Stephanie visits the Chateau de la Basmaignee for a few days of fun (and an unexpected party!) with Michael and family. Oh, and they embark on a crazy project to make a ludicrously elaborate bed for Titi, the dog 💙
'The Chateau Diaries' is a weekly vlog about life at the 16th century Chateau de Lalande in the heart of rural France 🏰

5 years in the future here. My, how things have changed with Chateau Diaries! I realize why I fell in love with this charming show. Now, with all the characters and happenings at Lalande, the renovations of the Chateau and the Chapel, and so many adventures!
How in the hell am I completely obsessed with this..... I have no idea. 4 days ago I didn't even realize this was a thing going on in France. But alas, I find myself completely enthralled in this journey.

Sean Kernan omg...me too, 4 days ago...I became entranced - first looking at endless abandoned castles in France and other parts of the world, then this appeared...I’ve been binge watching since then. Happy viewing!

That's the loveliest dog bed ever! 🐶😊
I cannot (well, I should) believe how Muchael just made that canopy out of little finds and wire lying around and then Steph makes all the fabric, within a day of finding a little cradle/bed. These 2 are genius and ultra creative together or alone.
I have a crush on Michael, he is such a sweetheart, a little cheeky, super talented and creative and unafraid to try new impossible tasks, and he is very easy on the eyes. You two make such sweet friends.

I love Michael's Brit accent. I could listen to him all day long. He kind of reminds me of Jude Law, both in looks and the sound of his voice. Very calming!

I’ve been a fan of both Stephanie and Michael for years. This is the video that led me to follow them both, and then their friends and family, for years. Thank you to the entire community you’ve created.
“I’ve ordered some ostrich feathers, which are coming in the post today” Brilliant 😂

How great it is to see the little darlings again! Thank God! You look amazing, I missed you so much! That must be heaven for you, Stephanie and Isabelle and Gerry! Enjoy every minute of it, sweet family!!!❤🥰🤗
Steph, you have to make one of these dog beds for Lancelot! 😍
LOVE the dog bed project! The "ridiculousness" of it, is perfection!
Since we're in lockdown, this is perfect to watch.
There is just so much to love about this episode from your rhubarb and custard party attire, the tours of your attic “junk” rooms, snippets from your party and the dog bed to die for. What a perfect escape from lockdown.
That dog bed is absolutely adorable! And how fitting for the chateau.
Would expect nothing less for a chateau TiTi pet. It's beautiful!
I found these two completely separate and I have spent 48 hours binging these videos! I love this pair! Fantastic!
What a beautiful couple you are making with Mickael ! You seem so close and complicit 💖
Love to listen to both of them - Stephanie and Michael - exchange dialogue with each other
Every girl needs a Michael! All that adventure, fun and friendship.
THE DOG BED!!! OHHHHH! It's stunningly adorable! 😍🥰
@14:30 The doggie bed is beautiful and I love that you’ve made one. Elegant and necessary for older doggies like Tina. :)

@@ayeshakhan950 Some have Bed and Breakfast and Weddings to pay so much anyway. But I suppose it helps if you have money in your family to help and family backing you to get started. They can live with you and you get to get yourself in order. No children to care for and this is their life. It takes money to get all the house renovated but then you often would need to rent out in some way for money, It would become a business. Unless you are just rich I guess? It does give you time to shop and create and most seem to be very creative and might have taken this in school too? But without some kind fo jb it is true it could not be done as you would have loans and taxes and the heating bills would be over the top all by itself. Often they go into groups of people who by into ownership with them. All the various ways can work to help defray some of the cost anyway, most likley?
Your friendship with Michael is so sweet and entertaining to watch ☺️

Yes indeed. It's perfect to watch in lockdown . Better quality than Netflix.
I didn't even know all of these Diaries and shows that Stephanie was doing , just stumble reading about it reading my early morning online news on CTV Canada. I've been hook, enthralled ever since just perfect for lockdown watch marathon.
I love the energy that Stephanie and Michael have! I really feel that this video perfectly captured all the fun of the ball. I feel like I was there! And that dog bed, it's the best thing I've seen all week! Hilarious and fantastic!
"I just tried to brush last night's curls out. I thi k it's going to be a big hair day." Love the big hair!
Wow. Really enjoyed the creativity. Loved that "Don't come near my bed" growl.
That is the absolute most cutest dog bed I have ever seen! Also, I'm in love with Michael...what an amazing person!
Your diaries are amazing and in my humble opinion better than the TV DIY SHOW. Cannot get enough of as it is full of fun and enthusiasm.

so adorable making regal bed for the dog...you guys are so much fun...can't get enough of the castle...thanks for sharing
Oh my .... I think I am in love with the both of you... and the idea of having a Chateau in the area. The problem with you all making it look so easy is that the Castles and Chateaus in your area will be snapped up by so many of us loving what you do! The secret is out! Love the videos.... inspiring, elegant, honest and thoroughly enjoyable.
OMGosh! That bed is epic. Just watched a quick episode while eating lunch and now find the need to go through the house looking for fabrics for a dog bed.
This was SO much fun to watch :D

I enjoyed this "episode" with the party at Chateau de la Basmaignee ; not the least you and Michael shopping for suitable attire which were beautiful and to top it off Stephanie creating the elaborate doll's bed just like that; using what you had on hand....you two are so creative; it is inspiring to watch. THANK YOU!

My antique french fashion dolls would kill for t=bed like that.Fantastic job.
The reproduction bed was such a treat..surely you have inspired someone with this delightful project..happy days. ♥
Loved the dog bed.
I truly wish, if a few spare moments are found, someone (my favorite commentator, ms. Jarvis, the lady of the chateau) would give a nice accounting of the pillar bed. I love furniture, but I truly love the large canopy master beds, similar to the one in the background. I haven't been as fortunate to see all of the furniture located in the Lalande property. it excites me to see nice appointments around for everyone to enjoy. the kitchen at Lalande has turned into a fine gathering place, shows its comfort level, and the Spode and other blue and white have established beauty, a fine collection of wonderful shapes and beautiful colors of blues and whites. it is so beautifully presented, and I have really gotten a good deal of study and enjoyment in following the collection, the gifts that have been made, and the overall excitement and profiling of good porcelain, ceramics, and, one of my personal favorites, crockery/stoneware. I enjoy the learning, education, and study of your many interests. in an overview of presenters, you and I know what sets you apart from some of the fly-by-night (pants) presenters that come our way, and frankly, impose on their audiences. I have grown to respect your information, your purpose, hopes, and dreams w/ the chateau. I wish that mummy, who is so intelligent and well-bred, could be there more, and I would love to have met your father, his philosophy on a life well-lived, his painting history, moods, phases, etc. I understand he had interests in other mediums in art. it would be wonderful if he had some unknown lecture-type presentations on techniques or commentary on his works. I see how excited you become, as you talk about his legacy, and that always makes me happy. perhaps, in the future, you might present a program and discuss periods of his artistry. I'm thankful that I found you on KZread. again, I love the textile sections of which you speak on occasion. I am planning a trip to Limoges and to the little shop and museum featuring the toile du Jouy and the dress of the era. currently, my plans are looking as if they will be realized for the week of May 21, 2021. I'm planning to spend 7-8 days at the Chateau de la Basmaignee if I am able to get a room for 16-17, and the stable facilities for me and 2 executive assistants. from there, we will be going on some buying trips near Rennes, Brittany, and the French coast. then on to Limoges, and a little town south, southwest from Limoges. I would love to stop over at Lalande. I'm sure the unannounced numbers might be a problem, and, of course, the covid mess. still, if permitted, we could take a day tour. I am a master chef, and I will be bringing 2 of my personal chefs to prepare meals for our party. perhaps, the 3 of us could whip up something for you, your live-in residents, and any visiting guests you have at the time. of course, the treat would be taken care of by me. we will be traveling w/ state of the art travel buses, equipped w/ commercial kitchens, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, induction, convection, and infrared ovens, and all the kitchen appointments anyone needs. I'm a trained oratorio singer, I am very proficient in piano performance, trained classical organist. many of my employees and technologists are extremely talented in instruments, vocal performance, etc. several are antiquités specialists, multi-media specialists, fashion consultants, and buyers, and several are web/computer experts and engineers. I live in Paris for about half the year. I have lived there 11years, as of next month. several of these people I have based in Paris. I have a home in Memphis, TN, a place in Manhatten, and a chalet in the Colorado mountains. if you will, give it some thought. I know how busy you are, and the likelihood of a rather impromptu gathering is pretty much out, but we could have some real fun, and I would love to meet you. Mr. Petherick has no maid service nor in-house catering or personal chef services; therefore, we are bringing some of my people to help w/ the needed service. tow of my house managers jumped at the opportunity, as did two of my personal maids. the chefs are my personal employees. one lives in Paris and one is coming from the U.S. actually, we are all on working vacations. buying trips, , sightseeing, food excursions, tours, work-oriented initiatives, etc. they will get a big vacation and surprise after we finish this first set of activities. most like to gamble, they like 24-hour activities, nightlife, and some money in their pockets, so all are going to be graced w/ the monte. I don't care for such, but they have 10 days of debauchery and whatever. I am going to take 8 days on the train through Norway. beautiful lakes, fjords, country, and little houses there. I'm looking forward to some relatively slowed down living. I need to get your address and an email. I purchased some Joy parfum for Nati, who purchased a beautiful bed jacket. I asked about the location of its purchase, and she was kind enough to post it on one of the videos. I purchased 7 of them as Christmas presents for ladies and girls that love beautiful articles of clothes. Nati was so wonderful in making the piece flow, and she was so good at showing how she felt and how it made her feel, I purchased the "JOY" for her. my mother wore this as her signature scent. I always think of here when a lady passes me who is wearing it. usually, I tear up, for she died an untimely and unexpected death a few days after her 50th birthday. she was a breathtakingly beautiful woman. I realize that many ladies and younger women may not want to wear the scent, as they feel it is for the mature or older woman. of course, the top notes almost put me into a state of dysfunction. I adore floral scents, especially those of rose, lavender, bergamot, tuberose, tea rose, lily of the valley, gardenia, and others. however, I'm not the one wearing it. watever she wants will be fine.
There's something very PBS about this that I find absolutely addictive. Yes, PLEASE!
You and Michael are such wonderments! Beautiful Chateau, beautiful hair and dress, amazing dog bed! Tina is a lucky pup indeed! 💗
I just love both their channels. I just found there channels and am obsessed. Michael is so beautiful!!!

Absolutely adorable!
I was at a party last night and my friends, knowing I love all things French, asked if I had been watching this series. I admittingly hadn't however by the time I made it home there was a link to "The Chateau Diaries". I poured myself a glass of wine and settled in. After the first video I was hooked. It was a no-brainer to hit the subscribe button. Today I picked up on the marathon. Watching your videos, Stephanie, makes me forget about having a mortgage, car insurance. . . what have you. I also have to say that I love your friendship with Michael. He is so creative and can do anything. The two of you are good for each other. I adore that you both love life and no matter how complicated a task might be, you embrace the challenge and savour your accomplishments. You're the kind of people I could hang out with. Best regards from Nanaimo BC. Darryl

I just love this enthusiastic group of people lead by the beautiful Stephanie. I first came across La Lande through Dick & Angel's "Return to the Chateaux" a few years ago and have been watching it ever since. Great inspiration and have recently just stumbled on La Lande vlogs ! Congratulations. Swan
I ironically just finished a fancy posh shabby chic French doggie bed just yesterday so about fell over watching this but I have to admit, yours topped mine- which I didn’t think was possible- I had spent so much time on it but yeah, my word girl- who can top that! Mine had big cabbage roses painted on either sides scrubbed down with a canopy of antique lace - wish I could have showed you- I know you’d have approved 💝
