I'm born and raised in Arkansas. Several times I've received information directly from people tangled up (unwillingly) with the Clintons. I know the family of one of their victims. I'm childhood friends with someone who was a 'bag man' for them - I was shocked to discover that recently. I know a high ranking retired military guy that worked directly with them while Bill was president. He said they're the most evil people he's ever known. I met a lady in Mena who was the 911 operator at the time of the drug running. I asked her for details and she said 'oh we don't talk about that around here - they're always listening'. She said those who talk end up with a very short lifespan. They're also joined with the FBI so if you try to expose their crimes, those agencies will step in and silence you. They buy authentic police uniforms for their assassins to gain access and trust of their targets. I've probably already said too much. I'm not suicidal by the way. I just hate that money and power make people victimize so many in their path.

After I graduated high school I was working in Mena. I hung out at the local gun shop. A police officer that was run out of the Mena airport during a delivery, got some photos of what was going on there. He brought them in the gun shop one day and I was there and got to see them. I was probably 10 years old, but remember seeing black planes and helicopters getting tarped or shoved into quonset buildings. There was also a high fence "sanctuary" about 30 minutes away in the middle of nowehere that they had built for Mountain Lions. It was later revealed that they were using the cats as protection/cover for an massive drug operation.

One night I'm out on the deck and I hear a plane, not common when you're 120 miles offshore, so I'm looking for this plane and then I see it, flying low, no lights, just buzzed on by us. A small plane (twin engine), flying low over the ocean at night with no lights?? I highly suspect drug traffickers.

As a Naval Air Traffic Controller stationed in JAX FL early eighties, I was lucky to be assigned to a command which was the first to use a computer to combine radar signals from multiple stations into a single - huge - area for surveillance of the military warning areas in the Atlantic from Charleston to Daytona. Occasionally we would get some customs agents come in on third watch and use the system to track low flyers and guide their chase craft using their own radios. They thought they could just fly up the coast about 20 miles out and not be seen.

Barry had a trunk full of documents on everyone in DC.threatened to turn and was taken out. Louisiana State trooper whose crime scene was his(Barry Seals death) was taken over by the fbi. Which is illegal as all hell. Any how the trooper said the coroner had some of the stuff, found his dogs head floating in his pool and was threatened for what was in the trunk and to shut his mouth. Chapter 34 was ept from the book BARRY & THE BOYS but is now available in some sites. Explains Barry's death and how it was Ollie North and Je Bush who carried it out, not Pablo Escobar. Crazy but if you read that book with Douhlas Valentines book CIA AS ORGANIZED CRIME, and Fiona Barnets book EYES WIDE OPEN. If they were pearls they'd be strung together. Too many dots connecting drugs, sex slaves & trafficking, the Mob, politicians corruption, and more. Bottom line, CIA over anniversary again all through those 3 books and what really goes on.

Shawn likely doesn't agree with everything discussed but he lets the person answer instead of bombarding them with gotcha type questions. The dynamic is neutral, refreshing to see. I feel this type of discourse is becoming more accepted by society and I personally consider that a net positive in intellectual and societal growth.

The war on drugs was a smokescreen to cover the profitable "black market" economy of drugs. It's no wonder people today focus on pain pills, heroine, fentanyl and other derivatives of opiates as the enemy....yet the biggest pusher for the last 20 years was pharmaceutical companies.

I noted a few that were gone for days when I saw them again I asked them “where the heck have you guys been?” I was told they had been diverted to Mena Arkansa…it made no sense to me at all, actually it was a bit of a head scratcher but I didn’t give it a thought until years later I started hearing about Barry seals and the whole cocaine smuggling operation our government ran outta Mena Arkansas during the 80’s…they smuggled tons of that shit into the country…

As early as 1978, I watched C123's land in a pasture near Nella, taxi around and stop for a few minutes and then you'd hear the engines throttle up and it would take the tops off the trees tearing out of there. One thing I've never heard mentioned is military fighter escorts accompanying them at times. I saw it once and heard them one other time. I saw a pair of fighters at 8 and 4 pass over as a 123 dropped into Bell's pasture. They slowly circled the valley and as they came back around the plane was getting up and out. They just picked it back up and they split. The whole thing took maybe 4-5 minutes. At that time, there was so many retired military people living in that area (between Y City and Mena), it was crazy. A guy moved in near us in '78 that had been a lead communications tech for NASA on all the Apollo moon shots. Shit like that...

So that's why it was so good in Arkansas. I always wondered how middle of the country did that. Straight from the source.. that's crazy!!

I'll admit I didn't have much interest when I first heard of the guest, just because I don't really have any connection with the world of drug running... But wow was I mistaken! I shall not be of little faith again! Such a nice guy, yet another SRS episode knocked out of the park!

@@SV33381 I should have said 'interest' - you're right, I didn't word that very well. Movies, TV shows, documentaries, interviews - I've never been into the crime/drug running/cold case type genre. But this interview was a total pleasure to listen to 😊

@@chrisburke624 Aren’t you just lovely, Chris Burke. So many times I see an innocuous, complimentary comment, then someone has to be sassy. I ignore the trolls. You turned his vinegar into cookies. You responded as if his comment was friendly and helpful, even clarifying your meaning when any reader with sense knew exactly what you meant. I bet you will read my comment and think, oh no, he wasn’t being rude! I like you, sir. Wish I could be more like you. I’m inspired to try.

I just watched the movie Speed Kills starring Travolta. It was about the guy who created the Cigarette 1 speed boat company. It was put together really well. It shows how he was in a push and pull with the DEA and a relative of mobster Meyer Lansky. Around the time Lansky died is obviously when drugs were affecting the mafias operations. Aronoff was murdered in '87 and the mafia was dismantled in '89

Power struggle would be the correct term not dismantled. Like weeds they come back stronger and denser than before.

I’ve driven through some less than desirable places here in our country as many of us have. Once while sitting in the passenger seat while my wife drove us through OKC, a person ran out in front of us trying to open her car door. I told her to get on the gas and don’t let off. Another time outside of Marshall Texas while driving through overnight, man in a old Cadillac ran up on us passed us with a gun drawn and whipped in front of us and slammed on his brakes. Did this several times before we got close enough to the city. I could not get away from him and I was out of ammo for my 357. Thankfully he sped away when other traffic came into our proximity. Those were frightening times that were very uncertain. Nothing compares to the night I drove back home from an interview I had in Arkadelphia Arkansas going back home in central Oklahoma. It was a dream job for a very well respected company in my line of work. Paid well good solid people with the company. Beautiful area in the world. Wife on board the whole nine yards. I chose to drive home through Mena Arkansas and stop by to visit a major vendor for my line of work. Another exciting aspect was being that close to such an import commodity. I don’t get unnerved in stressful situations easily at all. Things tend to slow down very much and allow very intentional movement with thought for me. It’s after it’s all done and I reassess the situation that I realize just how dangerous the situations were. I’ve been shot at but not shot. It’s one thing when you’re in a war zone expecting it. A complete different situation when you’re not expecting it. That dark drive home from Mena Arkansas that night was bar far the most unnerving drive I’ve ever been through. Reassessing that night has left nothing more than more questions I don’t care to know the answers to other than stay the hell away from that place. Without details that will certainly be construed and hyperbole, and short said. They will kill you and tell God you died around those parts. I would have taken that job if it were not fit the feeling I was on the road to Perdition that night.
