Shawn Christianson the diff with Brady is that he was chosen hella late. But he chiefs moved up to get him. They strategically moved up to draft him when they had a starting qb. They knew what he was gonna do. Brady becoming a great happened on accident. That’s why Mahomes is a crazier pick

Mahomes went 13-16 in college lol. But give him the best offensive mind in NFL, a year to sit behind a probowl QB to learn, a dynamic TE that makes plays on 3rd down or in the red zone, the most explosive, fastest WR in the nfl to constantly take the top off the defense thus allowing for underneath slants or screens to constantly allow 3rd string WRs like Robinson to turn 4 yard dinks and dunks into 10+ yards after the catch first downs, and a consistently above average offensive line that gets the job done and look what happens for a QB. Shocking I know.

I grew up a die hard Falcons fan, and my brother grew up a die hard Chiefs fan. I can remember telling him that Mahomes would be the piece to turn the Chiefs into a powerhouse. The pieces were all there, just needed that special qb to get them over the hump. Tons of respect for the Chiefs as an organization - a lot of teams would have rested on their laurels after winning 12+ games a year with Alex Smith.

It's kind of dizzying when you list all of those things after another. And he's just really getting started if you think about it. I remember being so pissed that the Chiefs didn't choose DeShaun Watson that evening. And that's why I'm not an NFL executive and work in Customer Service.

Texas Tech Red Raiders have never benefited from a defense whatsoever. Mahomes' losses were the result of shootouts like losing 42-49 along those lines. The fewest point's Mahomes' ever put up was 35 so what does that tell you? Dude can ball & make all the throws. Thankfully in the NFL he's benefited from a solid defense that has allowed him to take his game to new heights.

The reason he didn’t go higher was because experts didn’t like his awkward (but effective) footwork. And he is a gunslinger so he was prone to make mistakes. But he almost always made up for it and scored on the next drive. He one had 800 yards of offense and 7 scores, in a game he lost.

As a Chargers fan i gotta say Mahones was a heck of a pick! He is super talented and our division is always hard to compete with!

Maybe you can argue Steph but I dont think he's at the level of those three named.
