Seen them twice, and both times they were just incredible live, Gary's voice, the harmonies and music, top notch. Very underrated band, always have been, should have had much greater sucsess. 👍😎

I agree. Bought the album 1988 when I was 13.

There is a realism and grittiness about Liverpool that produces unbeatable music.like the Christians.

They made some great music, underrated in my opinion, 🤔

I think I broke my Walkman listening to this amazing band. Play, stop, rewind….

Was 3 years into courting my , to be wife in 1987, lost her to cancer a while ago . Now just enjoying our music when we were so loved up. Love the Christians. 80s , great era.

Excellent song. First heard it on the radio several weeks before it became their debut hit,in February and March 1987,and it made me a convert.

Beautiful song, absolutely love it. Glad I was teen in the late 80's.

It was born of hard times. Liverpool and the north were still mired in years of fallout from the long,damaging recession that had taken place. A recovery had started to take hold in the south in the second half of 1986 and was starting to reach into some southern parts of the Midlands by the time this song gave the Christians their debut hit early the next year. The construction sector seemed to be one of the first to see the green shoots of a recevory,it seemed.

Artists who have something to say. Original and creative music. Doesn't exist anymore these days, only AI music- dull and soulless.🤖Thanks for Uploading🙂👍

Forgotten town, definitely not a forgotten song. The christians debut album was brilliant.

Massively underated by many. Absolute class act.

I was 17 when this come out. Brilliant times! Scouse bands 'kin rock!!!! (From a southern shandy drinking Londoner....).

I spoke to Gary Christian were i work today he is such a nice man he came in for garden items.

@@dazauto1400 I don't think that Garry was naturally bald, as both of his brothers had a full head of hair. I think he just shaves his head because he likes the look and the convenience of it.

I'd forgotten all about this song, but then started hearing it a lot on an internet 80's radio station. Now they seem to play Ideal world a lot instead. But I'm glad I heard it again.

Me 1st gig, Liverpool Empire 87. Will never forget the stage filling up with swathes of dry ice, the curtain rising and Gary walking out looking about ten feet tall!!! Awesome song from an awesome band. ✌️❤️👍

Yes, Garry looks about 6'4 to me. He's a lot taller than his brothers Russell and the sorely missed Roger, which is very unusual. Male siblings all tend to be of a similar height. The Christians were a great band from Liverpool that SHOULD have been huge, but for bizarre reason they never were.

I had all of there albums and they were way ahead of there time 🕰️…….i was right there and lived the moment 👏🙏🍀❣️

This was one of my fav songs growing up in the 80s. Still sounds really good with the eclectic beats and something catchy about it all. Great song and great band.

Brilliant band saw them (with Danny Wilson supporting) in Newcastle & blagged our way onto the guest list for the next night at Redcar Bowl & the after party. Cracking set of lads.

Yep, 12" Dub is great version. Bought the album a while back on the strength of that.

I can remember exactly what I was doing when I 1st heard this song, playing pool and smoking weed in my mates bedroom, no worries , no stress. Life was good back then.

This song was my ear worm this morning, and it doesn’t disappoint. I loved the Christians back I. The 80s and saw Garry playing at the Acoustic Festival, a couple of years ago. He’s still got it, and didn’t disappoint with his performance. There are such beautiful harmonies in this song too.

Off to see The Christians at Hanger 34 in Liverpool tomorrow night - can't wait!

What a good tune this was

I first saw them as a support band about 30 years ago at the Kilburn national or maybe town & country and totally fell in love and followed them for a good few years and then forgot how bloody good they were and have just rediscovered how feckin good they were/are

Saw them last weekend at Forever Young festival, with two of the band down with Covid they still played a blinder. Great songs.
