I remember back in the day, safe spotting tzhaars using a rune halberd, while chatting with people doing their fight cave attempts. I miss those days. I'd never safe spot with a halberd nowadays, but I look back on those days fondly. Great times. I honestly miss not knowing the best/most efficient way to play the game. Everyone was much more social, mini games were popping, and nobody cared that someone was "wasting XP".

So, I don't think this means Chrisaki ruined the fight caves. In a way he - like some bug abusers - actually helped bring to light an update riddled with errors, which was brought to Jagex's attention. Some bug abusers....definitely have truly ruined a lot more than that.
Ah yes, i remember when no one knew how to play the game, it was honestly a more fun and relaxed time. You'd find out most things by word of mouth, we'd even do quests the old fashioned way.

We tried, were awed by its difficulty, and gave up knowing that better players would become legends to their friends, and maybe eventually teach us how :P This was back when every other milestone also felt extremely far off and impossible. I trained 99s in melee combat at no greater than 45-50k exp an hour at optimal best! Because almost any extreme achievement felt a very long away, the fight caves yawning difficulty gap didn't feel unfair, it felt like something to eventually overcome like all the milestones in the game. That said I still don't have a fcape
Bro I'm watching this at work and burst out laughing at the Caramelldansen edit. Love you.
I was in the clan with him back in 2005 when he had the cape. He was actually in a clan called demonic empire. I actually recently reached out to some people that used to be in the clan as well and it turned out he used to date one of them which no one knew about. He was a nice guy back when I spoke to him. No idea what he’s doing now.

Rangerboots were actually a few mil, between 3-5mil. And the ranger hat was about 25 mil. Fury was closer to 15 mil, and Guthans was way pricier than that, 9 mil was the price after a while. When it first came out it was closer to 30

If you manage to exploit safe spots like this with a reward like the Fire Cape, which can't be traded and while it makes you a bit more powerful doesn't break the game, you should be allowed to keep it. That an oversight on Jagex' part, not you breaking the game.
@CMKloser
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, maybe they could have made it into an unwearable version unless you used another firecape on it. Then you could just make people get a 2nd to prove they could do it. Also would make a super rare account if they left the fire cape unwearable to this day.
@BigDaddyWes

I agree. It's definitely not cheating at all and it was in no way a player ruining the fight caves. I watched this entire video waiting for the part where someone cheated. Nope. Just a bug in the game.
@mr.messofgeorgia
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, not a cheat at all. even today, OSRS is stuffed with safe spots. I used one to train my ranged on a scorpion in Al kharid. There's a triangle of bushes you can lure it into that it can't get back out of if you stand on the north side. imo for it to be a cheat, they'd have to be literally injecting code to get the item, not using the own game's oversighted mechanic to their advantage. That's just cheesing.
@A_Goat
Жыл бұрын
@@mr.messofgeorgia You make a fair point to an extent and I agree somewhat however to play devil's advocate this isn't the same thing as luring a scorpion behind some bushes or safe spotting being an oversighted game mechanic. This is breaking NPC aggression and nulling the NPC entirely. 10:43 you can see it is not only within range but within path to hit him but is not even aggressive to him because it is in a state of returning. Similar to how when you run away from an NPC and it drops aggro then returning to it's area. Only here it cannot find the pathing to return and returning has prio. That is what was being done by luring it away from Italy Rock. This is exploitation and against the games rules. Broke the fight caves entirely because they were using this lure method to null most of the waves.

Man that clip at the beginning of the dude in mystics water blasting the blob sent me back. I was a kid when fight caves came out and I didn’t fathom completing it. I’d go in and use it to train all my combat stats up to wave 30 or so- magic and melee especially. Never knew things were set in stone wave wise, so I always thought a mager would come out of nowhere and 1 shot me at any time.

I remember doing this back in the day, used two crystal bows where one was meant to be kept at full power and the second bow would fire the last few shots so that it would take the degradation hit. That way you'd have a 10/10 bow for most of your attacks.
Got my first fire cape early 2006 after 13 failed tries on a very slow internet, was super satisfying. Still got that original cape on my rs3 acc.
To clear up some of the bit about the clan mentioned, Imperial Forces - I was in the clan at the time (refer to my youtube name). As far as I'm aware the person who played the account at that time was not the person who got the original fire cape - i.e. gave the account away to someone else. This was 13-14 years ago or more, so my memory is a bit spotty, but this is what I recall. I think he may have turned up to one clan war, but again, not the same person. Nice to feature briefly in your video though! (lol)
i would absolutely love a boss stage where you need to stealth across somewhere and use the ring of stone and other form altering stuff to hide from them. that'd be fucking cool
This video ended really abrubtly, I thought you were gonna be like "and it was Chrisaki who got the d2h, which raised further suspicions that he didn't legitimately get the firecape, nor the d2h" and explore that further, but it was like "and it was chrisaki who got the first d2h, cya"

At 9:15 warlord might have been a higher rank than it seems, closer to leader or high council. In my clan at the time we did a lot of clan wars and we had the same rank structure. We had a warlord. The warlord was responsible for setting up clan wars with other clans warlords. The warlord's posts on the forums were treated similar to a leader. The warlord also called the shots in the wars, they would be in charge of choosing who to focus and would be the only one really talking in the teamspeak. If the warlord died in the wars then the leader would take over until the warlord got back to the fighting area.

I waited until a monthish after fight caves and Guthans was going for a little over 20mil at that point. Did fight caves in full guthans, glory, obby cape black dhide body and karils xbow. I can remember in roughly 2006 I bought 10m gp on my main, tried the fight caves in full gilded with a dragon longsword and was swiftly banned for rwt 😂 lesson learned very fast!
My RS3 account was made in 2005 and it's long since maxed but I still don't have a fire cape. An individual whose name is still in the credits for tip.it's Fight Caves guide was my friend at the time and I was a child basking in their infinite wisdom and skill, it seriously felt that way. Now we can feel that Jad is relatively simple - but how great it was when everything was a mystery, and your friend at school that day would eagerly talk during recess as he'd just discovered something you've never seen before! It all felt so new and fresh and I'd waste my single hour of RuneScape time a day (thanks mum but i still didnt get homework done lol) running blindly around areas or asking people solely about stuff they did in the game and the money they made. Everyone above a certain status felt like a celebrity and when you stumbled across a group of players who talked to each other regularly, it really felt like a community.
"You'd be paying at least 9-10m" I sold a Guth helm for 9m around that time
When I was doing my first fire cape last week I asked opera's ai for some advice and got stuff i already knew, however it also lied to me and told me jad had a special attack, didn't know it was an old rumor
wait, you can move the camera without the arrow keys?
So... He wasn't actually a cheater? It was just a safe spot :/
Idk why I remember this buy Guthans was exactly 13m at this time. I remember not even knowing about how Jad swapped attack styles and tried to brute force it with guthans LOL
Back in 2005/2006 there was a a pure that managed to get his fire cape at lvl46. Happens all the time now, but back then people were flabbergasted that this guy managed to do it without full guthans. Things were much more simple back then, good times.

Actually one thing with 'what Jad uses at the start' when he spawns, if you are at a distance, he will always use a Ranged attack first and then at random, what the post claims. In the same post you showed he also mentions he also uses all 3 styles of combat, but what he's implying there is the very first attack he does when he spawns, before going all random. Am not sure, if this is a weird case of Deja Vu, but I remember that being the case mentioning it even on older guides.

So i have some information to add to this story! Chrisaki was actually a Women - lived with my mates mum for a short while when i was younger, Had a few very high level accounts and the Clan was actually Demonic Empire! Now, She definitely had access to the account, but as with alot of clans back then alot of accounts were shared - so she might not have been the actual player to do the cave or original owner but did frequently use the account She gifted me an Obby set (Cape + Shield) and full rune on my very noobish account and showed me how to get Klank's gauntlets which were BiS at the time.
