As a pilot, I appreciate how realistic this scene is. The stall warning caused by a plane loaded out of limits, was awesome. Tom cruise is a light airplane pilot himself, and wouldn’t let this scene look all wack.

I also like how he didnt play the usual action hero like in most of his movies.
This is a true story, slightly embellished for the film but basically true nonetheless. What is very strange to me is that when the pilot betrayed Escobar he knew perfectly well there would be severe reprisals, yet he went on with his life as if it were all back to normal oblivious to the inevitability of a hit. Now that was STUPID!

This movie is a great example of how good Tom Cruise can be when he's not writing it into his contract that he must be portrayed as the universal good guy. He has some insane range, But for some reason type casts himself.

He was not the "good" guy in at least 4 movies: (movie ending in) "Taps" ('80), (initially in) "Rain Man ('88), Collateral" ('04) and (borderline in) "War Of The Worlds" ('05)... Many persons criticize Tom Cruise - I think he is a fine actor...

@@davidseres3030 My point exactly. He was excellent in those movies, But for every "Collateral" There's six "Mission Impossibles." I would be willing to estimate 70% or more of his catalog is just straight up him being the good guy. It makes him boring, not because he's a bad actor but because the majority of the time his characters are the cookie cutter action movie hero.

He's Maverick, he can fly anything, anywhere, anytime😎
Sad backstory. The day after filming was finished, the plane Cruise’s character flew, was destroyed when a careless local pilot slammed into the side of a hill trying to scud run due to poor weather. Unfortunately, on board in the backseat was a very famous helicopter and plane pilot for the movies, whose flying skills and camera systems were used in movies like the Transformers.
