The Clarifier

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is a video in which Alex demonstrates the use of The Clarifier. Its purpose is to make your beer super clear by filtering out yeast particles, proteins, and hop particles. Unfortunately, we have nothing positive to say about this piece of hardware. Take a look!

Thanks for taking the to to make even though the results weren't as expected. I just did a live brew with their trubtrapper on my channel and I was impressed. I am working on an experiment, trubtrapper vs hop sack. Thanks again for informing us! 🍻

This is great, guys! Most of the time I don't care about the clarity of my beers, but sometimes... just sometimes I do, and it's usually for a party or for a KZread video on my channel. I might have to try one.

On second hand, after seeing your results maybe I'll pass. My beer isn't usually that hazy anyway.

It worked as well as i thought it would as I saw the product. Its very hard to remove cloudiness from a beer with a filter that can be cleaned! Cheers

Thanks for the review. I never thought I needed one of these. I find that if I use whirl floc, cold crash and gelatine finings, I will always get a clear beer for the beers that call for a clear finish. Thanks for helping some of the brewers watching save some money on a product that doesn't work.......Take care, Bluefin.

mustang774 sometimes people put things out there because they know others want to "hear" what they want to "hear". Then they are SOL after the fact.

Thanks for the review. I bought the 5 micron before I watched your video and it worked pretty good on a DIPA that I aggressively dry hopped. I previously added 1.5 oz of liquid isinglass to the 10 gallon batch and crashed it for three days before I filtered it. On another 10 gallon batch I only crashed for 24 hrs and not fermenter finings. 5 micron filter clogged in 30 seconds.

Thanks for the video! I did the same with 5 micron filter and result was also the same. It removed hops particles, but yeast still passed

Where did you get the ball lock posts for the filter housing? I'd love to add them to my filter housing. Thank you!

I just use those regular water filters to filter mine. I am using reusable 10 micron filter and it's clear as crystal. When I am watching your video and at the end of your filtration, the liquid is not pushing through anymore I am assumed that it's not filtering properly.

I think you're looking at protien haze, something no filter will really do anything for. like you said, I think this is meant for particulate. however, as you mentioned, a good cold crash is better.

Rack to secondary cold crash and avoid contaminating your beer, by running it through another worthless contraption which your gonna have to clean and waist more sanitizer on.

Thanks for these honest reviews! Have you ever had any craft beers from Holland? Good breweries are popping up all over the place the last couple of years. We shoot short films about Dutch craft breweries, you might like our channel :) Happy to subscribe to your channel, cheers!

Just found this discussion today. Wheat beer will never clarify even with finings. Try the filter on malted barley beer, maybe it will clear it.

use it to dry hop. or use a 5micron filter instead. you could also rap the steel filter with cheese cloth
