Private entities (the conference HQs) protecting agreements with private entities (the Networks) to use content provided by public funded entities (the schools). Hmmm - I wonder what they could be hiding. And anyone who thinks the networks would stop "doing business" in the state of Florida needs to get their head examined.

You completely glossed over the fact that the B1G, which includes Fox, CBS, and NBC also don't want their contracts made public. The simple fact is that large corporations NEVER want their contracts thrown out for public consumption.

I'm struggling to find another example where the taxpayers fund the content that the private sector uses for commercial profit. Maybe HS sports that get broadcast on ESPN. I wonder if those agreements are open to public view?

Yeah, and that's part of the whole thing here. "Why" do large corporations never want their contracts thrown out for public consumption? That question is never specifically answered in depth by anyone. Do they want such protection that covers potential illegal and fraudulent activities? Before Tijuanabill replies to me in an antagonistic way, I'm gonna say it. Yes, we the public do have a right to know what we as consumers are investing in when we watch ESPN-backed broadcasts. The case can't go forward for us to properly interpret the ACC's GoR unless we see the key details of the ESPN Agreement. It's absolutely relevant, and to say otherwise would make you look like an ESPN spy/apologist.

@@stevenvitte I'm not being antagonistic, I'm just disagreeing, in a polite and measured manner. Does Netflix have to disclose to you what they paid for the shows on their platform? Does NBC have to tell you what they paid the parent company of Saturday Night Live, to air the show? Do you have a right to know how much your grocery store paid for the lettuce you bought from them? Maybe the should, but I would be interested to know why you think so. Why do you deserve to know the private details of their business arrangements, when our own salaries are private, other business contracts are private, and all of the contracts of the business partners of ESPN, are private? Why does this one company have to disclose things that nobody else does? Is it because you have beef with ESPN, based on the conspiracy theories on this channel? I have no dog in this fight. I couldn't care less what people think about a TV channel. But I find the conspiracy theory stuff to be fascinating.

Governor DeSantis needs to block entry to Disney until espn provides the contract. You're shut down until you cooperate. February 2025. That's when espn has to shit or get off the pot. FSu and Clemson declares they are leaving by June 30 and enacts the composition clause. Its Florida, the Sunshine State, we the people have the right to know if you're a straight shooter or just a pos carpetbagger.

Trying to prevent mutiny on part of teams or conferences from being treated differently ..to the favor of the old guard. (sweetheart deals …My guess) Don’t want ESPN to disclose terms to SEC teams …different than ACC teams…??? which is probably an issue with Clemson/FSU ..and UNC. but unknown to the public. Tallahassee court….hhhmm…impartial…..?? Miami/FSU…ACC …vs Florida/SEC ???? UCF/B12 ?? Can of worms for sure. ESPN ownership of SEC network…conflict of interest?? Damn straight! I think the SEC can just sit back and let the ACC stew…and let FSU/Clemson go to the B10! Wait for the split and pick up the pieces that they want…if not…they still are stronger and have the capacity and $$ to win the long game! My bet….they are all working on a settlement …$$$ …and moving on…with a wounded ACC….waiting for UNC/ND to play their cards! ESPN is working the strings from above…puppeting the innocent schools and lawyers to get what they want…..sort of …’the one with the gold calls the shots’ ….interesting how…ESPN/Disney/Orlando/ Florida…is the center of it all….given traditional cable TV is dying…and profits are down..and Disney no longer has its cash cow….impact on College sports?? probable in the near future. Stay tuned…B12 will probably be left out for a couple of years as ACC tries to regroup….UNC is the key…..but they B12 have options too…..WSU/OSU/USF/Memphis/Tulane…..all waiting for a call…but the terms of engagement will be different for sure! Leaving two weaker conferences …ACC/B12 …competing with the SEC/B10…just what the Big boys want! A Big League and a Minor league! Which actually is what you have today..in Football…not Basketball…however, this could change overnight if SEC takes out NC and Kansas….oh…as the worm turns!! The fat lady is not even warming up yet!!

If those ACC contracts gets exposed? It could also get the tv deals exposed by all the conferences and not by the power 4 conferences. I am surprised that the G5, FCS non-football conferences, D2, D3 and NAIA lawyers not joining to protect ESPN and the ACC as well. It would exposed their contracts as well.

John: I agree. This is not difficult to figure out why Conferences want this hidden. The SEC ( U of F) and the Big XII ( UCF) don’t want their information public. Same for the Big 10 if they add FSU and ( or) Miami. The strange thing is Ms. Moody is doing FSU no favors. Why? If she wins it might give the Big 10 or SEC pause to consider adding them, for that very reason.

@@505premoto That may very well be true. But that's just how the accounting works. Also on that ledger, is a booster donation that was given for a specific purpose, of their choosing. The idea that boosters just donate to universities, with no strings attached, to spend willy nilly on whatever the university wants, is not reality. As an example, the OU coach makes however many millions a year, but the actual state is only paying about $300k to the coach directly. So no, I'm not a troll. I'm not trying to pick a fight. I'm trying to inform you of the reality of the situation. The comment I responded to, was making the false claim that tax payers fund these athletic departments, and that is factually untrue.
