After QC6, RC7. If the Queen takes the Rook, both have Queens on the board and white has a pass Pawn. Advantage - white. If Queen doesn't take the rook, to keep the Pawn from queening, the Queen has to either - remain on the light diagonal. RC8 checks the King and the Pawn queens with the Rook's support. Black loses; Or, if Queen goes to A6 (or anywhere on the A file) instead, to keep an eye on A8, rook makes space to check the king, most probably on H8(by taking the pawn). King chases Rook. Rook tries to make space to check the King again on the H file and so on. Either a draw or black loses most probably.

nope, he has Rb7 and it gets quite tricky for vidit because if he takes the rook, the pawn promotes and arjun is up with a past pawn on a2. So instead of taking the pawn, you have to block it with Qa8 and Arjun can take the pawn on h7. Its just not nice to defend, especially considering the time pressure; so Vidit accurately goes for the perpetual
