.

Imagine this became a Pixar film, I can just see it because of the cartoonish art, but at the same time it would be kinda complicated for younger children to understand, and it’s dark.
