Especially since it would have only been one story in between (silver chair) before the Pevensies' return! Furthermore, they could have given the Pevensies a bigger role in Horse and his Boy.

Now that I've read The Last Battle, I understand why it's never been adapted. They should have at least done The Silver Chair, though.

@@lesenax1515 It should have ended with a message about whatever you believe in being real and having to channel your beliefs for good. Perhaps "the last battle" should be the characters battling evil versions of themselves that believe in the same dieties as the good versions but twist the beliefs in a way that consumes them with evil. So many possabilities with that idea, notably I imagine a good Aslan and a good version of The White Witch (whose followers have changed the meaning of as a result of what I'm about to mention) teaming up to fight an evil version of Aslan (the worshiping if The White Witch being a response to the twisting of Aslan to comit evil acts). Knowing the religious allegories in the Narnia series that is the logical direction of the story, even if it isn't what the books did. The good version of Aslan would say "I never thought I'd die fighting alongside The White Witch", to which she'd respond "how about fighting alongside a friend" (yea it's a LoTR ripoff but it's a good theme to explore in a story like this). Another big theme would be the power of beliefs. Call these ideas essentially "agnostic Narnia" (not mattering what actually is beyond but instead how one acts on their beliefs) or "Pagan Narnia" (multiple dieties all being real, thus a focus on nature gods to some degree), where I think there's a good story to be told there. Also I believe there's a "World between Worlds" in Narnia (that Star Wars probably ripped off) that definately makes it a possible story in universe.
