The Clash - White Riot | Reaction!

A misunderstood song, this packs a punch. I've always loved The Clash's stance on racism and other social issues.
Thanks for watching!

One of the first singles I ever bought and I still get the hairs on my neck standing up when I listen to it. I could never decide whether the Clash or the Specials were my favourite band, now I'm well into middle age I've decided Half Man Half Biscuit are top of my list.

Mick Jones was the driving force behind the music. Joe was a prophet for his age, and could rally an army of the people in a heartbeat. Their anti-Nazi league concert appearance is worth a watch. I remember the struggle against fascists back then, and we need to remember it again. It takes good people to stands together against the rot of racism, not just students with placards.

Kinda difficult when most of the left are currently engaging in more racism than the right. The modern day Left "anti-fascist" definition of anti-racism is the antithesis of what The Clash and other people who pushed against racism were about.

"White Riot" is a classic call to arms to challenge the system that oppresses the masses no matter what race they are. The debut Clash album it appeared on is one of the landmark punk albums and is superb from start to finish.

love The Clash! I really respect artists who don’t shy away from social justice issues and politics like The Strokes campaigning for Bernie Sanders and their song “NYC Cops” and threw there support behind the candidate for NYC mayor they like

They were singing about things that are still relevant today, we haven’t really moved very far in 40 odd years
