    One of my bikes has the bbshd mid-drive motor. i chose that bike because hill climbs won't be a problem it's good loads of torque and fun for off-road. I also have a mountain bike with the bbs02, and I use 36T chain ring for maximum torque 🤞🏽

    That's really cool man, you have a lot of bikes! I could see how mid drive would accel on the inclines for sure, I think they're also way better for off road/jumps due to weight distribution being centralized. Cheers brother 🍻

    Oh look at that, another person who's sitting on a walmart bike for over a year with the purpose of "I will put a mid drive on this" :D Great video! I've always wanted to see what those batteries looked like in videos. Thanks for making this. Will be making a slightly lower powered 48v bbs02 kent trouvaille build soon, mostly for single track emtb use.

    Nice build, that frame looks great for the price. I've converted a couple of bikes using bafang mid drives. I usually throw away the brake sensors because I kept losing the magnets even when I epoxy glued them. Also makes it more neat because there is less cable management without the brake sensors :)

    Thanks man! Yeah mine have held up with the superglue, I feel the brake sensors are important for a mid drive because you need to disengage the power while shifting? Cheers! 🍻

    You can by spacers for a bigger chain ring.. i'm currently running a 52t chainring on mine.. :)

    And you might want to run a 36h back wheel as with less it's more likely of braking spokes.. i broke 8 before i swopped over to a downhill 36h Halo t2 wheelset..

    My conversion is a Trek 4300 hardtail with the BBS02 turned up to 25amps a 52v batt and a 52T chainring. 32mph throttle only with a max speed of 42mph full throttle (While peddling my ass off ) i have hit 46mph but i cheated as i was drafting a box truck on the flat !🤪! built for speed on the street only.. The whole bike weighs in at 55lb

    That's true you can add spacers, then you have to watch out for chain alignment issues though 👍 I've never broken a spoke on any bike before, but I am not really jumping my bikes or severe off roading. Yes I suspect with this bike if I ran a 52T it would do over 40 throttle only.

    Honestly over the years I accumulate mostly bike tools and plumber tools (Can't forget the Lab bench solder set up) and the crisscross application of those tools just hilarious when you don't have one the other set has the same exact 🤣... When I had the 750 I end up putting steelstick under the bottom bracket 😅They really should have Include some sort of bracket that goes under there because nothing stops it from moving 😅

    Yes, one can never have too many tools 👍 You never know what will be the one you need 😅 Yes, I am not super fond of this mounting style, I would like there to be another anchor point to prevent rotation, but I understand that would make it a lot less universal.

    what brand do you use when doing a hub drive motor? i wanted to put a mid drive motor on my mongoose wildcard bmx, but i feel like i dont really need the mid drive for it.

    For hub motors If it's 1500W or less then whatever is cheap (voilamart, juaopay, etc). I will use NB Power for 3-6KW, and if it's more than that (10-20KW) I will use QS Motor.

    If you put a motor on a bike, doesn't that make it a motorbike?

  • @hightech-lowlife

    @hightech-lowlife

    7 ай бұрын

    That could be one way to define this collection of objects. A lot of people forget that "motorcycles" started out as pioneers strapping small gas engines on bicycles. One could make the argument that all ebikes are motorcycles as they are cycles with motors attached to them, regardless of how that motor power is controller (PAS, potentiometer throttle, bluetooth, radio control, mind control, etc).
