But extremely hard to say that its going be a good thing in the long run when people, on the back of all that has happened the past 12 months, potentially have just lost everything (maybe again) as a result of genuine lies. this isn't good in the long run, this is just a terrible day

No, you guys missed major piece from here, sequoia capital. Sequoia Capital didn't pay its seeds fund to Binance and asked token when BNB moon, Binance refused then Sequoia Capital and Binance didn't like each other. And Sequiia did much media damage to Binance Then Sequoia brought large piece of FTX & Binance wants to sell its piece in FTX. CZ defences DeFi/Decentralization? maybe but maybe much complicated.

Centralization is the Achilles Heel, but blockchain transparency is the medicine. The reflag is where CFi is recreated and same wealth concentration is established.

Great discussion. I can always tell when stuff is serious when Haseeb gets ramped up and talks at lightning speed. But as a production matter, when it gets code red for Haseeb, you probably shouldn’t have Nic on bec I think that man purposely talks at half-human speed. I thought that dude was high when I first heard him, but he’s too rational to be high. I’d hate to hear him if he ever got high bec I can’t imagine how slow he would talk. Anyway, the question I had was, when SBF described his yield farming business as literally a Ponzi scheme when he spoke with Matt Levine a bit ago (also a pretty smart and rational guy with a challenging voice to listen to) were there red flags that should have been picked up by the crypto community or was it somewhat brushed aside bec of SBF’s prominence? Was wondering bec when you listen to Matt Levine’s interview, he specifically calls out the Ponzi but SBF almost doesn’t seem to understand that that’s what he described.

what crypto really needs is self regulation. An org that estb operating criteria and certifies those who meet it. Others are looked at as shady. And an org that publicly reviews code to warn of the potential for hacks. Crypto has to police itself until conscious in DC rises enough to understand it's value
