Agree with everything you analyzed, except in the case of Rema... SOMEONE in the crowd when Messiah and Barabbas were standing there as two options for release...had to have a very solid and bitter reason to start shouting "Crucify Him!!" It had to be someone who had a powerful enough 'story' to tell, to turn a crowd saying "Hosanna" when Messiah entered Jerusalem, to a crowd who seeked His death on a roman cross.... I believe Rema's father will be very busy telling his version of who Messiah is, to all who are willing to listen...and he is probably already in Jerusalem as well spreading his own version of what happened to his daughter, and who's to blame...

To be fair, there were huge crowds crying Hosanna, whereas only a select group of people would've been present at the trial to cry Crucify Him.

I assume they were mostly paid or friends with the religious leaders.

Thank you for breaking down this episode. I understand your thought about Jesus’s contact with Martha, so perhaps you thought similarly about contact in the finale? The politics at play in the episode really show how we can get caught up in the letter of the law. From the scene with the Romans, to Jesus’s hair being washed (and the wonderfully written dialogue) clearly highlight how difficult life can be. Thank you for your diving into scripture and adjacent historical texts. God bless.

20:04 G'day! Do you think that law may have been applied in the case of Simon of Cyrene, who was compelled to carry Jesus' cross for him?

What version of the Bible to you use for these videos? I love when it says Yahweh instead of LORD.

@@NowLetsBeHonest the csb reads so much better than the LSB. Obviously, we are so blessed to have so many options.

@jwatson181 yeah most English Bible translations are pretty readable, which is super nice. I mainly prefer the LSB because translation philosophy is less focused on the modern reader and more focused on attempting to replicate the intentions of the original author.

Which prophet are you that you have authority to proclaim something heretical? I'm guessing if you have any authority it comes from a degree, not from a prophet or apostle. And that's paper, not power.

Heresy refers to something that contradicts the teachings of Scripture. You don't have to be a prophet or have a degree or have any "authority" to declare something heresy; you just have to read your Bible. (I guess I could respond by asking which prophet are you to make such authoritative assumptions about a person you don't even know. That's presumption, not power.) That being said, I didn't "proclaim" anything heretical in this video.
